  #110 - Propaganda Madness, Part 3, Side A 21.08.2026 37m

  This week’s episode focuses on the Pentagon’s propagandist-in-chief, Sean Parnell.  Parnell is someone we suspect you may never have heard of, but we think, upon thorough examination, he perfectly encapsulates a certain character type that could only really thrive in the Fourth Reich. Parnell is a self-described victim of “horrific” childhood bullying, which led him to an adolescence and young adulthood filled with self-described binge drinking, dirty living, and little awareness of what was even happening around him.   That all ended with 9/11. No, really. The guy actually credits the 9/11 attacks for his political awakening and decision to enlist in the army. So he enlisted and went to Afghanistan and later bragged about how many people his unit killed. Parnell’s affect is like that of a whinier J.D. Vance. It's like they cooked him up in the same factory as Vance, but he fell off the assembly line before production was complete. You can tell he doesn’t have the Ivy League polish the way Vance does, and he thinks that’s a good thing. But his performance is to act like he is an authentic guy who’s just as smart, if not smarter than the Ivies, when in fact he is tremendously, colossally dumb. He, of course, wrote a memoir with a “co-author” as a pathway to a political or media career before epically failing upward towards his current position as the official spokesperson for the Department of Defense. In Side A, we set the table on Parnell and provide some much-needed context.  Stay tuned for Side B, in which Don interviews a friend of the pod, Matt Farwell, about his coverage of Parnell. Let’s Get Digging.

  Well, it’s been almost 4 months since we’ve issued an episode in our Contra Iran series (not about Iran Contra), and yet it feels like there has been no real change in the status of the so-called “war” in Iran. (Of course, we eschew calling the US/Israeli illegal invasion without provocation a “war” at all.) Things seem trapped in a cycle of - fake ceasefire → stock market bounces → (usually) Israel keeps on bombing, burning, and looting ceasefire be damned → Iran asserts control over the strait of Hormuz → Trump says “no I’m gonna blockade YOU!” → Trump’s threats are empty and he backs down → rinse, repeat.We talk about the actual factual updates that have taken place over the past couple of months to illustrate just how insane this operation really is. We think it is important to have some information at the ready to support the obviously correct communist position against this imperial war.  If we are going to have any success opposing the war from a Marxist perspective, we must first analyze it using the tools of dialectical historical materialism. So that’s just what we do: who’s doing what, who’s benefiting, where are the potential weaknesses in the imperialists’ armor. We then take stock of where things stand now, the lamentable state of affairs besetting the people of Iran, and the people of Lebanon, of Palestine. And we even get into a little prognostication about what might be coming down the pike. How will the cycle be broken? By peaceful transfer of power away from Trump? We also consider the continuity between both parties, and the recurrence of the type of mendacity we see from the Trump administration throughout history.Don’t miss it!!!   It's our birthday! Hooray for year two! And considering the monumental occasion, we decided it is time, yet again, for some R&R. This week, we shut off our lamps, hang up our hard hats, and take some time to reflect on the past year, the present moment, and what’s to come.  We also take this occasion to revisit a highlight reel of some of our favorite mashups, clips, and cold opens from the past year. Since our very first episode, our view has been that it is high time that we wise up and realize that there is a complete disconnect between the purported ideals of the United States and the reality of the actions taken by the American government, namely the horrific history of enslavement, exploitation, and the series of successive genocides.  It is now, more than ever, difficult to square the American ideals of truth, justice, and equality with the American actions of slavery, genocide, and forced migration. In this episode, we take it back to the basics and reflect on what this project means to us and what we consider its core values.  As a result, we think this episode is another good one to help new listeners dip their toes in our project.  Because we walk through the foundational pillars, new listeners will leave with a capsule course on what Fourth Reich Archaeology is all about. And what it is all about is friendship. As we say many times in this episode, this project is powered by friendship–the friendship shared between Dick and Don, but equally important is the friendship we've forged with all of you who tune in week after week and, dare we say it, year after year. Here is to a happy birthday and to many returns!

We continue connecting dots that others who’ve covered the assassination attempt didn’t even see.            Before signing off on this one we read into the record excerpts from the 1979 prison interview (on file with the hosts), which offer the only record evidence of Sara Jane addressing the issue of her early life and marriages.   We are back this week with another installment of She Harvey Oswald. Buckle up friends, because from here on out our series-within-a-series on the two would-be female assassins who set their sites on President Gerald Ford is going to get increasingly and precipitously weirder. In this episode we start with a little scene setting by covering Project Bluebird—that Cold War era CIA backed mind control program that was the predecessor to Project Artichoke, which then evolved into the infamous Project MKULTRA. Remember, our protagonist, Sara Jane Moore (nee Kahn), presented a highly interesting psychological/neurological profile: she suffered recurrent fainting spells, followed by bouts of amnesia. And given her enlistment in the military-affiliated Civil Air Patrol at the tender age of 15 (not to mention her dad’s employment with weapons manufacturer DuPont Chemical), she was on Uncle Sam’s radar from jump. During the time period covered in this episode, Sara Jane Kahn Anderson divorces her first husband, Wally Anderson, shortly after her White House amnesia episode. At just about the same time, she starts a relationship with a man 17 years her senior, a Captain in the U.S. Air Force with connections to the psy-war of his own… Sydney Lewis Manning. This episode presents probably the single deepest dive on Manning, the father of FOUR of Sara Jane’s forgotten children. We’re connecting dots that others who’ve covered the assassination attempt didn’t even see. Well, not exactly, but that is the through line in this episode, in which Dick is joined by Isaac to discuss the 2026 World Cup and the mafia that runs it—FIFA. In what we are sure you will find a delightful, refreshing, and entertaining change of pace, Dick and Isaac chop it up about FIFA’s history of scandal and brazen corruption, its track record of aligning with fascists and despots, and its sports washing of obvious human rights violations. The fellas also spend some time on Video Assisted Review (VAR) and how it is yet another example of how technology is being deployed as a tool for oppression.   It’s that time of year again, this time with the pathetic spectacle of Trump-Amerika’s 250th birthday bonanza in the background. But rather than just taking the easy pot-shots at the absolute horror and humiliation on display, we discuss a few of the concrete failures of this “experiment” in “democracy” that inform our consideration of whether there is anything to salvage of the institutions atop this melting glacier of an empire. We begin, predictably, with the utter failure of the empire’s aggression against the people of Iran. Trump lives in a world where his say-so makes it true that the U.S. military “did an amazing job” and the like, and millions of people choose to join him there, whether out of old-fashioned greed, or out of some bizarre lust for humiliation, or maybe just because we are so conditioned to confer authorities unto the powers that be without question… Since Trump couldn’t defeat Iran in War, he tortured their soccer team. We also cover a few of the Supreme Court cases showing what a failure “the courts” are against abuses of power, both presidential and corporate. This term alone, the Supreme Court has (1) gutted the voting rights act, (2) aided in the mass expulsion of TPS immigrants, (3) expanded presidential control over regulatory agencies, (4) given (IG Farben) Bayer/Monsanto a licence to poison people with RoundUp, and much more. With checks and balances like these, who needs checks and balances?We end on a positive note. Do data center protests - encapsulating so well the deserved sense of anger against tech-surveillance-pervert-billionaire freaks - light a path forward? Maybe, we’d like to think so.Happy holidays, one quarter-century is quite enough, thank you. We need to start this thing over again, but this time NOT on the basis of genocide and slavery–on justice and liberation. We can do this; we can declare independence.

  We are back to our series-within-a-series on the two would-be female assassins who set their sites on Gerald Ford, and we are now getting deep into the second of these–the real “She Harvey Oswald,” Sara Jane Moore (aka Sara Jane Kahn, aka Sally Moore aka Sara Jane Kahn Anderson, just to name a few of her many aliases). Last time, we set up Moore’s Fourth Reich roots with her father’s work in the military industrial complex for DuPont chemical in West Virginia’s chemical valley. This week, we examine Sara Jane Kahn’s early life and explore how she might have gotten on the radar of deep-state forces from a young age.We track the parallels between Sara Jane and Lee Harvey Oswald, just a few years her junior. Like Oswald, Sara Jane joined the Civil Air Patrol as a teen. We do a deep dive on the CAP, both its national founding and the West Virginia wing. Also like Oswald, Sara Jane joined the military almost right out of high school. She also married young, but that first of several marriages would not (like Oswald’s) last until death. Her marriage lasted just long enough to spoil her chances at attending officers training school, but she was also medically disqualified due to a highly unusual condition: Sara Jane suffered from recurring fainting spells accompanied by bouts of amnesia.Since we pull out original research that has nary been reported elsewhere, we don’t want to give away too much right here in the episode description.   Is this real? Our podcast, our humble lil’ spare-time project, has hit 100 episodes. We’re amazed that two guys with no budget and zero experience could earn the support of so many listeners. In this episode, we pause to reflect and celebrate. But it is not all fun and games. No, as our long-time listeners will already know full well, there is a great degree of urgency driving our mission over here. We are on the precipice of the last best chance for free-thinking, freedom-seeking human beings to turn the tide against our venal, corrupt, and blood thirsty overlords.  In short, yer boyz got no time to stop and smell the roses. So we take this momentous occasion as an opportunity to revisit some of our foundational principles. The familiar concepts that make up our Fourth Reich Archaeology thesis. Whereas Squeaky’s old man worked for Northrup aircraft, Sara Jane’s daddy was a DuPont man in West Virginia’s “chemical valley,” dubbed “cancer valley” by the long-suffering locals. And DuPont played an instrumental role in not only the allied victories in the two world wars, but also in the technological advancement of the Nazi regime that popped off old WWII in the first place. It’s a tangled web we weave, and one that takes some time to develop, but when you see the full picture, we are confident you’ll be as awed as we’ve been to uncover all the multifarious connections that make this story one of the most compelling in all of Jerryworld.   We are taking a hard turn this week and covering a topic that we would ordinarily have no business covering: sports. Or, more specifically, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The immediate reason for doing a UFC episode is the upcoming “Freedom 250” fight extravaganza set to take place on the White House Lawn, at the express invitation of Donald Trump, for which UFC CEO Dana White has gone on a media promotion tour. It would be one thing if White was promoting the event amongst the typical UFC-friendly media outlets in the Joe Rogan manosphere, but he is branching out to the mainstream liberal media in a fascinating way. In this episode, we analyze White’s interviews with liberal outlets like NPR, the New Yorker, and the Breakfast Club, among others. To us, it looks a lot like Dana White and the UFC are serving as a bridge to create a new Blue-Brown alliance between MAGA and a liberal establishment coming to grips with the fact that the hard right MAGA movement now IS the Republican Party, and it’s not going away anytime soon. As we cover in the episode, it’s no surprise that the UFC has become a cultural bandage poised to heal the breach between left and right as we collectively stumble into ever-lower depths of hell. It reflects the classic American values of brutality, faux-equality of opportunity, and the myth of might makes right. Besides titillating audiences with the spectacle of bloodsport, of course. BUT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE!!! The history and ownership structure of the UFC places it at the beating heart of the Fourth Reich: it’s rooted in the military industrial propaganda complex, it’s passed through the skeezy filth of off-strip Las Vegas and Trump’s Atlantic City, and it’s now a global property held by a consortium of private equity capital fronted by Rahm Emanuel’s brother, Ari, the Hollywood super-agent who straddles the line between Clintonite neoliberalism and Trumpian fascism. Ari Emanuel was also the inspiration for “Entourage” protagonist Ari Gold.We dig into this incredibly rich tapestry that weaves together multiple nodes in the ruling class nexus that’s driving us all off a cliff of insanity and have a few laughs along the way.   This week we are again taking a break from our historical excavations for an intervention into current events. Our venal overlords and their propaganda apparatus wants you illiterate. They want you to be cognitively unable to think about multiple facets of American imperialism at once, unable to make connections between world events, and ultimately unable to do anything to stop, punish, or prevent their continuous crimes against humanity. But Fourth Reich Archaeology seeks to be your antidote to their mind poison, so this week we’re going on a hemispheric world tour to take stock of what we and other comrades have been calling “Operation Condor 2.0” - the American (and Israeli) project to squash any signs of popular sovereignty, democratic self-government, or economic independence in “America’s back yard.”We begin our discussion in Cuba, where the U.S. has been seeking to overthrow the revolutionary government ever since it won power under the leadership of Fidel Castro over 65 years ago. Under the corrupt imperialistic worm-infested regime of President Donald Trump, the U.S.’s war against the Cuban people has ramped up exponentially. The fully prone propagandist media is now peddling lies reminiscent of the type of false flags contemplated by Operation Northwoods, which President JFK rejected way back in the early 60s. We cover the absurd “Cuban drones” scare, as well as the outrageous indictment leveled against the 94-year-old Raul Castro for the crime of defending Cuban sovereignty from CIA-backed terrorists. Trump’s government of sickos is likely going to murder, torture, and humiliate the revolutionary icon to provoke a pretext for more violence against the Cuban people. More than ever, we need to speak out in solidarity.We then move down South America way to discuss the tragic capitulation of the remnants of the Bolivarian revolution in Venezuela to the U.S. empire, as well as the Bolivian people’s struggle against right-wing austerity and the imperial plot to murder former indigenous President Evo Morales. Then it’s up to central america, specifically Honduras, where leaked audio–largely suppressed in the U.S. media–shows the country’s rightwing political elite openly conspiring to enrich American multinational corporations to return Donald Trump’s favor of tipping the country’s elections to the far right and freeing narco-ex-president Juan Orlando Hernandez. The recordings also discuss manipulating the media on an international scale to weaponize information against “left” governments like those in power in Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia. Behind all of this neocolonial maneuvering is the same old cast of characters. The powers behind the throne. Peter Thiel and the tech-mafia are actively pulling strings to immiserate the people of latin america, enslave them in “special economic development zones,” and destroy their natural environment through the unregulated expansion of extractive and polluting industries, including data centers. This is a pretty bleak episode for the bleak times we’re living in. We can’t wait for 2028 - no presidential election will solve the crisis the fascist ruling class is imposing on the entire world. We need solidarity, we need knowledge, and we need action.   This week, we are taking a break from She Harvey Oswald as we prepare to launch the second half of that series-within-a-series focused on its namesake–Spooky Sara Jane Moore–very soon. Meanwhile, we are coming in hot with a fun, cathartic rib-session on Trump’s cabinet of horrors. As “professionals” practicing law, we often find ourselves conversing with liberal-minded folks who are plenty cynical and horrified by the corruption and idiocy of the second Trump administration, but who nevertheless go about their business “respecting institutions” and, by extension, the people on whom those institutions confer authority. People may consider Trump and his fawning pack of yes-men and women pathetic, disgusting, dishonest, incompetent, and so on, but nevertheless go along with the cabinet’s policy prescriptions because they are taken pursuant to the authority entrusted to them by the system of government.We say enough. In this episode, we model the disrespect we believe forms the bare-minimum prerequisite to the type of questioning of authority that is essential to breaking masses of people out of the hypnotic spell of the spectacle. Not in the Gavin Newsom / Jacob Frey / Chris Murphy “F*ck Trump” cheesy way, but in a serious way grounded in the immortal science of historical dialectical materialism. In a way that recognizes the criminality of these ghouls in the context of a bipartisan ghoulish consensus that has persisted with great help from the Democratic side of the aisle. We’d have loved to burn through the whole cabinet, but in this episode we ran out of time after roasting “Lil’ Narco” Marco, Pete “Hogsex” Hegseth, Brainworms Bobby Kennedy, Tulsi Gabbard (listen through to hear her new Fourth Reich Archaeology coined nickname), and Krazy-eyes Kash Patel. It is hard to think seriously about such a cavalcade of clowns, so we hope this episode will serve as something of an exorcism to the demonic pull of passive spectatorship and inspire contagious disrespect for these utter freaks and psychos.   It just so happens that She Harvey Oswald is more timely than ever, as yet another person - Cole Thomas Allen - has been charged under the same statute as our protagonist, Squeaky Fromme, 50 years ago.   It’s the end of the line for Squeaky, as this week we wrap up our tale on the first of the two would-be assassins who, in September 1975, pointed their pistols at President Gerald R. Ford.  In this episode we pick things up on the morning of September 5, 1975, just moments after Squeaky is taken into custody for making an attempt on our boy Jerry’s life. We begin the tale on the eve of Ford’s visit to Sacramento from Squeaky’s point of view. Squeaky was, to say the least, frustrated with how things were going. Charles Manson’s newfangled quasi-religion known as ATWA (Air Trees Water & Animals), of which Squeaky and her Sac-town roommate Sandy Good were the prime exponents, was falling flat. Prison authorities were blocking Manson from receiving visitors or making public statements. And the media don’t seem to care about Squeaky and Sandy’s “International People’s Court of Retribution,” the threatening letters they were sending to corporate executives of polluting industries, or the environmental destruction being wrought in the Nixon/Ford era.We then turn to the event itself, Lyn’s arrest and pretrial phase, and the cast of characters in the drama that was her trial. It was truly a bizarre spectacle, which we compare and contrast with the “trial of the century” of Jack Ruby in Dallas. Spoiler alert: she’s convicted, and the whole story passes into the realm of spectacle.   As the fake veneer of a “ceasefire” in Iran dissolves under the acid of the truth, we’re back talking about the spectacle of this illegal, undeclared, murderous “war” against the people of Iran. We unpack the agreement that we’re supposed to believe precluded a civilization-ending super-attack, track how it quickly fell apart thanks to the perennial, serial ceasefire-breaker, Israel. We also discuss the internal dynamics in the administration and make some key predictions about personnel changes and who’s getting thrown under the bus. (Hint: one of them is going to be the guy who farted into a tv microphone.) Finally, we discuss the myth that Iran is a “fanatical,” “irrational,” “rogue” regime. Much of it dates back to the hostage crisis of 1979, but was that really such a crazy move by the newly empowered revolutionary student movement? It’s a packed and hopefully helpful discussion of the war that still threatens to bring the global economy to its knees all because our leaders are insane and evil, serving a ruling class that knows it’s about to have to oversee a fundamental economic shift to automation and is gambling with the lives of millions to test out new methods of violence, surveillance, and control.

  The mad emperor has lost his damn mind. The AmerIsraeli war machine has openly embraced international criminality to a degree unseen in our lifetimes as Trump rails on about his threats and plans to destroy civilian infrastructure, murder innocents, and destroy Iranian civilization by bombing the people of Iran “back to the stone age, where they belong.” This third installment of our Contra Iran series is really just a quick check-in on the situation - paying special attention to the spectacle of it all - before the situation changes yet again as it undoubtedly will this very week. We start out by deconstructing the web of lies woven by the sicko spiders in Trump’s imperial cabinet. We are sure to point out that many of these lies, which enable further lies to be built up around them, are bipartisan lies that have been pushed upon the American people for decades. Lies like the notion that Iran will stop at nothing to develop a nuclear weapon for the purpose of wiping Israel off the map. We then consider whether in fact there are any checks on Trump’s insanity. Unfortunately, he has removed a lot of the would-be roadblocks in his path, surrounded himself with equally venal yes-men and women, and enriched a psychopathic ruling class that sees even a disastrous and illegal war against Iran as a win for “Western Civilization.” If this is civilization, we want no part in it. Finally, we once again wade into the blame game and discuss who’s at fault for this epochal debacle: Is it Israel? Is it Trump? Is it the military industrial complex? And as always, we wind up eschewing the “pick-one” nature of this type of framing. It is one big power structure, representing the transnational ruling class, and acting in an utterly irrational, unhinged way.God help us all, and especially the people of Iran, who find themselves in the crosshairs of a power as stupid and insane as it is evil.The Iranian music here featured comes from the great artist Pari Zanganeh.
