Episode 511: The Duston Family Murders 28.05.2026 36minIn the early morning hours of December 1, 1991, 46‑year‑old Jane Duston of Branson, Missouri, took the lives of most of her family and then her own. Jane had recently undergone surgery for uterine cancer and was receiving medication for depression. While we cannot fully know what she experienced or the depth of her suffering, these factors are believed to have played a role in that tragic night. As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, this painful story is a solemn reminder that we often cannot see the struggles people carry inside. Serious illness, treatment, and mental health conditions can quietly and powerfully alter a person’s thoughts and behaviors, even in those who once seemed steady and strong. Out of that awareness, we can choose compassion: to listen without judgment, to check in with those who may be isolated, and to encourage—gently and persistently—access to care and support. Small acts of kindness and vigilance can matter deeply to someone who feels alone. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, confidential, free, 24/7/365 help is available. Episode 498: The West Memphis 3- Part 3 13.04.2026 1t 2minThe West Memphis Three case remains one of the most debated criminal cases in modern U.S. history, marked by conflicting interpretations of evidence, questions about investigative methods, and ongoing disagreement about guilt or innocence. While Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. were convicted in 1994, years of scrutiny have raised concerns about the reliability of key evidence, including Misskelley’s confession and disputed forensic findings. The emergence of alternative suspects and new DNA testing further complicated the case, leading to their release in 2011 through Alford pleas while maintaining their innocence. Ultimately, the case highlights broader issues within the justice system, including the risks of wrongful conviction, the influence of public perception, and the importance of thorough, unbiased investigations. As we conclude this case in its entirety, I want to remind you of the victims who don’t get a second chance and still need justice: Stevie Branch, Michael Moore and Christopher Byers. Episode 497: The West Memphis Three- Part 2 09.04.2026 56minThe West Memphis Three case centers on the brutal 1993 murders of three eight-year-old boys—Stevie Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers—in West Memphis, Arkansas. Police arrested three teenagers, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr., who became known as the West Memphis Three. In part 2 we'll go over Jesse and Damien’s trials and how the prosecution argued the killings were part of a satanic ritual, a claim influenced by the era’s “Satanic Panic.” Jesse did confess to the murders after a long interrogation, which became a key piece of evidence, though he later recanted the confession and it’s been heavily debated over the years. The house appeared ransacked, though investigators later questioned whether the scene had been staged. At the time of the murders, Jon Feeney, their husband and father was attending a teachers’ conference at Lake of the Ozarks.
