We are Moving 02.10.2026🚚 We Are Moving! ❤️ After many years in the Sacramento area, Liz and I are packing up and heading back home to Redding, California! It’s exciting, a little emotional, and definitely a lot of boxes! 📦 But most of all, we’re grateful for this new chapter God has placed before us. And yes… The Catholic Journey is moving too! 🎙️ The microphones, computers, recording equipment—and probably way too many cords—are all being packed up. So we’ll be taking a short break from our daily episodes while we make the move and get the new studio set up in Redding. This little song, “We Are Moving,” is our fun way of saying: We’re not going away—we’re just changing addresses! Thank you for walking this journey with us. Keep us in your prayers as we make the move, and don’t wander too far… We’ll see you again soon—from Redding, California! ❤️🎙️ — Deacon Pat Kearns The Catholic Journey #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #WeAreMoving #ReddingCalifornia #Sacramento #NewBeginnings #NewChapter #TrustGod #CatholicPodcast -
When All You Can Do is Trust God 02.10.2026 12Min.Sometimes we reach a point where we've prayed, planned, worried, tried to fix things—and still don't know what comes next. That's when faith becomes very simple: “Jesus, I trust in You.” In the final episode of our When Faith Meets Real Life series, we reflect on what it means to trust God when we don't have the answers, can't see the road ahead, and have done everything we know how to do. Trust doesn't mean understanding everything. It means believing that God is still with us—even in the uncertainty. This episode also marks a transition for The Catholic Journey. Liz and I are moving from Sacramento back to Redding, California, and the recording studio is moving with us! Because of that, I'll be taking a short break from the daily episodes while we get moved and the new studio set up. We're not saying goodbye. We're simply beginning another chapter. Thank you for walking with me through this series. Until we meet again from Redding, remember: You don't have to know where every road leads. You just have to trust the One who does. 🎙️ When All You Can Do Is Trust God The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #TrustGod #JesusITrustInYou #CatholicFaith #FaithMeetsRealLife #NewBeginnings #ReddingCalifornia #CatholicPodcast -
When You Need To Begin Again 02.10.2026 12Min.Sometimes life doesn't turn out the way we planned. A door closes. A relationship changes. A season ends. We move, retire, lose someone, make a mistake, or simply realize that life is asking us to go in a different direction. And suddenly we have to begin again. In Episode 17 of The Catholic Journey, we talk about the courage it takes to let go of what was and trust God with what comes next. Beginning again doesn't mean forgetting the past. It means taking the memories, lessons, love—and even the scars—with us while believing that God is still writing our story. You are not too old. You are not too late. And your best days don't necessarily have to be behind you. Sometimes an ending is simply the place where God begins something new. 🎙️ Episode 17: When You Need to Begin Again The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns Next, we conclude this series with one final reflection: When All You Can Do Is Trust God. #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #BeginAgain #NewBeginnings #TrustGod #CatholicFaith #FaithOverFear #GodIsNotFinished #CatholicPodcast -
I Choose Happy 30.09.2026 3Min.Today, I choose happy. ☀️ Life isn't perfect. There will always be problems, disappointments, and things we can't control. But we can choose what we focus on—faith, gratitude, kindness, family, laughter, and the blessings God has placed right in front of us. My new song, “I Choose Happy,” is a reminder that happiness doesn't mean pretending everything is okay. Sometimes it simply means refusing to let the difficult things steal all the joy from today. Trouble can knock, but it doesn't get the key. Choose gratitude. Choose joy. Choose life. And today… choose happy. ❤️ — Deacon Pat Kearns The Catholic Journey #IChooseHappy #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #ChooseJoy #Gratitude #Faith #Happiness #CatholicFaith #GodIsGood -
When Death Becomes Real 30.09.2026 10Min.We all know that life will someday end—but there comes a moment when death stops being something distant and suddenly becomes real. In this episode of The Catholic Journey, we reflect on grief, our own mortality, and the incredible hope Christ gives us: death does not have the final word. Maybe remembering that life is temporary isn't meant to frighten us. Maybe it's meant to remind us to live—to love deeply, forgive quickly, cherish the people around us, and trust that beyond the Cross is the Resurrection. 🎙️ When Death Becomes Real The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #CatholicFaith #EternalLife #Grief #HopeInChrist #CatholicPodcast -
When You Wonder If Your Life Made A Difference 29.09.2026 10Min.Have you ever looked back over your life and wondered, “Did any of it really matter?” In Episode 15 of The Catholic Journey, we reflect on a truth we often forget: the greatest difference we make may be found not in our accomplishments, but in the people we loved, encouraged, forgave, and helped along the way. We may never see the full impact of our lives—but God does. We plant seeds. God takes care of the harvest. 🎙️ When You Wonder If Your Life Made a Difference The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #CatholicFaith #Faith #Purpose #MeaningOfLife #GrowingOlder #GodsGrace #CatholicPodcast -
It's Not Too Late To Go Into The Vineyard 27.09.2026 12Min.It’s Not Too Late to Go Into the Vineyard Have you ever said “no” to God? Maybe through anger, fear, pride, disappointment—or simply by walking away. In Matthew 21:28–32, Jesus reminds us of something incredibly hopeful: your first answer does not have to be your final answer. No matter how long we’ve been away, how many mistakes we’ve made, or how many times we’ve resisted God’s call, the Father continues to invite us into His vineyard. You cannot change yesterday. But you can change your answer today. The Father is still calling. The vineyard is still open. And it is never too late to say, “Yes, Lord. I’ll go.” — Deacon Pat Kearns #Catholic #CatholicFaith #Gospel #Homily #Matthew21 #Faith #Conversion #GodsMercy #Jesus #CatholicJourney -
These Years Look Good on You 26.09.2026 4Min.These Years Look Good on You is a celebration of growing older—not as something to fear, but as something to be grateful for. The years leave their marks, but they also bring wisdom, memories, laughter, love, and a deeper appreciation for what really matters. Every wrinkle has a story, every gray hair represents another season lived, and every year is another gift from God. We may not look like we did years ago—and maybe that’s a good thing. We’ve loved, learned, struggled, grown, and become more fully who God created us to be. So here’s to getting older with gratitude, faith, and a smile. These years look good on you. ❤️ #TheseYearsLookGoodOnYou #GrowingOlder #GratefulForLife #FaithAndLife #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns -
Goodbye Lil White Kia Rio 26.09.2026 3Min.Today I said goodbye to an old friend. ❤️🚗 I sold my little white Kia Rio today. I’ve had it since 2016, and even though it was just a car, it was harder to watch it go than I expected. It started out as Granny’s car, and somehow became part of my own story. For ten years it carried me through everyday life, mile after mile, eventually reaching more than 150,000 miles. It certainly had its personality. 😂 The airbag light that refused to go away. The gas gauge that would drop to empty right after I filled the tank—only to magically come back a few miles later. Cruise control gave up years ago. The check-engine light liked to visit whenever it felt lonely. And lately, the engine had developed a few interesting sounds of its own. But that little Kia kept going. And somehow it still managed around 30 miles to the gallon! So I wrote this song as a funny farewell to a car that gave me a lot more years and miles than I ever expected. It’s strange how something as ordinary as a car can become connected to so many memories. Maybe that’s why saying goodbye is a little harder than I thought it would be. Thanks for the ride, little Kia. You did good. ❤️ And Granny… I took pretty good care of your car. Well… mostly. 😂 🎵 Goodbye, Little White Kia 🎵 -
When We are Getting Older 25.09.2026 10Min.When You Are Growing Older Growing older can bring changes we never expected—slower bodies, changing roles, losses, memories, and the realization that there may be more years behind us than ahead. But aging isn't simply about what we're losing. It can also be about what we're gaining: wisdom, perspective, gratitude, deeper faith, and a clearer understanding of what truly matters. In Episode 14 of When Faith Meets Real Life, we explore how God continues to work in every season of our lives—and why growing older doesn't mean our story is ending. 🎙️ The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns Growing older isn't the end of your purpose. Did My Life Make a Difference 25.09.2026 5Min.🎵 Did My Life Make a Difference? As the years pass, many of us eventually ask a deeply personal question: Did my life really make a difference? Maybe the answer isn't found in accomplishments, titles, recognition, or whether the world remembers our name. Maybe it's found in the people we loved, the hands we held, the prayers we offered, the forgiveness we gave, and the moments we were there when someone needed us. We may never see all the lives we've touched—but God does. This song is a reminder that a life lived with faith, love, kindness, and service leaves ripples that can reach far beyond what we'll ever know. Maybe heaven holds the stories we never got to see. ❤️ — Deacon Pat Kearns The Catholic Journey #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #DidMyLifeMakeADifference #CatholicFaith #FaithJourney #ChristianMusic #FaithMeetsRealLife #Legacy #Purpose #GodsGrace -
When You Have To Let Go 23.09.2026 9Min.When You Have to Let Go Sometimes the hardest act of faith is simply opening our hands. We hold onto people, dreams, hurts, memories, and seasons of life that have already changed. But letting go doesn't mean they didn't matter—it means trusting God enough to place them in His hands. In Episode 13 of When Faith Meets Real Life, we explore how surrender can free us from yesterday and open our hearts to whatever God has next. “Lord, I give it to You.” 🎙️ The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #WhenYouHaveToLetGo #FaithMeetsRealLife #LetGoAndLetGod #Surrender #TrustGod #CatholicFaith #Healing #Hope -
Choose Joy 22.09.2026 3Min.🌞 CHOOSE JOY! 🌞 Life won’t always be perfect. There will be good days, difficult days, laughter, tears, beginnings and endings. But through it all, there is still joy to be found. Joy is in our faith. Joy is in our families. Joy is in the people we love. Joy is in the simple blessings we sometimes overlook. This song, “Choose Joy,” is a reminder that we don’t have to wait for everything in life to be perfect before we allow ourselves to be happy. Today, I’m thanking God for Liz, Jeneah, Sean, Mackenzie, our family, and all the people who make this journey brighter. And my wish for each of you today is simple: May you find joy. May you choose joy. And may you share that joy with someone else. ❤️ God bless you all! — Deacon Pat Kearns The Catholic Journey #ChooseJoy #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #Faith #Family #Gratitude #Joy #Blessed #CatholicFaith -
When Life Doesn't Turn Out The Way We Planned 22.09.2026 10Min.When Life Doesn't Turn Out the Way You Planned Sometimes life looks nothing like we imagined. Doors close, plans change, prayers seem unanswered, and we find ourselves on a road we never expected to travel. But a changed plan doesn't mean a lost purpose. In Episode 12 of When Faith Meets Real Life, we talk about trusting God when the story changes—and discovering that He is still with us on the road we never planned to take. “Your purpose did not disappear simply because your plans changed.” 🎙️ The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns #FaithMeetsRealLife #TrustGod #CatholicFaith #GodsPlan #Hope #Faith #CatholicPodcast -
Pat You Are The Man 21.09.2026 2Min.What a way to celebrate 62! 🎂❤️ My brother Dan and Barbara Kearns surprised me by writing this song for my birthday, and I absolutely love it. Somehow they managed to fit a whole lot of my life into one song—faith, family, BBQ, motorcycles, writing, and maybe just a little bit of brotherly humor. As I turn 62, I’m reminded that the greatest gifts in life really aren’t things. They’re the people who have walked the road with us, shared the holidays, sat around the table, laughed at the stories, and loved us through all the different seasons of life. Dan and Barb, thank you for the song, the memories, and most of all, for being family. I love you both. And yes… apparently I am officially “a man of the Word and a man of the grill.” 😂🔥🏍️ Here’s to 62—and whatever God has planned for the road ahead! #Happy62ndBirthday #Family #Brothers #FaithFamily #BirthdayBlessings #Grateful #TheCatholicJourney #KingOfTheGrill -

62 years of Grace 21.09.2026 4Min.Today I turn 62. When I look back, I don’t just see years—I see a journey. I see a young Navy Corpsman, a nurse, a husband, a father and grandfather, a deacon, a writer, and a man who is still learning what it means to trust God. There have been beautiful chapters and difficult ones. There have been plans that worked out exactly as I hoped and others that God completely rewrote. Through all of it, one thing has remained constant: His grace. So I wrote this song, “Sixty-Two Years of Grace,” not because my story is finished, but because I’m realizing how much of it is still being written. At 62, maybe life isn't about proving anything anymore. Maybe it's about loving more deeply, slowing down enough to notice the blessings, holding the people you love a little closer, and trusting God with whatever comes next. Today, I’m simply grateful—for Liz, my children, my grandchildren, the people I’ve served and who have touched my life, and every road God has allowed me to travel. Sixty-two years behind me, a new chapter ahead, and by the grace of God… I’m still becoming me. #SixtyTwoYearsOfGrace #BirthdayReflections #StillBecoming #FaithFamilyGrace #TheCatholicJourney #DeaconPatKearns -
