  • The Snark Factor 3 in 3: IRS Buc-ee’s Dolly 25.06.2026 3min
Audio is above. The IRS did better than expected. Buc-ee’s is expanding. Dolly Parton just entered the travel stop wars. That’s today’s 3 in 3.First up, the IRS somehow managed to issue refunds better than expected despite job cuts, leadership turnover, and tax law changes. Which raises a question nobody in government wants to ask too loudly: how many people did you need again? Then, Buc-ee’s is opening 15 more locations between now and 2031. More clean bathrooms. More Beaver Nuggets. More brisket. More gas stations the size of small nations. And finally, Dolly Parton opened her Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee. Unlike Buc-ee’s, Dolly’s place welcomes truckers. Then she explained why she got into the truck stop business:“I couldn’t leave it to beavers.”Perfect.And just like that, America’s travel stop wars have officially begun.Listen to the latest 3 in 3 above, and subscribe so you never miss one. Thanks for reading! • 3 in 3: Where Have I Been? 23.06.2026 2min
The audio is above. The 3 in 3 is back.Tonight, we start with a disturbing update in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie. CNN reports that a second note connected to the case said Guthrie had died shortly after being kidnapped. More than 20 weeks later, the investigation remains active and ongoing. Then, M&M’s are going dye-free, and apparently, blue and brown didn’t survive the transition. Mars says those colors are causing production problems, but don’t worry — the full lineup may be back by 2028. That’s right. We can put a robot on Mars, but we need two more years to make a blue M&M.Finally, where have I been?A few of you have asked why the 3 in 3 disappeared for a couple of weeks. Fair question. The answer is: Eat Drink Smoke has been taking over my life. In a good way.For those who don’t know, I co-host the nationally syndicated Eat Drink Smoke Radio Show with Tony Katz. Lately, we’ve been building up the EDS YouTube channel, cutting more video, posting more clips, organizing the segments, and sharing everything over at EatDrinkSmokeShow.com.So yes, I’ve been busy. But The Snark Factor isn’t going anywhere. And apparently, neither am I.Thanks for reading! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work. This is a public episode. • The Snark Factor 3 in 3 - Hamas Cartels Fun 13.05.2026 3min
Today’s episode starts heavy.CNN reports a new investigation says sexual violence during the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel was systematic and widespread. That is not setup material. Some crimes should be named plainly. Then, CNN reports the CIA has escalated secret operations against drug cartels inside Mexico, which sounds like a Tom Clancy paperback someone accidentally declassified. And finally, the New York Post says nearly half of Americans are in a “fun drought.”Seems fair. We have endless entertainment. Not nearly enough actual fun.The audio is above.Subscribe here on Substack, and follow The Snark Factor 3 in 3 wherever you get podcasts.Sources: CNN, KRDO, New York Post. Thanks for reading! • The Snark Factor 3 in 3 - Iran Steps Netflix 12.05.2026 2min
The audio is above.Today’s episode starts with Iran offering a counterproposal the U.S. rejected as “totally unacceptable,” because apparently international diplomacy is now two heavily armed men in a doorway saying, “You first.”Then we get some health news: a study says 8,500 steps a day may help people keep weight off after losing it. Not lose it. Keep it off. Which means weight loss is apparently less of an achievement and more of a subscription service with sneakers. And Texas is suing Netflix, accusing the company of spying on children and designing addictive features. Netflix says the lawsuit lacks merit. Texas says Netflix may have been watching viewers while viewers were watching Netflix.Which is upsetting.Especially because I thought Netflix was only judging me for watching eight episodes of Murder Barn Nebraska Secrets.Sources: The Hill, ABC News, and Reuters. Thanks for reading! • The Snark Factor 3 in 3 - Epstein Refunds Perry 07.05.2026 3min
The audio is above.Today’s Snark Factor 3 in 3 starts with a purported Jeffrey Epstein suicide note being unsealed, because apparently that story still had bonus levels. Then the IRS may owe refunds to millions of Americans for COVID-era penalties and interest, but, naturally, you may have to file Form 843 to get them.Because Washington never just hands you money. It sends you on a clerical scavenger hunt. And finally, personal items from Matthew Perry’s estate are going up for auction, with proceeds benefiting addiction recovery work through the Matthew Perry Foundation. So today we learned Epstein’s story got weirder, the IRS may owe you money if you complete the sacred tax scroll, and Matthew Perry’s Batman ping-pong table may do more good than half of Washington.Which is unfair to the table.Listen above. Thanks for reading!
