Ashwagandha is a powerful herb that helps to reduce stress and anxiety. Along with stress management, ashwagandha has numerous potential health benefits, including the following:•Reduces nervousness•Helps reduce cortisol •Increases VO2 max•Increases testosterone•Improves sleep•Improves recovery•Lowers blood sugar•Helps improve insulin resistanceHowever, there are some things to consider before taking ashwagandha. Avoid ashwagandha if you have a hyperthyroid condition like Graves' disease because ashwagandha speeds up the thyroid.Because it lowers blood pressure, it’s best to avoid ashwagandha if your blood pressure is already on the low side. If you have low cortisol, you won’t want to push it even lower with ashwagandha. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also avoid ashwagandha.Don't take ashwagandha if you’re sensitive to nightshades or have a genetic problem that causes you to have too much iron. If you take too much ashwagandha for too long, some people describe feeling no emotion or feeling numb. Most people who experience adverse ashwagandha side effects have taken it for too long and in high doses. Consider keeping your ashwagandha intake at around 600 mg daily, broken into two 300 mg doses. It’s also best to limit your intake to two months at a time.Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 59, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis and Intermittent Fasting. It’s time to stop skipping breakfast! Learn about the 7 benefits of early eating. DATA: https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Early-Time-Restricted-Feeding-Improves-24-Hour-and-Jamshed-Beyl/55e3fe398289496af027f1af5281eed0f495ac1e https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1550413118302535 0:00 Introduction: Should you eat breakfast? 1:10 Dietary variables to consider 2:12 What is early time-restricted eating? 2:49 Seven benefits of early time-restricted eating 4:48 Cortisol and your appetite 5:56 Watch my new video about a spice that can lower your blood sugar! In this video, we’re going to talk about early time-restricted eating. In my first book, I recommended that everyone should eat breakfast. In my second book, I removed that recommendation. After reviewing the research, I tried early time-restricted eating and I’m very impressed with the benefits. Early eating aligns with your circadian rhythm, so it can be beneficial to avoid eating after 3:00p.m. Here are 7 benefits of early time-restricted eating: 1. Better HOMA-IR (insulin sensitivity) 2. Better blood sugars 3. Better B-cell response 4. Lower appetite in the evening 5. Better insulin levels after eating 6. Autophagy 7. Food genes downgraded in the evening Biochemical pathways that are associated with eating and food are normally downgraded in the evening. Eating reactivates those food genes, which is why I'm experimenting with my eating pattern. I’m still fasting for 20 hours each day, I've just shifted my eating pattern from 9:00a.m.-1:00p.m! Cortisol spikes in the morning, causing you to become hungry. You don’t have a cortisol spike in the evening, so you’ll spend the rest of the day satisfied and simply not hungry. This leads to better digestion, better blood sugar, and better sleep. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 57, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Breakfast is a Deception 04.10.2026 11Min.What you eat for breakfast affects how you feel for the rest of the day. Discover the best breakfast foods that boost morning energy and improve cognitive function throughout the day. A carb-heavy breakfast promotes insulin resistance, which inhibits your ability to absorb fuel. The first place you’ll notice this is in your brain. Ketones are a much better fuel for your brain than sugar. To make ketones, you need to lower your carbs and sugar. You can also produce ketones by fasting. While fasting, your body must convert to making ketones for energy. Carbohydrate breakfast foods leave you hungry within an hour-and-a-half of eating. Sugary cereal is a poor choice for breakfast. Magic Spoon or keto-friendly granola without added sugar is a better option. Oatmeal is generally one of the most ultra-processed foods. If you want to eat oatmeal for breakfast, look for regular oatmeal without sugar. The best option for oatmeal is steel-cut oats, although they take longer to cook. Oatmeal and wheat are heavily sprayed with glyphosate, which has been shown to cause cancer and problems with your gut. Choose organic to avoid this problem. Replacing your breakfast food with protein such as meat, bacon, and eggs can significantly change your energy levels and cognitive function. Eggs and bacon are the perfect healthy morning breakfast. You can also add avocado or cheese. Cheese is very nutritious, a good source of protein, and has good bacteria due to the fermentation process. Yogurt is a great breakfast option. Choose organic Greek or Bulgarian yogurt without added sugar, or make your own yogurt. Instead of giving your kids Wonder bread, try a sprouted bread like Ezekiel bread. Add peanut butter for extra protein. Red meat and pork sausage are also great breakfast foods. It’s important to prioritize sleep! Losing just one hour of sleep can significantly affect your blood sugar and cognitive state. --- Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices -

Did you know there is one carbohydrate that can help you lower your bad cholesterol naturally? Find out what it is! DATA: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9925120/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8330388/ https://academic.oup.com/jn/article/129/5/942/4721922 0:00 Introduction: Is high cholesterol bad? 0:35 Cholesterol explained 1:54 How to lower cholesterol naturally 4:33 Learn more about LDL cholesterol! Let’s talk about the best carbohydrate to help you lower your cholesterol. In some cases, it’s not a problem if cholesterol is a little bit higher. This can happen when you first start the keto diet because you’re mobilizing cholesterol from the fat cells. But what can you do if you need to lower bad cholesterol naturally? There is one specific food that can really help you. Your body makes cholesterol. Excess cholesterol is eliminated through the bile ducts with the help of bile salts. Bile salts have a lot of important roles in the body. Typically, carbohydrates will increase cholesterol and triglycerides. There are three types of carbohydrates: sugar, starches, and fiber. Fiber can actually help reduce your cholesterol, but it has to be the right type of fiber. We’re talking about the fiber in vegetables. Vegetables have low amounts of sugar and high amounts of fiber. They’re also rich in nutrients, phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Fiber helps bind with cholesterol and modify the absorption of lipids and fats. It also increases the production of bile and eliminates bile connected to cholesterol. Fiber has zero effect on blood sugar and insulin, which will help lower your cholesterol. Feeding your microbes fiber also decreases the production of cholesterol. If you have high cholesterol, consume more vegetables to help increase the release of bile and feed the microbes. At the same time, be sure to avoid sugar and starch in your diet. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 58, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. You May Never Eat CHICKEN Again After Hearing This 03.10.2026 10Min.Get access to my FREE resources 👉 https://drbrg.co/3JH0JSR Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements. Is chicken really healthy? Learn the truth about chicken. 0:00 Introduction: Is chicken healthy? 0:18 The truth about chicken 6:40 Beef vs. chicken 7:40 Check out this video on beef! Let’s talk about chicken. Chicken is the most genetically manipulated animal protein that you can consume, and there are consequences when you alter the natural process of growing a chicken. Chickens are typically raised in a very inhumane and unhealthy environment. Many issues with the chicken you buy from the store are present because of the conditions the chicken was raised in. Store-bought chickens even have added coloring, which is used to make them look healthy and appetizing. But, the need for this coloring can be traced back to the chicken’s environment. Another big problem with chicken is that it’s very high in omega-6 fatty acids, which means it’s very inflammatory. Chickens are also fed inflammatory ingredients, like used cooking oil, that is in chicken feeds. This contributes to chicken meat being inflammatory. Chicken is also low in nutrition. When comparing beef and chicken, beef is much more nutrient-dense and contains less omega-6 fatty acids. In this video, we’re going to talk about the best and worst oil for deep frying. Seed oils are polyunsaturated fatty acids. Vegetable oil is actually seed oil—it doesn’t come from vegetables. Seed oils go through industrial processing involving heating and the addition of solvents like hexane, a chemical found in gasoline. This process allows seed oils to be shelf-stable for long periods of time. Around 25% to 30% of our calories come from seed oils. When you cook processed foods like donuts in seed oils, you’re combining sugar with fat and heat. This process, called glycation, creates sticky proteins in the body. Fast food oil is reheated and reused repeatedly. The more it’s heated, the more toxic it becomes. Seed oils were not originally created for human consumption. They’re incredibly damaging to the mitochondria and lead to insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, obesity, heart disease, and an increased risk for cancer. Soybean oil causes the most damage to the body, followed by corn oil, sunflower oil, and canola oil. Healthier cooking oils for frying include avocado oil, coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, beef tallow, butter, and ghee. Keep in mind it's best to cook over low or medium heat. Pan-frying, air-frying, and stir-frying are healthier options than deep-frying over high heat. Protein Isn't Actually Protein 03.10.2026 13Min.Get access to my FREE resources 👉 https://drbrg.co/3WimSym Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) Just so you know, my full line of high-quality supplements is available on Amazon — search Dr. Berg Supplements. Let me clear something up. A protein is not really protein. Here’s what I mean. Serenity Products: https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/ACC99AE8-4A45-45BF-845C-B8D7E815923D 0:00 Introduction: Protein is not protein 0:14 Protein RDAs 2:40 Foods rich in protein 2:57 Protein explained 7:46 Protein for kids 8:58 Learn more about protein! Today, I want to clear up some confusion around protein. Typically, the minimum amount of protein a person needs is 50 grams. You might think that if you consume a beef steak that’s 100 grams or 3.5 ounces, you’re getting double the amount of protein you need for the day. However, there is a difference between the weight of a steak and the amount of protein in the steak. For example, a steak that weighs 100 grams only contains 26 grams of protein. This is because steak also contains fat and water. Proteins also vary in amino acids. We don’t even really have a daily requirement for protein—we actually have a daily requirement for amino acids in the protein. The problem lies in the quality of protein or the bioavailable acids in the food you eat. While some plants have protein, animal sources are a better option for protein than plant sources. Also, know that many infant formulas and foods for toddlers are loaded with soy protein and other plant proteins that can cause problems with digestion. Foods high in protein: 1. Breast milk 2. Eggs 3. Meat 4. Chicken 5. Dairy Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 58, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Surprisingly, one of the earliest signs of dementia involves the retina. There is a high correlation between problems in the retina and problems in the brain. Problems with night vision or central vision, floaters, and light sensitivity issues are the earliest signs of dementia. Some people develop amyloid-beta plaquing on the retina and may experience problems differentiating shades of grey and other colors. Researchers have found high levels of microbes, typically found in the mouth, in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients. When people die from dementia, it’s usually caused by an infection such as a UTI or lung infection. For some people, surgery can be too much on the body and lead to death. Some people with dementia have a slow, progressive degeneration of the brain to the point they’re bedridden and stop eating and drinking, which ultimately leads to death. Focus on cleaning your brain and reducing inflammation for dementia prevention. The glymphatic system cleans the brain, mainly at night, which is one of the primary purposes of sleep. This system removes malformed proteins and plaquing and rejuvenates the brain. Anything that inhibits sleeping may increase your risk for Alzheimer’s, heart attacks, strokes, cancer, blood sugar issues, and type 2 diabetes. Sleep apnea can also be problematic. You need 8 to 9 hours of sleep! Alcohol significantly interferes with REM sleep and is very damaging to brain health. To prevent Alzheimer’s, you must flood the brain with oxygen. Exercise is one of the best ways to do this! Exercise stimulates the growth of brain cells and the hormone BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor). Adequate sun exposure and high amounts of vitamin D can help support healthy sleep. A diet high in sugar and carbohydrates can starve your neurons. Brain cells love ketones! To get into ketosis, you must lower your carbohydrate intake. If you have any early signs of dementia, try taking ketones as a supplement or MCT oil. Niacin may also be helpful. Take 50 mg daily, slowly increasing to 500 mg per day. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 59, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Find out if one trace mineral can help end your arthritis pain for good. 0:00 Introduction: The number 1 missing trace mineral in arthritis 0:24 What is boron? 0:57 Boron benefits 3:26 How much boron do you need for arthritis? Today, we’re going to talk about the number 1 missing trace mineral involved in arthritis. Vitamin D and magnesium are often used for arthritis, but they won’t work without enough boron. There aren't many studies on boron, but there is some promising data involving boron and arthritis. Boron seems to be the key trace mineral that allows calcium and magnesium to work. If you’re deficient in boron, you’ll have excess calcium and magnesium in the urine and tend to get more calcification in the soft tissues. You might also have weaker bones. Here are some of the health benefits of boron: • Helps keep minerals inside the bone • Allows vitamin D to be activated • Helps prevent tooth decay Boron helps prevent joint inflammation by reducing C-reactive protein. A boron deficiency can also cause receding gums, kidney stones, calcium in the arteries, and calcium in the joints. The parathyroid gland stores the most boron in the body and produces a hormone that helps control calcium. If you don’t have enough calcium, the parathyroid hormone will increase to extract the calcium from your bones. You need boron to allow this process to work. If you’re low in boron, you might also be low in testosterone or estrogen. Research suggests that boron can even potentially help reduce the risk of prostate cancer. To use boron to help relieve arthritis symptoms, try starting with 3 mg of boron three times per day and see if the problem resolves within 1 to 3 months. What Happens If You Take Collagen Daily? 03.10.2026 13Min.I’m sure you’ve heard of using collagen for skin, hair, and anti-aging, but does collagen really work? It does, but in more ways than you think! Find out about the real benefit of collagen you’ve probably never heard about. Learn more about collagen absorption to maximize the benefits! Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) Chapters:- 0:00 Introduction: Collagen benefits 1:04 What is collagen? 2:45 More benefits of collagen 4:10 Collagen peptides 7:58 The best collagen sources 9:22 Improving collagen absorption and function Collagen is often used for hair, skin, nails, and joints. It’s been used to prevent wrinkles and as a beauty product, but the real benefit of collagen has nothing to do with beauty! Our ancestors ate animals nose to tail. This means they included organ meats, bone marrow, cartilage, and skin as vital parts of their diet. Around 30% of the protein in your body is collagen. It makes up the connective tissue of the body. Your tendons, ligaments, cartilage, fascia, and even a portion of your bones are made of collagen. In modern times, most of our meat doesn’t contain much collagen. Only 1% to 3% of the protein we eat is collagen. This can lead to deficiencies in glycine, a key amino acid. When you’re 17, you have the most collagen of your entire life. As we age, we lose a significant amount of collagen, leading to skin sagging, wrinkles, joint issues, and increased overall fragility. Here are some of the surprising benefits of collagen: •Antioxidant properties •Helps increase glutathione •Gut lining repair •Glycine for sleep and detoxification Most of the collagen from the diet breaks down into amino acids. Only 10% remains as collagen peptide chains. Peptides are signaling molecules that tell the body to repair and rebuild connective tissue. These peptides trigger specific genes that activate the fibroblast cells in the body to produce collagen and elastin. When you consume muscle meat, eggs, and whey protein, you’re only getting amino acids, not the signaling molecules for repairing and rebuilding. To increase your collagen intake, you can try a collagen supplement. You can also consume collagen-rich foods, such as the skin on chicken or fish. You can use bones, joints, and cartilage to make a variety of stews and soups. Bone marrow is an excellent source of collagen! Grass-fed, grass-finished beef has more collagen than conventional beef. You can even try mixing collagen powder in your coffee! Don’t forget the cofactors, vitamin C, biotin, and trace minerals, which are vital for collagen absorption and function. Vitamins You Should NEVER Use 03.10.2026 17Min.Find out about the harmful vitamins and supplements lurking in your medicine cabinet. These dangerous vitamins are not beneficial to your health, and often have the opposite effect. Do not take these vitamins! Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) 0:00 Introduction: The 10 vitamins you should never take 0:40 Synthetic vitamin A 2:00 Synthetic beta carotene 3:08 Folic acid 4:25 Synthetic B12 5:51 Calcium carbonate 7:14 Iron 8:36 Magnesium oxide 9:33 Synthetic vitamin D (D2) 10:42 Omega-6 fat (Linoleic acid) 11:36 Copper Synthetic vitamins are often cheap and create a huge profit margin for the manufacturer. Most big vitamin companies are owned by Big Pharma and big chemical companies. Never take synthetic vitamin A! It can build up in the liver and fat cells and even cause a birth defect if it occurs during pregnancy. Synthetic vitamin A can also interfere with vitamin D and K2, increasing the risk of fractures. Beta carotene is not the same as vitamin A's active form. Synthetic beta carotene, made from coal tar and petroleum, can increase the risk of certain cancers. Folic acid is different from folate, the natural form of vitamin B9. Around 30% to 40% of the world's population has an alteration of the MTHFR gene, which interferes with their ability to turn folic acid into folate, causing it to build up in the blood. This can lead to an increased risk of cancer and a suppressed immune system. Synthetic B12, or cyanocobalamine, requires glutathione to convert to the active form methylcobalamine. Consuming large amounts of synthetic B12 depletes you of this vital antioxidant. Calcium carbonate is the main ingredient in many popular multivitamins. It can build up in the arteries and kidneys and increase your risk of a heart attack. Too much iron can increase your risk of type 2 diabetes, liver issues, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s. Many iron supplements contain ferrous sulfate, a damaging, poor-quality source of iron. Magnesium oxide is a cheap, poorly-absorbed form of magnesium that frequently causes diarrhea. Choose magnesium glycinate for significantly better absorption, better sleep, lower cortisol, and more overall benefits. Synthetic vitamin D is called ergocalciferol and is made by exposing fungus or yeast to UV radiation. Vitamin D2 is not nearly as beneficial as vitamin D3, yet it’s the most prescribed. Don’t consume supplements with added omega-6 fat, often in the form of linoleic acid. Too much omega-6 fat increases inflammation. We need copper, but high amounts of cheap copper can be toxic. Ensure you consume copper with other trace minerals in the proper ratios, especially zinc!
