Revelation 21:1-8 // Loneliness // 5 July 2026 05.07.2026 23minWhat hope does the gospel provide for us when we're worried about, or experiencing, the pain of loneliness? In the book of Revelation Jesus Christ meets John in the obscurity and isolation of exile and gives him a glorious vision of eternity with God, in God's place, enjoying God's presence in pure joy.Equipped with this vision, disciples of Jesus are able to trust in the God who dwells with us even now and even be the presence of God to another person experiencing the pain of loneliness.

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 // Giving Cheerfully // 28 June, 2026 28.06.2026 28minAs disciples of Jesus we want God's church to grow, we want the kingdom to grow, we want more people to hear and receive the good news of Jesus. But we may not know that such gospel ministry requires partnership and the stewardship of all our resources; not just time and talents, but our treasure (money) as well. But why and how can disciples of Jesus give cheerfully, and not out of a sense of fear, guilt or compulsion? The apostle Paul's letter to the cosmopolitan church of Corinth in the First Century can help us find out!

1 Timothy 6:6-10, 17-19 // Giving Generously // 21 June, 2026 22.06.2026 27minWhy are disciples of Jesus encouraged, even urged, to be generous? Here in 1 Timothy chapter 6 we find the motivation for biblical generosity and the meaning behind it. Within the command to be generous we also find the surprising invitation to enjoy the gifts God gives us and the truth that selfishness is poverty but generosity is true wealth.

Exodus 15:1-21 // The LORD reigns // 7 June, 2026 07.06.2026 26minWhat makes your heart sing? For people who know they have been rescued from slavery by a mighty Redeemer it's their newfound salvation that makes their hearts sing for joy. It's for good reason that the first thing the Israelites do following the extraordinary crossing of the Red Sea and destruction of their oppressors is to break out in praise to their warrior God who has fought for them and brought about their freedom. How should this remarkable song impact us today?

Exodus 13:17-14:31 // The LORD delivers // 31 May, 2026 31.05.2026 25minDo you feel more like a soldier or a slave? The parting of the Red Sea is perhaps a well known episode in the Exodus narrative, of the LORD's deliverance of his people from slavery under Pharaoh to serve Him, the true and living God. But as we delve more deeply into the narrative we begin to see how while they left Egypt feeling like soldiers they were still escaping their life as slaves. The Red Sea episode shows us how the LORD's deliverance involved not only trust in the LORD to lead them through the Red Sea but how closing the sea behind them showed them they were now free from their former lives and that they were about to embark on their journey as the LORD's redeemed people. Through the waters of judgment and salvation the LORD shows us the way to the cross of Jesus Christ.

Exodus 12:1-13:16 // The LORD redeems // 24 May, 2026 24.05.2026 28minOff the back of last week's nine signs and wonders against Egypt we would be tempted to think the greatest barrier to freedom for the Israelites was an earthly despotic dictator, poverty or oppression. But chapters 12-13 of Exodus show us that the greatest threat to Israel's freedom was the sin that would need to be dealt with if they were to enjoy the life with the just and holy Creator. The wave of death was poised to sweep through all of Egypt. What would protect them from the onslaught of destruction? The blood of the Passover Lamb.

Exodus 7-11 // The LORD conquers // 17 May, 2026 17.05.2026 22minHave you ever wanted God to send you a sign? What if he sent you not one but multiple signs? This was the case for Pharaoh in Exodus 7-11. But he got the signs he wasn't looking for as he came up against the mighty creator and redeemer, Yahweh.Ultimately, the signs and wonders we see here in Exodus 7-11 forewarn us of the final coming judgment. But they also signal this almighty creator is on mission to save and redeem those trapped in slavery to sin and death.

Exodus 5:1-7:7 // The LORD remembers // 10 May, 2026 11.05.2026 21minDo we know God as he really is, in all his power and glory?Moses and Aaron's first encounter with Pharaoh seems to make matters worse before they get better. Their preparation is instructive for us. But central to the story is the revelation of God's character, that he's faithful to his promises which entail rescuing his people from slavery.

Exodus 3-4 // The LORD appears // 3 May, 2026 03.05.2026 23minHow do we know if we are being called by God? What does God's calling entail? What signs accompany his calling? In Exodus 3-4 we see the LORD call Moses. His calling is accompanied by signs. Moses's calling and accompanying signs were given to assure his people of the salvation he was about to perform. Ultimately, Moses's calling, signs and promised salvation lead us to Christ, whom the Father sent as the Servant of our salvation to rescue us from sin and death. Now by the Holy Spirit, the LORD sends us out into the world with this global message of salvation.

Matthew 6:19-34 // Financial security 30.04.2026 25minJesus’ teaching in Matthew 6:19-34 strangely and yet profoundly applies to our sense of financial security.Out of our insecurity we search for treasure on earth in danger of being enslaved to Wealth. Even when we think we’re mastering our money, Wealth has a way of mastering us.But Jesus has come to liberate us from chasing earthly treasure by giving himself up for us and sharing with us the eternal treasure of his kingdom and righteousness. So now, with the eternal treasure of his “kingdom and righteousness” in hand we are equipped to trust our heavenly Father with everyday concerns. In the everyday, while we are concerned for “more” our heavenly Father says we are “much more” to him. Precious in his sight, he not only cares for our everyday needs but provides for us “all things” in the new creation to come.

Haggai 2:20-23 // The Lord's stable and certain plan 30.04.2026 23minHaggai 2:20-23 tells us about the Lord’s stable and certain plan to overturn all earthly power and establish the everlasting reign of his Son.This unique and wonderful message can be easily underappreciated, forgotten or misunderstood. But it is as we remember and immerse ourselves in this message that we find it immediately relevant and of practical benefit each and every day.Whenever we encounter evil, whether in the form of prejudice, violence or selfish ambition (just to name a few), we can recall in that moment, ‘The Lord has marked a day when this will all end.’ And we can turn the pressing moment into an arrow prayer, ‘Dear Lord, help me be an instrument of your good will in the world. Come Lord Jesus!’The more we embed rhythms into our daily lives, the more we will find rhythms bear fruit in our responses—even our reactions—to the concerns, stresses and demands of everyday life.“For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.” Acts 17:31
