A selection of poems from Belgian symbolist poet Émile Verhaeren, translated from French by Alma Strettell. Most of the poems are from 'Les Villages Illusoires' (1895) and reflect Verhaeren's observations of everyday life and landscapes in his native Flanders. The selection also includes extracts from 'Les Heures Claires', a love poem for his wife, and poems from earlier and later volumes. The poems are read in English.
