While the chapter gets its name from a later X-Men storyline, we begin our journey here with Daredevil's Guardian Devil. This series was started in 1998, written by Kevin Smith and pencilled by Joe Quesada. This episode covers The Sentry (2000) #1-5, Sentry/Fantastic Four (2001) #1, Sentry/Hulk (2001) #1, Sentry/Spider-Man (2001) #1, Sentry/X-Men (2001) #1, and Sentry vs. The Void (2001) #1. All the comics were written by Paul Jenkins. For The Sentry #1-5 and Sentry vs The Void, the pencil and ink done by Jae Lee with the color done by José Villarrubia.In the Sentry/Fantastic Four, the artists include Phil Winslade as the penciller and inking done by Tom Palmer with the color added in by Tom Chu.For the Sentry/Hulk, the penciling and inking were both done by Bill Sienkiewicz with the coloring done by José Villarrubia.
