A podcast where friends from the Los Angeles comedy scene talk about the Beatles, going through the band's catalog one album at a time. The hosts freely admit they have no special qualifications or reason to do this — they simply love the band. Episodes cover the reasons they love the Beatles, stories they've read about them, and the opinions they hold. It's a loose, fan-driven conversation full of enthusiasm for the music.

  • Podcast re-release: Revolver 23.07.2026 1h 13min
For this month, we are re-releasing an older episode when we first went over Revolver. It was originally released in Feb 2017.  It's currently behind a subscriber wall, as is our full catalog. To get access, you can subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com. Or you can just enjoy this episode right here! Below is the original description: ------------ After doing one of the best albums of all time with Rubber Soul, the Beatles follow with yet ANOTHER one of the best albums of all time: Revolver. The songwriting quality is just as high, and now they're pushing the boundaries of their style more than ever. Orchestral backing with "Eleanor Rigby," trippy free-flowing songs like "She Said She Said," the funky fuzz bass of George's "Taxman," the backing horns for "Got to Get You Into My Life" and of course the most experimental track they've done yet: "Tomorrow Never Knows." Panelists: Will Hines, Joel Spence, Brett Morris, Heather Woodward. ------------------ Email us at [email protected] Subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com to support the show and for bonus episodes.
  • The Boys Of Dungeon Lane (new Paul album) 10.06.2026 1h 39min

  • Ringo's New Album: Long Long Road 01.06.2026 47min
It's a two person panel this week with Joel and Will! Katie and Brett will be back! We review Ringo Starr's new country-ish album Long Long Road, which is sort of volume II to last year's Look Up.  Same producer and songwriting team (mostly T-Bone Burnett), Molly Tuttle is back and a few other stars harmonizers (St. Vincent, Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings).  Will and Joel make it clear that they have sincere love for Ringo. But they also accidentally give the worst "pull quote" reviews for this album you could, like "These are melodies you could teach to a chid or a senior center ... five stars." Does adding five stars make it polite?? ------------------ Email us at [email protected] Subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com to support the show and for bonus episodes.
  • John & Paul: A Love Story In Songs 25.04.2026 1h 21min
The panel reviews and discusses last year's hit Beatle book John & Paul: A Love Story in Songs, by Ian Leslie. We loved this book. For those who haven't read it, it's a "biography of a relationship" - telling the story of John and Paul's partnership through their songs. Each chapter is named after a song which means even the table of contents tells a story.  For the casual fan, this book is a pretty thorough summary of all the major events of their lives. For the Beatles experts, Ian underlines facts you might not have noticed (John and Paul both use "I" even when they trade lead vocal on "A Hard Day's Night", the album Rubber Soul took just 14 days of studio time to record?) as well as thoughtful connections you might not have considered (You can see "Tommorrow Never Knows" as an answer to "Yesterday").  His description of the songs themselves captures what it feels like to listen to them. He rightfully points out that any Beatles fan has listened to "Hey Jude" so many times it's ironically tough to ACTUALLY hear. They he describes the gradual build of the song that it pops into your head, fresh for the first time in years! It's a best seller so many of you will have read it. If not, we think you'll love it if you do.Panelists: Will Hines, Brett Morris, Katie Plattner, Joel Spence ------------------ Email us at [email protected] Subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com to support the show and for bonus episodes.
  • EMERGENCY EPISODE: Paul Rocks The Fonda 30.03.2026 2h 32min
This weekend (March 27 and 28, 2026), Sir Paul McCartney and his band did an "intimate" concert for just 1000 people in Los Angeles, at the Fonda Theater. 3/4 of the panel was there, so we did this episode to discuss it! Will, Joel and Brett share their memories, while Katie is here to help us describe things and do her best to contain her seething jealousy!  Joining us is special guest Scott Aukerman! You know Scott from Comedy Bang-Bang and a million other cool comedy projects. But he's also an avid music fan and LA concert-goer. He's also the reason Brett was able to see the show!  We dive DEEP on the details of entering the lottery, buying the tickets, the sound check, the show itself, the other guests in attendence, what happened on Saturday night which we did not see, and much more.  For a diehard Beatles fan, seeing Paul in concert is an insanely happy experience. The show was great, and we're excited to talk about it! • EMERGENCY EPISODE: New Paul Song (Days We Left Behind) 27.03.2026 30min
Today (March 26, 2026), Paul McCartney announced that he finished a new album that will come out in May, called The Boys of Dungeon Lane. He also released the first single, which is called "Days We Left Behind." We listen to it and talk about! And we also talk about what it felt like to hear Paul was releasing another album. Also, some of the panel won tickets to the McCartney concert happening in LA tomorrow (March 27) and so... we are excited! • Man On The Run 25.03.2026 1h 20min
We cover the new Paul McCartney documentary MAN ON THE RUN, out on Amazon Prime, which covers the Wings part of Paul's post Beatles era.  Among other things, we hear Paul's motivations behind founding Wings, the emotional struggles after the end of the Beatles, thoughts about John's angry statements about Paul, his marriage to and relationship with Linda, musical decisions of many of his best known songs, his reaction to John's death and more. Overall it's a compassionate look that's surprisingly honest, given that Paul is an executive producer. The panel largely wanted more depth, but also enjoy what's here. In our "I Read The News Today Oh Boy" segment, we discuss Peter Jackson's statement that there is footage of the White Album being recorded, and Paul's upcoming "intimate" concerts in Los Angeles. • Anthology Episode Nine 23.02.2026 1h 14min
The panel goes over the newest episode of the Beatles Anthology - Episode 9! Released last November (2025), this episode shows interviews of Paul George and Ringo at the time they were filming the Anthology in the mid-90s. We see their thoughts and feelings about looking back on the Beatles. We also get extended looks at the recording the John Lennon Demos "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love." We get a surprisingly happy George, Ringo warmly telling Paul to quit horsing around and a generally sunny time. We also quickly discuss the upcoming Sam Mendes Beatles biopics, Ethan Hawke's Beatles take and a Mark Lewisohn ... er, power point presentation? • One to One: John & Yoko (Lennon Concert Documentary) 28.01.2026 1h 21min
The panel goes over the recent documentary ONE TO ONE: JOHN & YOKO. This is a look at John's only real solo concert, which he did at Madison Square Garden in 1972 to benefit a children's hospital. The doc also takes a lot of the news issues of the day which were influencing John and his struggles with immigration at the time.  We're amazed at realizing how intense the nightly news was at this time, and it gave us new perspective on John's more politically minded songs and activism. There's a lot of fun footage, including many phone calls John and Yoko were having with their staff and reporters.  Panelists: Will Hines, Brett Morris, Katie Plattner, Joel Spence ------------------ Subscribe for our full back catalog and monthly bonus episodes at https://www.screwitpodcasts.com/ Join our free Discord chat: https://discord.gg/phXVFgB4ck Email us at [email protected]
  • Anthology 4 22.12.2025 2h 41min
The panel goes very deep on Anthology 4, the "new" volume of rare tracks released as a sequel to the 1994 documentary / music release Beatles Anthology. I put "new" in quotes since many of these tracks were included on the re-mixes of Revolver, White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road. It's a fun listen. We spend a lot of time going track by track to give our thoughts on it. • Magical Mystery Tour (film) Watchalong - Abridged 15.10.2025 15min
This is an abridged episode. For the full version, subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com -------------------------------------------------- The panel watches the 1967 film Magical Mystery Tour. Originally a television special for the BBC on Boxing Day (day after Christmas, Americans) it is now seen as the Beatles third movie. A largely improvised film led by Paul, the film is seen as.... a mixed bag! A lot of the sequences are kinda, how do I put this, boring? But we also have a great music video for I Am The Walrus and some comedy(ish) sequences that are fun! Watch along with us! • Chaos and Creation In The Backyard - Abridged 19.09.2025 15min
This is an abridged episode. For the full version, subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com -------------------------------------------------- The panel goes over Paul's 2005 solo album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. This was a big change of pace for Paul. He teamed up with Radiohead's producer Nigel Godrich and produced a series of mostly quiet, introspective and beautiful songs. The most famous track from this album is probably "Jenny Wren" but every one is interesting! ------------------ Join our free Discord chat: https://discord.gg/phXVFgB4ck Email us at [email protected] ------ Subscribe at screwitpocasts.com to support the podcast and to get monthly bonus episodes!  This month we are doing an episode explaining the history of the quote "Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles" -- a joke that was never said by any member of the Beatles, but is often misattributed to John.
  • Walls and Bridges - Abridged 15.08.2025 15min
This is an abridged episode. For the full version, subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com -------------------------------------------------- We go over the 1974 John Lennon album Walls and Bridges! This was John's 4th solo album, and the final one he recorded before going on a nearly 5 year hiatus from recording. It's got the hits "#9 Dream" and "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" but of course has a lot of great songs besides. The panel gets into it! ------------------ Join our free Discord chat: https://discord.gg/phXVFgB4ck Email us at [email protected] ------ Subscribe at screwitpocasts.com to support the podcast and to get monthly bonus episodes!  This month we are doing an episode on Billy Joel, inspired by the new HBO documentary And So It Goes.
  • Deep Cut Beatles Best Of - Abridged 21.07.2025 18min
This is an abridged episode. For the full version, subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com -------------------------------------------------- What would you put on your Beatles best-of if you couldn't use any of their hits? That's the challenge the panel does in this episode. We each complied a "deep cut" Beatles best-of. These were our rules: Nothing that was on the "red" (1962-1966) or "blue" (1967-1970) albums, including the 2023 expanded versions. Nothing that was on the Beatles "1" compilation. Nothing that was on the "Past Masters" collections. We limited ourselves to 78:30 -- the length of the "1" CD. It was a fun challenge! Listen to what made the lists! • RIP Brian Wilson - Abridged 19.06.2025 15min
(This is an abridged version - subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com for the full version) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our tribute episode to Brian Wilson, the leader of the Beach Boys, who died on June 11, 2025. We talk briefly , in our usual "mostly informed" way, about the relationship and influence between the Beatles and the Beach Boys. We talk in general about the incredibly transformation the Beach Boys' music went through over time. We talk about Brian's mental health struggles.  And then we take turns sharing a bunch of great Beach Boys songs! The music sharing starts at around 25 minutes in. CORRECTION: For some reason we (I?) keep saying the Brian Wilson biopic/ song is called "Love and Fear" but the correct title is "Love and Mercy." ---------- Our bonus episode this month (coming a few days after this one) for subscribers is a thought experiment in which we pitch what artists it would have been especially fun to see collaborate with either the Beatles or any of them in their solo careers. -------- Send us your thoughts at [email protected] You can also join our free Discord channel at screwitpodcasts.com
  • Let It Be... Naked - Abridged 31.05.2025 15min
(This is an abridged version - subscribe at screwitpodcasts.com for the full version) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let It Be came out in May 1970. In honor of its anniversary we look at Paul McCartney's version (basically) -- Let It Be... Naked. This is a version of the Let It Be album with much of producer Phil Spector's production removed. There's a different sequence of songs, different songs included and left off and very different production.  It's a really fun listen! --------- Our bonus episode this month for bonus subscribers is an hour look at some Phil Spector songs. He was the final producer of the original Let It Be album and made a ton of great music. He was also an abusive man who committed murder! Life is complicated, to say the least.  But the music is great and was influential on the Beatles. We go around the panel, picking songs.
