  • How School Leaders Can Use AI Without Losing Human Judgment 22.06.2026 40Min.
Special "Business Revenue Leak Checklist" offer free at http://www.mrse.co/leak.How do you use AI without letting it flatten the very human judgment your work depends on? Amy Tepper and Patrick Flynn, co-founders of Tepper & Flynn, talk with Michi Lantz about broken feedback systems, AI that keeps human judgment intact, and the real challenge of scaling a high-trust business.Guest Bio:Patrick Flynn brings a rare combination to instructional leadership work — deep classroom experience, executive leadership across nine states, and a systems thinker’s eye for what makes improvement sustainable at scale. He has worked as a teacher, curriculum director, Chief Academic Officer, and Executive Director in district, regional, and international settings including the Abu Dhabi Education Council.Where Amy works at the level of individual leader transformation in a classroom or building, Patrick works at the level of organizational design — building the structures, protocols, and shared frameworks that make growth consistent across an entire district.Patrick is the co-author of Feedback to Feed Forward and Learner-Focused Feedback, both published by Corwin as Visible Learning Supporting Resources, and presents nationally and internationally on instructional leadership, performance management, and data-driven decision-making.Amy Tepper has spent nearly 30 years in K-12 education across traditional, blended, virtual, and international settings — as a teacher, administrator, program director, and coach. That range of experience is what allows her to meet leaders where they are, in whatever system they’re operating in.Her work is grounded in evidence-based teaching and learning — the conditions that make professional growth stick long after a workshop ends. Amy has a rare ability to shift how leaders think, not just what they do. Districts don’t just implement her frameworks. They internalize them.Since 2013, Amy has completed thousands of classroom visits as a peer validator, coach, and consultant across 10 states. She is the co-author of Feedback to Feed Forward and Learner-Focused Feedback, both published by Corwin as Visible Learning Supporting Resources.Connect with Patrick Flynn & Amy TepperPatrick’s LinkedIn : https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrick-w-flynn-a1515a7/Amy’s LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amy-tepper/Website: https://tepperandflynn.com/Email:patrick@tepperandflynn.comamy@tepperandflynn.comResources or websites mentioned in this episode:MiraseeCredits:Host & Producer: Michi LantzEditor: Michi LantzExecutive Producer: Danny InyTo catch the great episodes coming up on Making It, please follow us on Mirasee FM's YouTube channel or your favorite podcast player. • Building a Speaking Business After a Government Layoff 12.06.2026 30Min.
Special "Business Revenue Leak Checklist" offer free at http://www.mrse.co/leak.Lamar Butler, founder of LB The Motivator talks with Michi Lantz about rebuilding after a layoff, chasing paid speaking work, and why execution, not just talent or certifications, becomes the real business challenge.Guest Bio:Lamar Butler, affectionately known as LB, is your friendly neighborhood Hope Dealer. While his background may make him seem like an average statistic, his life speaks volumes to God’s grace and provision. From an early age he knew greatness was in his future, but he had no idea what trials and tribulations he would face along the way. Each time he fell or hit a wall, he learned how to get back up and keep going, turning failure into a teacher rather than a burden. From his small town of Society Hill, SC he ventured to Montgomery, AL leaving behind family and going into the unknown space of Alabama State University. While on campus, he found success that he had never experienced, but also felt the pain of loss that shifted everything.By the time he graduated college in 2018, he had a list of accomplishments that made him not only confident in his future, it made him determined to make an impact. LB became an 8th grade science teacher through the Teach for America program and returned home to SC. What better way to have an impact than teaching the future of our country from the same school he was once a troublesome student. In the classroom is where LB The Motivator was born, and the journey to become a well known and respected speaker began. He used his personal life experiences as fuel to help his students fight depression, anxiety, self doubt, and other obstacles in life. He made it his personal mission to make sure they felt seen and valued while in his space. Unfortunately, what seemed to be an upward trajectory turned sour rather quickly. After his two year commitment, he was faced with the difficult decision of leaving teaching as COVID-19 ravaged the entire world. His transition was into the federal government working for AmeriCorps as an Eli Segal Fellow. He would stay with the federal agency from 2020-2025.Once again his talent and skills were recognized in the workplace, and when he represented the agency at high schools, career fairs, and major conferences around the country he always brought his own flavor to enhance the impact of the moment. The job brought comfort, and comfort brought on complacency. LB stopped chasing his dreams and original goals, and simply focused on showing up for the job, the job he would eventually lose through no fault of his own. With the change of administration came a new focus, one of reduction. As the government reduced its workforce, LB lost his job and the pathway he saw to the life he desired. This loss sent him to a tough space mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, however this space is exactly where God needed him to be.Job loss sent him searching for a way to provide for his family and he has also returned him to the space of alignment with his dreams and God’s will rather than just his wants. Since then he has had to lean on God to make ends meet and provide a path to restore what was lost. He is now currently working in the restaurant industry, serving on a nonprofit board, building a business with friends, managing musical artists, preparing for his first child, and working on his first book.LB is learning how to use all of the skills he developed working as a teacher and for AmeriCorps to help others get closer to their dreams, uplift communities, and rebuild his personal brand. Lamar lost a lot because he lost himself along the journey, and in order to find himself again, God had to strip away everything that was pulling him in the wrong direction.Connect with Lamar ButlerLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lamar-butler-476a56b3/Instagram handle: @wheres_LBResources or websites mentioned in this episode:MiraseeCredits:Host & Producer: Michi LantzEditor: Michi LantzExecutive Producer: Danny InyTo catch the great episodes coming up on Making It, please follow us on Mirasee FM's YouTube channel or your favorite podcast player. Special "Business Revenue Leak Checklist" offer free at http://www.mrse.co/leak.Dr. Darren Chua of Mindset Transformation Clinic talks with Michi Lantz about rebuilding after stroke, helping executives step back from burnout, and why the next stage of growth may be less about success and more about significance.Guest Bio:Dr. Darren Chua is a thought-leader and a pioneer in the area of holistic human transformation; including leadership, mindset breakthroughs, learning & educational development, and functional health & longevity.Dr. Darren graduated from the University of Singapore (NUS) with a medical degree (MBBS) at the age 24 years-old in the year 2000. His goal, then, was to complete his houseman and continue his medical career towards neurosurgery. Unfortunately, in that very same year, he suffered a near-fatal stroke that left him half paralyzed over the right side of his body, unable to articulate, and unable to see his right visual field.Thankfully, his cognitive strength was left intact. Hence, he was still determined to pursue his journey towards doctoring. Yet, after 3 years of intense rehabilitation, he was still not allowed to continue his practice because at that time, he was still not very mobile and the concern was that he may not be able to respond to emergencies; should there be any in the hospital. Nevertheless, he decided to continue his job as a healthcare administrator only to realize his strength was not behind a desktop, but towards direct interaction with people who he can impact. After finishing his MSc, he started Potter's Clay Education which pioneered the offer of a complete refund if students do not score an A1 or A2 for their O-Levels in Science and Math subjects. Subsequently, he started Mindset Transformation Clinic where he trains adults on leadership strategies and mindset shifts to help people attain peak performance at work and in life. His strong interest in functional health and longevity has also led him to continually partner with associates in achieving optimal outcomes using targeted supplementation and complementary alternative health strategies for his clients. To further add value to his community, he improved himself by being Certified as a Behaviour and Career Consultant (CBCC).Believing in his personal motto of "Disability is only in the mind", he went on to be a para-athlete and won a Gold for Singapore at the 2015 ASEAN Games in the sport of wheelchair table-tennis. Also, in the year 2018, he completed a full Spartan Race. He gives back to the community by volunteering his time as a Board member in a few NGOs' and being an ambassador to people with different-abilities.He has also received multiple awards for his contribution back to society notably, Best Executive Coach, Leader of Heads and Hearts, Successful Entrepreneur, Young Outstanding Singaporean, and the Goh Chok Tong Enable Award. Dr. Darren has always served as a role model to inspire people from all walks of life. He "walks the talk" by continuously persevering in whatever endeavour that he sets out to do. He has inspired many to do more and to overcome their mindset to grow more beyond their disabilities, be it mental, physical or perceived.Dr. Darren is a life-long learner and has always picked up new skills and apply them in various settings. As an international inspiration speaker, he uses adult learning strategies for mindset training and his attendees are inspired and rewarded by his intense knowledge on how to better improve themselves. By sharing his training methodology, he has also built a strong community of "overcomers". Dr. Darren has written two books - "The Art of Determination" and "Prisoner of Hope" and they have touched the lives of countless readers. As a whole, Dr. Darren has achieved a lot in his life and this is exemplary to others whose lives he has touched over the years. She works with directors, VPs, founders, and C-suite executives who are smart, driven, and stuck. • Why Smart People Make Bad Decisions 05.06.2026 30Min.
Special "Business Revenue Leak Checklist" offer free at http://www.mrse.co/leak.Keynote Speaker and author Rashmi Airan talks with Michi Lantz about why smart people make bad decisions, how pressure distorts judgment, and what it takes to rebuild with clarity, resilience, and purpose. During the housing boom, she made a decision that, at the time, seemed small but had devastating consequencesGuest Bio:Rashmi Airan is a force of nature. A keynote speaker, consultant, and unapologetic truth-teller, she shakes up rooms with her raw, riveting story—one that challenges everything you think you know about leadership, ethics, and the hidden traps of ambition. She doesn’t just speak about resilience; she lives it, proving that even the most crushing failures can be transformed into a catalyst for growth, authenticity, and unshakable courage. As a first-generation Indian American, Rashmi was raised to chase excellence. She did just that—graduating with honors from Columbia Law School, thriving in corporate America, and building her own law practice. But success has a dark side. During the housing boom, she made a decision that, at the time, seemed small—but had devastating consequences. A single ethical blind spot, fueled by the pressure to provide for her children, led to a federal prison sentence for bank fraud.Prison shattered everything she thought she knew about herself. And then? She rebuilt—stronger, bolder, and more awake than ever. Through six months behind bars, Rashmi stripped away the layers of ego, guilt, and fear that had defined her. She emerged with a powerful message: our worst mistakes don’t define us—our response to them does. Now a “recovering government, corporate, and real estate lawyer,” Rashmi is a globally recognized speaker who fearlessly tackles the complexities of human behavior, decision-making, and ethical leadership. With 30+ years in business, law, and finance, she has a front-row seat to the pressures that push good people into bad decisions—and she’s on a mission to wake up individuals and organizations before they fall into the same traps. Her insights are backed by cutting-edge research in behavioral psychology, ethics, and leadership, and she’s partnered with global powerhouses like Coca-Cola, Cardinal Health, Merck, Comcast, Sotheby’s, and Hershey’s. Deloitte has recognized her transformational impact, and her story has been featured on ABC, PBS, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.Rashmi doesn’t do surface-level inspiration—she sparks deep, uncomfortable, necessary conversations. She challenges Fortune 100 leaders, financial firms, legal teams, and women’s groups to confront their blind spots, own their decisions, and rise through their struggles with integrity and courage.Beyond the stage, she’s an avid hiker, globe-trotter, and proud mother of two. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Overtown Youth Center/Alonzo Mourning Foundation and is an Ambassador for The Key Clubhouse. Her message is simple but urgent: Life will break you. Your choices will define you. And no matter how hard you fall—you can RISE.Connect with Rashmi AiranWebsite: https://rashmiairan.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rashmiairanResources or websites mentioned in this episode:MiraseeCredits:Host & Producer: Michi LantzEditor: Michi LantzExecutive Producer: Danny InyTo catch the great episodes coming up on Making It, please follow us on Mirasee FM's YouTube channel or your favorite podcast player.
