Apple FM

Apple FM is a unique British radio station that sets itself apart with its community-oriented focus and diverse range of programmes. This station, which you can listen to live online, operates as a Community Interest Company and is run entirely by volunteers. Since its launch at 10 am on 11th May 2013, Apple FM has made it its mission to serve the care community of Taunton Deane. Whether you tune in via 97.3FM, online, or via their free apps for iOS and Android devices, you\'ll find programmes suitable for all tastes and ages​​. Apple FM has a rich history spanning over 50 years, with its roots as Radio Taunton based at Taunton Technical college, and later as Taunton Hospital Broadcasting Service. The station prides itself on allowing its presenters the freedom to choose their own music and scripts, offering a truly unique and personal listening experience. The station broadcasts around the clock, with a variety of shows delivered by over 30 presenters catering to all musical genres. Local news, weather, and travel bulletins are regularly featured, especially during their Breakfast and Drive-Time shows on weekdays between 7-9 am and 4-6 pm​. In 2015, Apple FM was awarded the Queens Award For Voluntary Service, the highest honor for any organisation, equivalent to an MBE. The station\'s community involvement extends to live broadcasts from local events like the Taunton Marathon, the Taunton Flower Show, and local Carnivals. They are always on the lookout for new volunteers to join their team, providing a rewarding opportunity for individuals to give back to their community​​.
