  • Podcast #73 What's Going On Lately? 30.05.2022 1h 34m
Welcome back to the Not So Fresh Podcast, in episode 73 we discuss: • Given the unfortunate recent events in Uvalde, TX we take a moment to talk a little bit about what happened and voice our frustrations. RIP to the children and teachers who were taken from this world. • We talk about school systems and how one school in a sector of San Diego trains to handle dire situations that may arise. • It's Memorial Day Weekend and for you crossfit heads that means Murph is ready for you to pay dues! We go over a few workout tips on how to get through it. • Events that are going on around San Diego. A local record shop had their art show on Friday 5/27 and a lot of the SD Hip Hop crowd came out. We talk about whether Red Bull BC One around the world could have been promoted better. • A little banter about that Johnny Depp trial comes up, it's pretty funny how it all unfolds so we just mention all the hilarious crap that pops up in it. • There's a local dance instructor that plead guilty to lewd acts with minors. This is someone that is known around a lot of Southern California within the choreography scene that targeted young boys. Basically, fuck this guy. We go talk about the situation and give our take on it. • Claudia talks shit about how Padres fans get outnumbered in their own baseball stadium ala Petco Park. So we go into discussion why that happens and she realizes the Padres are the better team after the Padres just sweeped the Gigantes. • There is a lot more discussed on the podcast amongst all the bulleted info. As always we close the podcast with what we've been watching or listening to since the last podcast. Peace.
  • Not So Fresh Podcast # 72 Guest: Bboy Oso AKA Felix (Break Konnect) 09.05.2022 2h 34m
Apologies for the long hiatus but we are back! In epidsode 72 we discuss: • Felix and his creation of an app/site titled, "Break Konnect". www.breakkonnect.com How Break Konnect is a tool to connect and unite the breaking community through easier app sign ups. This is a project that Felix has had brewing for quite some time and is gaining a bigger role in jams/events around the world. • We jump into Felix the man, who is he? Is he the Russian bboy we all love? His origins in Brooklyn and how he came out to San Diego are discussed here. • His career in the design world, as a seasoned graphic designer Felix jumps into the ups and downs almost anyone in the design field may have experienced. His move to Argentina and traveling around to different places gained him a lot of experience in life and design. • Roxrite... is he still our homie? He denied our request for a Roxrite Googles section this time, but we're after you homie! We want that chon chon!! • There are a ton more subjects that we delve into from tangents and a lot more about Felix, we catch up with what the podcast hosts have been up to since it's been a long time from the last podcast. • Podcast #71 Guest: Eddie Styles (Rock So Fresh/Full Force) 17.05.2021 3h 5m
In episode #71 of the Not So Fresh Podcast we invite Eddie Styles into the podcast lair to discuss: • Eddie's background in San Diego as he is a born & raised in this city, a rare thing in SD nowadays! • Eddie's upbringing in the dance scene in San Diego. His first crew was Rainbow Groove..... All the way to Unique Rock, Funky Matters, Culture Shock days, Rock So Fresh, Jabbawockeez and Full Force. • The back in the days talk of San Diego, how dancers were housers/groovers/poppers/breakers. • We talk about a few key figures in the San Diego scene that danced and had big influences on the hip hop crowd. • The glory days of Rock So Fresh, how Eddie got down with RSF by battling E Swift and Optic at the now defunct Martini Ranch (shoutout Cros 1 & Charlie Rock for the Bus Stop) • Eddie's outlook on dance and how footwork and dancing was something he gravitated to it. Also how bboys in choreography crews took their styles from Eddie & Rainen in Culture Shock. • Eddie details his latest travels around the world battling in top level competitions such as Outbreak, how the pandemic affected the international dance scene and why younger cats aren't truly inspired in the dance. • Eddie managing other dancers and his online presence on IG to create and inspire others. • We go off on many tangents as usual, there's a lot of RSF history, Jabbawockeez years and personal opinions throughout the podcast... the usual Not So Fresh podcast stuff such as diet/training/workouts and lifestyle. There is too much to type out for this outline so please listen in! Holler at Roxrite on IG and tell him to get his ass back on the cast!
  • Podcast #70 The Legend of Joey Gold. Special Guest: Optic 01.03.2021 3h 10m
In podcast #70 We invite Bboy Optic to the podcast along with a deep conversation with Joey Gold. • We start off with an interview with Optic on his background and how it relates to dance. • We have Joey Gold join in on the podcast, if you aren't aware of who Joey Gold is listen in. He was in the San Diego Bboy scene from the early 2000's to his exit from San Diego in 2008. He was a formidable figure in the breaking scene within San Diego. • Joey is an artist, dancer, etc. We go into his time coming up in Arizona and how he came to San Diego with a mission to prove himself in the SD breaking scene. • At the time Joey was hunting the best bboys in San Diego. Hear about his time calling out Tuff Rocking E Swift to battle & having Rainen throw fierce hadouken fireballs at him. • Joey was a candidate for Rock So Fresh, although he didn't become a member of the crew hearing what was going through his head during those moments clears up the air for a lot of us. • We get into how the breaking scene is now, we discuss how the music is now and the way breakers present themselves. Is it all silly to us now? Has it taken a turn for the worse? • Growth is important, over the past decade plus a lot of us have progressed onto other things like family and kids... however we still take a part of our breaking with us into our future. • Joey Gold had an influence on a lot of dancers and how RSF approaches dancing, then he took a French Exit from San Diego. • Optic discusses his view on a lot of what is going on with dancers are doing now. Want to hear what he thinks about breaking in the olympics?! It's a very good discussion. • Optic opens up about why he left Rock So Fresh. Is it still a crew? • We realize we're all on the same page about social media for dancers.... are we in the age of tik tok breakdance? • Plus much much more!! Tune in! Guest appearance by Beat Puppets E-Van Damme for this podcast! • As usual we wrap up the discussion with what we've been listening to or watching since the previous podcast. Optic loves to listen to Gay Ray! Or is it Ray Gay? Anyways tune in. Shout out to Whack Donuts! Is he a sponsor? Maybe he'll send us more donuts since we shouted him out!!! Thanks to Joey Gold & Optic for taking the time to chat and open up about a lot of things some of us didn't know about. Peace - Destijl
  • Podcast #69 Saso's Favorite Number 11.01.2021 2h 18m
In podcast #69 we discuss: • We start off the new year of 2021 by talking shit.... literally 15 minutes of talking about taking a deuce and how it affects our bowel movements. • We recap on our end of 2020 with what we did during the Christmas break. • Destijl talks about getting a website set up to start his online business as an xmas gift. Peep it at thirdvisual.com. Claudia got a bidet and gear for butt cleansing. Saso got a buncha love from his wifey, a Toyota truck hitch and a yeti cup. • What we missed the most during the lockdown. We actually miss going out and seeing homies, people watching and laughing at other faces. • Some places have defied the CA shutdown orders around the city, we weigh in on some of the business shutdowns and how it affects both sides. • 2021 started off like shit already, so we do chime in on the whole racist MAGA squad storming the capitol in DC. To our international listeners please understand not all people in AmeriKKKa are like the savages that pulled a terrorist coup klux klan. We understand the US is the laughing joke of the world, so please take it easy on us! • They banned Trump from all social media. Censorship? Justified? Tyrant inciting violence, would you let him keep that up? • So during all this craziness with the capitol being under siege, we noticed Instagram "influencers", were still posting like everything is happy go lucky. Like hey the world is crumbling around us.. but hey look we're so happy fronting like life is easy on Instagram! • We go over what positives have come out of the pandemic. Like alcohol delivery became normal. Small businesses that were able to pivot and keep their biz adjusted for at home workers. An example is our good friend Whacko in SF that started his donut biz during this time. Sadly a lot of places closed down and we mention those local spots we miss. • We mention those who passed away in 2020 that had an impact on us. So I've been criticized for giving the whole podcast away in my summaries haha, i'll let you guys tune in to hear what we went into depth with during this podcast. Shout out to all our international listeners in Japan, Korea, Thailand, Ireland, Netherlands, etc. At the end of 2020 it seemed people were passing away by the day. We want to give a big shoutout and REST IN PEACE to the one and only KUTFATHER. He is a staple in the San Diego hip hop culture and always will be, thank you for being a major factor in this city. #RIPKUFATHER #RIPKUTPADRE Also, #RIPMFDOOM one of the best and unique figures to grace the mic.
  • Podcast #68 Guest: Cros One (Freestyle Session/Armory Massive) Side Hustles 23.10.2020 3h 29m
In episode #68 of the Not So Fresh Podcast we invite Cros One back into the studio for a second time to discuss: • Cros recently wrote part two of his numbered blogs about side hustles. We recently talked about some of the hustles he's been into so he schools us on some of them. • Cros just came back from Alabama for the World Games with breaking included. • Cros goes over why his achilles tendon is fucked up. Cros has done martial arts and wrestling for most of his life and defended himself from 3 attackers in front of Red C Lounge years ago. After throwing these guys to the side like some rag dolls he felt his achilles had been ruptured. • Cros discusses how most bboys lives are weekend driven, during the mid week is a very viable option to jump onto app based methods of the daily grind. Cros signed up for Postmates, the food delivery app. He then signed up onto Roadie, an airline luggage delivery app where he was able to make a lot of extra money pre pandemic. • Shipt is a grocery delivery app that also has BevMo, that created a great opportunity during the peak of covid. Most people are buying a ton of alcohol during quarantine. • Cros took up buying stocks during this time as well. Mainly diversifying his stocks and buying when everything dropped, then waited until another peak once things got better. • Cros bought a lemon, a Hyundai Sonata electric that went under after 9 months of ownership. He was able to hustle Hyundai to pay for everything and take the car back!!! Through twitter he was able to complain and receive his money back. • Cros also hustled CarMax for his Lexus ES300, it was priced for a car at 31,000 miles when it actually had 13,000 miles. The price difference is a landslide on a graph chart so he made out good. • Cros has FOUR cars and posted all of them on the Turo app which is an Airbnb for automobiles. He has been able to make money by renting his Porsche (sorry baller), Lexus, and two Toyota Prius. Breakdance moneyyyyy!!!!! • Saso had an old co worker hit him up asking for money.... just straight up... so that's a side hustle I guess!!!!!! HAHAHAHA • Cros talks about how he bookmarks his travels by beginning and end. In between those dates he books other gigs in that same area with different promoters. Hustling DJ, judging, and other gigs. • DJ's trying to get in on other DJ's gigs...... side hustle or just annoying? 1 Million DJ's vying to play on the same night in the same city? Probably annoying right? We discuss....... also will Cros ever do a Twitch live stream?! • Cros got a gig at Rich's in HIllcrest. Hillcrest is the LGBTQ neighborhood in San Diego and Cros says the livest crowds are there! • Club and bar closures in San Diego, yeah it sucks. So we reminisce about a lot of the bars/clubs we frequented or DJ'd at in the past. Remember Martini Ranch with The Bus Stop? Landlord Jims? Blue Tattoo? Club Rio? • Cros gives his thoughts on the positives that have come from the quarantine/pandemic. People were able to take a break from their busy schedules and realize family time is important. • Claudia the Venezuelan Vixen gives a little bit of financial advising during our program to give us an idea of her main hustle. Some of you busted ass bboys need to get a retirement plan in place so give our girl a call! • How it is currently for Cros to not be traveling for work right now. Cros normally would be gone 2-3 weeks out of the month for bboy related events. Are his plans totally messed up? • What happened to the physical locations for The Armory? Cros had a physical store located in Pacific Beach and in Downtown San Diego. • We talk about how we met Junior Boogaloo and how the hell he looks so damn young when he's in his 50's. The skinniest Samoan we know! We talk about how he made Motion Sickness and how he's traveled a ton for popping instructions/judging. As usual we close out with what we've been watching or listening to since the past podcast. Thanks for tuning in peace out! Destijl
  • Podcast #67 End of Summer Cast featuring Whack Donuts & Roxrite of Swiss (Renegades/Red Bull BC One) 17.09.2020 1h 46m
In podcast #67 the Not So Fresh podcast do a last of the summer podcast with a special call to Roxrite the Swiss Army Butter knife. In this podcast we discuss: • How our good friend and past podcast guest Whacko now has his own business. He started his donut craftery in San Francisco and has been selling out with curbside pick ups! He sent us each a box of Whack Donuts to try and we are very happy with the result. • Wildfires in CA are going wild, why are fools having gender reveals?! Do we really need to clean the forest floors of debris?! • Saso and his conspiracy theories. Aliend and UFO's comin' atcha! Did the Jabbawockeez experience a UFO flying with them? Or was it shrooms? • Pedophilia?! The new Netflix movie, "Cuties" is it something to avoid? Do we need to cancel out Netflix subscriptions because of one movie that pedals pedophilia to perverted populations? • On the subject of pedophilia... are there pedophiles in the breaking scene?! We've heard stories about, "famous" bboys hitting girls up with dick pics and unnecessary language. • Can you become a dance parent? Would you let some of that corny shit slide of taking your kid to events and making them dance. Drill sergeant style! • Trumptards, how are they so defensive for their dude when it comes to pedophilia? Or for anything he says for that matter? We bring up some politics then realize we don't want to talk about that bullshit. • We switch up to talking about Cobra Kai and Netflix, comparing to how it is with the OG movies in the 80's. • We bring up our pal Rainen and how he was famous in the Vietnamese community through, "Paris By Night". • Saso brings up famous Vietnamese singer Soytiet. Then plays some singing skills, THEN sings Soytiet's songs too!! • We facetime Roxrite so he can show us his shirtless stack poses. Then we just call him to talk shit. He's actually in Switzerland and being quarantined for looking too sexy on Instagram. We talk about breaking related topics such as online battles. • A man shot a doctor for making him cum.... we thought that doctor deserved a tip. JUST THE TIP! • We ask Roxrite if he ever ran into pedophiles in the hip hop scene. • Plus much more!! You have to listen in to get all the topics! As usual we close with what we've been watching and listening to since the last podcast! So tune in and hear Saso sing his Soytiet Quartet! What we've been listening to: Saso: DJ Shadow - Endtroducing, Your Mom's House Podcast, Cobra Kai. Claudia: Kingdom (the MMA series Netflix), 90's R&B/hiphop. Destijl: Soul/Gospel, Kingdom (MMA), The Boys Season 2, Samurai Marathon, Stranger (Korean Netflix). Peace - Destijl
  • Podcast #66 Guest: Godoyski RSF & SAKE IBM/Super B Beat Boys 21.08.2020 2h 45m
In episode 66 we go over a few topics while doing calls out to Rock So Fresh's own Godoyski and Super B Beat Boys' own Sake. We discuss: • How Saso was being recruited by Crazy Legs and a funny story from a San Francisco jam trip. • How members of the hip hop community are calling out non blacks and calling them "guests" in hip hop culture. Most of the heads calling out non blacks aren't really big contributors to the hip hop culture. What we've experienced within hip hop culture and from teachings of our elders that are from all types of backgrounds is that it is all inclusive. We go over our ideas on why people have brought up the whole, "guest in hip hop" statements. I mean the best b boys to ever do it are of Puerto Rican descent, some of the best in the world come from all parts of this earth. • How people are accusing Shia LeBouf of, "brownfacing" in his latest movie. We bring it up as a tangent but later on talk about this with Sake when we call him. • Hip Hop History class? What makes you a certified teacher to instruct students on hip hop and its history? • Why is it when someone from the hood tries to advance themselves like say attend a university for a degree, they get clowned for it? We discuss. • Also, when POC do certain things why is it that someone will tell you, "oh that's some white people shit". For example, joining a wine club or doing yoga, playing corn hole, listening to country mus.... wait that music's white as hell. • Claudia the Venezuelan Vixen got sick and cancelled the podcast for last week. We thought she was busted with the Covid, however she tested negative and it was just a bad cold. We go over how she did during that time. • Shoutout to our own NSF Podcast co-host DJ Son of Jarel of the Super B Beat Boys, he achieved his doctorate recently. We bring him up as our main source of info for the fight against Covid. • We call Godoyski out in Arizona and discuss what he's currently working on. He's currently working with a master's degree MFA and possibly towards a pHd in the near future. His recent projects have been posted on his instagram so check those out. Current projects have Godoyski working on the "inbetween space", specifically with letters and typefaces. He breaks down how he came upon the ideas of creating a project based on this space. Very inspiring to hear Godoyski break down his views on this project and how he draws design from breaking itself. We also talk to Godoyski about his workout routine and what he's been doing to stay in shape. • The importance of having friends post their workouts on social media. With a pandemic and quarantine causing everyone to do their workouts at home, we feel having friends post their workouts inspires others to get up and move. Claudia and Saso have been posting the stand up paddleboard workouts, I commented with, "that's some white shit".... Just playing, I did not. • We finally get Sake back onto the podcast via telefono. Sake believes the 5th Element of hip hop is farting. We bring up the white people shit talk for Sake to discuss. Sake breaks down the whole Shia LeBouf topic of playing a white cholo and how it actually was in Spring Valley back in the day. It was a normal thing for white homies to be down. Sake talks about the whole "being a guest in this culture", topic. He breaks down how it was in early days of graffitti where most of the writers were white or part of the punk rock scene. Is hip hop more of a style now than a culture? It seems to be taking a different direction away from being a culture. Sake brings us on some crazy tangents during his talk so listen into this one. What we've been listening to..... Saso: • Aloha Got Soul, some Hawaiian soul and funk brought to Saso's attention via DJ Son of Jarel. • Modern Love on Amazon Prime Claudia: • Hip Hop BBQ playlist on Pandora. Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix, Umbrella Academy. Art: • 90's R&B, Chali 2na & Krafty Kuts. Stranger on Netflix, Kingdom (MMA show) on Netflix.
  • Podcast #65 Covid Adaptations & Roxrite's Back in San Diego 20.07.2020 2h 58m
In podcast #65 the crew meets up and Roxrite comes into town to discuss: • Saso celebrates Disneyland's 65th Birthday with a little intro tribute to how much he loves Disneyland and black silk underwear. • We go over our obsession with alcohols and why Gin is the devil's drink. Why was Roxrite throwing up in front of Cros 1? Why did Saso black out on Hendrick's Gin? • How are people/businesses adapting to work during the pandemic? Restaurants moving everything outdoors and to go ordering, dancers/personal trainers doing class online, online battles for dancers? • Did the U.S. open up too soon? Covid cases and why bumfucks were crowding San Diego on 4th of July weekend. Did that push our numbers back up? • We talk about, "cancel culture", does one's actions really cause that person's history of accomplishments to be erased? Some we agree on and some we do not. We touch upon Crossfit CEO Greg Glassman's actions, Bambaataa, Bill Cosby, DJ Qbert, etc. • Corporations benefitting off of prison labor, we mention the documentary 13th and how men arrested for minor offenses such as marijuana are serving long prison sentences. • How are influencers doing during the pandemic? Are they able to promote via Instagram and continue a high volume of earnings? Are companies grabbing high volume influencers to promo certain products? Claudia breaks down how the influencer game works, we think she secretly has an IG influencer page she hasn't shown us. • What happened to the B Girls? We used to have a dope b girl community in San Diego... sooooo what happened to a thriving scene in this city? We reminisce about past b girls in SD and the females that would travel here for the Qween B jam thrown by Chyna and Sake. • Are you so hip hop that you would rock sneakers to the beach? We talk about hard core hip hop bros that can't wear flip flops to the beach because they're too hip hop for the beach yo. Saso was one of those guys wearing Timbs to la playa. • The whole Jeffrey Epstein case and perverts, do they exist in the hip hop culture? • Roxrite talks about his experience with Red Bull BC One and people asking him where he stands on Red Bull being quiet during a time of racial injustice and protests. • We go over a variety of subjects throughout the remainder of the podcast such as: anti-maskers, the CAREN Act, Karens in the wild, the idiot racist CEO that went off on a racist rant against a Filipino family in Carmel Valley near the bay area, the Will Smith/Jada Pinkett drama was mainly a marketing ploy for the dude that released an album and much more. • As usual we close out the podcast out with what we've been watching/listening to since the last podcast. Claudia listens to country.... so there's that. Roxrite listens to reggaeton, Saso watches scary stuff and Destijl is on a Seoulful Korean kick again. Once again thanks for listening in and remember Black Lives Matter, keep yourself informed and make a difference locally and globally. Go vote. In other words what the kids say nowadays... "stay woke". Keep us laughing on Instagram. Peace - Destijl
  • Podcast #64 (Whole Crew/QwestLA) 26.06.2020 3h 4m
In episode 64 of the Not So Fresh Podcast we discuss: • In studio guest QwestLA for a young person's perspective on things today. • We go over what we've been doing during quarantine and how we have picked up new habits, skills, workouts and more. Some of the new skills we've acquired are cooking, DJ'ing live on Twitch, creating music and all sorts of ill shit. • Adjusting to being able to get out to restaurants/bars. Although we don't condone going out too often, it may be needed to get out and do a few things out of the house. Wear your mask and take proper precautions! • Is California headed toward another major lockdown since Covid numbers are creeping back up? Is it really a 2nd wave if the first wave never really died down? • Professional insight on the current state of Covid 19 courtesy of NSF's resident Clinical Nurse Specialist AKA the Rebel CNS AKA DJ Son Of Jarel. The hospitals have been able to better prepare for incoming patients, our specialist weighs in on all the latest data. • We talk about the CEO of Crossfit and how he fucked up the branding of Crossfit by his remarks about George Floyd. This CEO Greg Glassman has had a history of being very insensitive during past events. Reebok pulled out of sponsoring Crossfit, gyms have pulled their affiliations and bros everywhere might cry. • DJ Qbert had a fall out with similar comments about recent events. He has come off as a Trump supporter and posted very insensitive tweets. Plenty of DJ's spoke out against Qbert and his recent online behaviors. • The Black Lives Matter movement and how we've learned more about it. What we can do to help via donations, sharing info, attending protests and more. • Racism in sports? Bubba Wallace is the only African American driver in Nascar and found a noose in his garage. QwestLA talks about attending NBA games in Utah where fans are shouting racist remarks to the players. Sports are making a comeback and this is a good platform for athletes to use to make their voices heard. • Red Bull BC One Champ Roxrite chimes in and talks about what he's been doing the past few months during quarantine. We talk to Rox about how their crew The Squadron came together to create an Instagram series of tutorials to raise money for a variety of organizations. • Perverts in the dance scene?! You don't say! Dance directors that have used their leverage to take advantage of younger dancers. A lot of people... errr dance bros are being outed by the people they've tried to take advantage of. More will be discussed in depth on a later podcast. • We go over more things and hit tangents so bear with us, it's been awhile and a lot of things have happened since our last podcast two months ago. Please go out to support black businesses and educate yourselves about everything going on in the world today. Black Lives Matter. Peace Destijl

  • Podcast #62 Covid Update & How The Breaking World Turned Upside Down With Roxrite 23.04.2020 2h 1m
In episode #62 of the Not So Fresh Podcast we have a Facetime cast with the whole crew! Yes ma'amsirrs the usual suspects plus DJ Son Of Jarel and Roxrite are all on the podcast this go around! In #62 we discuss: • Covid 19/Coronavirus. Yes you've heard a lot about it, maybe too much. However, we have a high ranking Clinical Nurse Specialist that oversees two ICU's and is on the front lines helping battle this virus. Yes DJ Son of Jarel is the most essential man from the NSF Podcast and drops a ton of knowledge about what's currently going on with his perspective from a very high volume hospital. • Is opening up parks, services to the public this week wayyyyy too early? We believe so, stay ya ass at home. • Covidiots? They were out in full force protesting around the nation and in downtown San Diego with their white hooded masks....errrrr confederate flags... errrrr picket signs? They demand the state of CA to re-open because they need haircuts, nevermind the pandemic killing people. • Son of Jarel goes over how the immune system reacts to covid 19 and how there's a difference from person to person in their response to how their body handles it. • We go over how the state of CA was able to shut down in response to the pandemic and how the requirements from the CDC have changed over the past month. • We do not like talking politics, but hey we take a stab at it! Just opinions so don't go punching your wall at home there buddy! • Roxrite is one of the most well traveled bboys in the world, he touches on how there has been a shift in the breaking world with no events to train for or attend. Have dancers lost their motivation to dance? Just because there is no big name event to show and prove? What happened to the days when bboys would just do it for fun? • Roxrite talks about an article titled, "How Eating Pussy Can Stop Covid 19". We swear this is not a "Roxrite Googles", section! • With all travel pretty much at a standstill and no events to attend, how does Roxrite pass his time? Are there other avenues for him to explore within the breaking scene and more? • Are online battles the new norm? Technology has taken us to great lengths in how we can share ourselves to the world in an instant, but with breaking competition does it fill the void? Roxrite explains. • Pick up some authentic Roxrite gear, follow him at Roxrite95 on instagram for more info. Will Roxrite take off with his Roxrite University? Listen in to see! • With this newfound time in quarantine, some of us have picked up new/old hobbies or skills. Is Saso the next J Dilla? Is Destijl creating the soundtrack to Brown Panther? Will Roxrite buy the new PS5? Why does Claudia care about the 49ers? Jose is busy saving lives so no joke there. • We all have our opinions on each topic so make sure to listen in! • As usual we close out the podcast with what we've been watching or listening to. Roxrite has an OnlyCams account, so tune in, wash yo hands, hide ya kids, hide ya wife, cuz Covid outcheah rapin ev boddy! Peace - Destijl
  • Podcast #61 Corona Virus By Us 16.03.2020 3h
In podcast #61 we sit down with the core crew and Saso's wife Tina joins us as we discuss: • We start off catching up after a month long hiatus, a previous podcast fell through so we'll make that up soon for you guys. • We catch up on Saso's wedding, yes that's right the man himself got married during our hiatus. The first half hour is a recap and us talking about their wedding. • Destijl gives a quick insight on how it was to attend the Kobe Bryant memorial at Staples Center on 2/24. The date being a ode to Gigi and Kobe Bryant's jersey numbers. A very humbling and sad gathering to honor the late basketball hero. • We recap a bit on what we talked about on the previous podcast, just to refresh listeners on what we thought was a very good episode about mental health. • We call in our own NSF podcast field reporter Mr. B Boy Roxrite. We catch up on how his diet and training has been, how he has been able to lose weight and keep the weight off. We also bring up how a ton of freelance workers and self employed people are dealing with the blow to their business amid the Corona Virus pandemic. Most international flights are grounded and many events worldwide have been postponed or cancelled. We get Roxrite's take on how this affects his line of work since he relies on flights around the world to judge or attend these events. • We also get blamed for being the culprits behind Roxrite's bad diet while he was in San Diego, he has moved to LA where they have shitty Mexican food. Thus making eating bad a difficult choice. • Of course we go into the Corona Virus/Covid 19 talk and how crazy people are with their actions. i.e. - lines at Costco, people fighting over toilet paper, hand sanitizer sellout, unnecessary doomsday stocking on items that most likely won't help, racism against Asians, the media hype causing mass hysteria, etc. etc. • Social media apparently handed out Medical School degrees in the past 2 weeks, so we go over what necessary actions people actually need versus what seems like a SNL skit. i.e. - wash your hands for 20 seconds vs. panic and buy sanitizer. • We have a quick guest spot from NSF's own medical staff. An emergency room nurse/pediatric ER/navyER/ etc etc... that gives insight into what is actually going on during this time with clinics and hospitals. Much more reliable than copy/pasting some unchecked article on Facebook. • Bboys and Bgirls have been what we call, "Instagram Pandhandling". Where they post up their Venmo/Paypal/CashApp handle and ask the public to send them money. We discuss if this is similar to just making a story up for money on GoFundMe or an actual way to be an Internet Pandhandler. • We talk about the funny memes that have gone around the net during this Corona Virus pandemic, the most famous one being, "If You Know Who This Guy Is Then You Have Some Fucked Up Friends". (Insert pic of buff black dude's face). Go look it up... it's funny... I promise. • We go over many other things as we always go off subject into multiple tangents while our brains are on IPA's and wine. So do listen in on this virus filled podcast! • As usual we end the podcast with what we've been watching and what we've been listening to since the last podcast. Peace! Wash your hands, don't over stock on unnecessary shit, self quarantine if you need it and don't share too much media hype that has gone unchecked! P.S. - One match missing out of matchbook doesn't always stop the fire! Sometimes that shit just burns... or was that gonorrhea? Anyways thanks for listening. - Destijl

Maruchan Ramen? Nissin Noodles? • Art's beginnings in school as a business student, then leading to becoming design student. • Art eventually got down with our bboy crew Rock So Fresh, we talk to him about how he got introduced to the crew. • Art's introduction to Rock So Fresh was through being an art intern for Miguel Angel Godoy, an artist/muralist that has roots in San Diego as well as Atlanta and now in AZ. • Miguel Godoy and how he was a big influence in our lives as a bboy, artist, human being, father, husband and more. There are people that unknowingly represent themselves as a model human, Godoy represents that. • We talk about toxic masculinity and the effects it can have. • Mental health is a big topic around the world. There are available therapists in all types of fields that help. We go over our own experiences with therapy and how it has helped us. • A lot of the discussions on mental health lead back to Kobe and his life model. i.e. - father of four daughters and how he led a great father/husband role. This happens through the podcast. • The idea of a man and how a man is supposed to be in the dating scene. Dating one and being done, falling in love? Or experiencing a variety of partners you learn from and eventually settle? • Toxic masculinity in the hip hop scene, homophobia and the problem with machismo. We reference back to an older podcast with our homie Jed. See podcast #30. • Art defines how traumatic experiences can affect a person throughout life. Emotional healing through therapy. • Mental health therapy should be practiced often just as your body needs a massage or relaxation. • Destijl and Art recount how they talked about couples therapy... inside of Pure Platinum strip club among strippers!!! • Communication and how it can be deciphered differently based upon the type of person you are. • Art breaks down the etymology of DEMON. Accepting your demons and not necessarily fighting them, but welcoming them in to become an ally. • The empathy of Americans vs. coming together in a tragedy. Is it just in the moment or does it last to let people show empathy in the long run. • Art drops a ton of knowledge based on his learnings in his journey to become a therapist. We go into depth on mental health, love, our experiences through therapy and more. Almost every angle we hit leads us back to talking about Kobe Bryant and how his life model is the ideal platform to look back on. The tragedy in the passing of Kobe has shed a lot of light on people around the world and how they really should lead their lives day to day. There have been multiple tributes, vigils and gatherings to honor the late Kobe Bryant as his life lessons affected many worldwide. There is so much more we talk about so listen in and laugh about our weird tangents that break off from all the therapy and Kobe talk. We also end our podcast with the usual ending of what we've been listening to since the last podcast. - Thank you Kobe Bryant for all the championships and life lessons we never knew we would embrace into our own lives. This one hurts, a lot.... but in this tragedy we've realized we must improve upon ourselves to better serve us and those we love. RIP MAMBA, Mambacita and all those involved. - Peace... Destijl out!
  • Podcast #59 Guest: Cwitch (Battlestar/Turntablist/DJ) 24.01.2020 2h 49m
In episode 59 of the Not So Fresh Podcast we welcome DJ Cwitch representing Battlestar Massive into the NSF Podcast studio to discuss: • We can't even count how many DMC Championships Cwitch has won. • How he got his DMC gold headshells stolen at Bluefoot Bar in North Park San Diego. • We talk about Cwitch's San Diego roots and how he got kicked out of high school. • Cwitch's beginnings with the DJ scene and how he and his friends hustled to get their first turntable setup. See titi scratchers. • Cwitch is the DJ for a local reggae band "Tribal Seeds". He talks about how he lives as a full time DJ and how to manage contracts and gigs. • We talk about how Cwitch spends his time getting ready for gigs and working with Sleeping Giant Music. • We somehow talk about Texas restaurant staple Whataburger and compare it to In N Out and various eateries. Another tangent. • Is Jollibee poised to take over as the number one fast food joint? • We talk about how hip hoppers are ashamed of their own feet, however Roxrite is modeling his feet in Thailand right now. • Cwitch and Saso used to spin together at gigs and talk about how fucked up they used to get and have beef with other dj's. • Cwitch's pet peeve of Instagram DJ's posing in photos but have no skills at all. • Dancer's doing the same social media posts to look like they're good, but suck shit. • We go over Cwitch's favorite DJ's and discuss our picks. • Cwitch is a native San Diegan... so Saso pisses him off by bringing up the Chargers and playing his favorite Chargers song. We also go on a sports tangent since the Super Bowl is coming soon. • Destijl and Cwitch talk about how they met in the late 1990's at CSL Record shop and an San Diego State University party. They reminisce about DJ nights around that area in the early 2000's. See Vortex and Turntable Lounge. • We talk about Cwitch's influences and favorite DJ's in the local scene of San Diego... Does he mention you?! • We talk about way more so listen in! Of course we close our podcast with the usual what have you been watching/listening to since the last podcast. Tune in for our suggestions. P.S. If you're in the San Diego area peep Cwitch out Sundays at West Coast Tavern spinning during the brunch. Starting 2/9/2020. Peace - Destijl
  • Podcast 58 - Decade Review 04.01.2020 2h 16m
In episode 58 it's the core crew of the NSF Podcast and we discuss: • We go over our personal stories and review what went down during the 2010's and review 2019. • We mention the obvious throughout the decade like the big Orange dude getting impeached from the White House, mention those that have passed in 2019, social media and more. • We lightly talk about Democratic candidate Andrew Yang since Destijl was wearing a MATH hat from the political campaign. • Somehow we went from talking politics to a ten minute discussion about TITTIES. Don't ask how, just listen. • We wonder if bboys will get their shit together and become punctual when it comes to breaking events. Last podcast Roxrite had an idea of how this can be improved and we debate why bboys in the US aren't on par with those of other countries. If people can pay to compete in other events... why can't bboys? • How bboys train so much and have high expectations to advance in battles, but once they don't was all the training worth it? Listen to our take. • We go off on so many different tangents because we were drinking more than usual, so listen in! • As usual we close with what we've been listening to since the last podcast. Happy new year mothafuckas!! New decade new nothing! Peace - Destijl
