Un podcast original de KEXP conducido por Albina Cabrera donde artistas de América Latina y de distintas escenas globales comparten el cancionero de sus vidas: las canciones que los formaron como personas y creadores. From the protopunk seeds of The Stooges with their Raw Power, leading us to the development of Colombian rock in Bogotá in the late 90s; to the university exchange of the Pixies' leader in Puerto Rico that led to the composition of much of Surfer Rosa, an iconic album of Latin American indie rock; and finally to the Scottish gem The Vaselines, a band popularized by Kurt Cobain's fanaticism and covers by Nirvana.   This special episode was recorded in November 2024 during Monkey Week, an independent music festival held annually in Seville, Spain, and it features the Galician band Triángulo de Amor Bizarro. In this episode, Albina explored the songbook of one of the most irreverent bands in the Ibero-American scene on their 20th anniversary, tracing the music that inspired them. Their influences include the raw rock energy of Los Saicos, a legendary band from Peru, as well as groups much closer to home in Spain.
