Elster was the first person I interviewed and photographed when I was invited to be artist in residence for a whole week at the Bundaberg Regional Art Galleries. After several very turbulent weeks in my personal life, being able to listen to a young person speak of facing adversity in such a candid and honest way was a very grounding experience.
