How to Build Productivity Systems That Work for You 24.09.2026 29minA productivity system can look great on paper and still make your life harder. In this episode, I’m talking with Adrienne Dalaly about personalized productivity, ADHD, burnout, rest, delegation, and what happens when the systems that once worked for us stop fitting.Adrienne works at the intersection of process and project management, risk analysis, astrology, and tarot. Her approach gives us a useful way to think about time management: gather information about how you work, test what helps, and keep adjusting as your life changes. We talk about the client who had accumulated 27 different systems as her business grew, why handing something off means actually letting someone else own it, and Adrienne’s experience discovering that the rest she thought would require 24 hours sometimes only required 90 minutes of being responsible for herself. We also get into ADHD time perception, sensory rest for moms, creative thinking during periods of rest, and why founders often end up running businesses designed around everyone else’s working style. In this episode:Why growing businesses need regular systems auditsADHD productivity and our sometimes unreliable perception of timeDelegating without taking the task backThe difference between rest and self-careWhy hobbies do not need to become side hustlesHow rest can create space for ideas and creative problem-solvingBuilding flexible structure into your calendarUsing brain dumps and external support when everything feels tangledTesting productivity tools before reorganizing your entire life around themRecognizing when you’ve outgrown a system that used to workResources mentioned:Episode on Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith’s Seven Types of Rest framework: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/tired-you-might-be-resting-wrong/id1601675882?i=1000736551084Chelsey Newmyer Energy + Hours episode on Human Design and time management: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/your-productivity-style-is-written-in-your-birth-chart/id1601675882?i=1000786186381 If this episode gave you a new way to think about your own productivity systems, send it to someone whose calendar, workload, or business systems could use a rethink.About Adrienne Dalaly:Adrienne Dalaly is the founder of Adrienne Dalaly Consulting and Skulltistics, a methodology blending process and project management, risk analysis, astrology, and tarot. How to Get Organized When You’re Overwhelmed 17.09.2026 26minKnowing how to get organized doesn’t always mean you can actually do it, especially when you’re overwhelmed or your brain doesn’t naturally work with the systems you’ve been given. In this episode of Energy + Hours, I’m joined by organizing coach Tracy Hoth to talk about the practical and mental sides of getting organized. Tracy is a certified life and organizing coach and host of the top 1% globally ranked Organized Coach Podcast. One of my favorite parts of this conversation is Tracy’s definition of being organized: knowing what you have and being able to find it when you need it.We talk about why someone can be incredibly organized at work and struggle at home, how labels like “I’m a messy person” can stick with us, and why ADHD and neurodiverse brains may need different organizing tools and structures.Tracy also shares her SPACE organizing method: Sort, Purge, Assign Homes, Contain, Energize. She uses the same process for physical clutter, time, projects, digital spaces, and even the thoughts taking up space in her brain. We also get into the connection between clutter, mental load, and energy. Unfinished tasks, paperwork, clutter, and all those things you keep meaning to deal with can continue taking up capacity even when you aren’t actively working on them.In this episode, we talk about:What it actually means to be organizedHow the identity of being “messy” can affect your habitsOrganizing systems for ADHD and neurodiverse brainsUsing timers, deadlines, accountability, and schedulingTracy’s 15-minute approach to declutteringWhy habits don’t need to happen every day to countResuming a routine without treating it as starting overTracy’s SPACE method for decluttering and organizingHow physical clutter adds to mental load and drains energyApplying organizing principles to your calendar and weekly planningUsing digital calendars and paper planners togetherThe “wonderful one” strategy for reducing decision fatigueAbout Tracy Hoth:Tracy Hoth is a certified life and organizing coach helping women simplify their homes, lives, and businesses through practical systems and mindset shifts, so they can focus on what matters most. Plan for the Human: A Better Approach to Time Management 10.09.2026 38minPlanning your week with a clear head and living that week are two very different experiences. In this episode of Energy + Hours, I’m joined again by time and energy management consultant Maddie Morris to talk about ADHD time management, weekly planning, energy, priorities, and building systems that make follow-through easier.Maddie has ADHD herself, and one of my favorite ideas from this conversation is separating planning from doing. When you’re looking at the week as a whole, you can make decisions based on your bigger priorities. When you’re actually living through Tuesday afternoon, you need enough flexibility to respond to your energy, workload, family needs, and whatever else showed up.We also talk about ADHD productivity surges and the recovery that can follow. Maddie shares how recognizing this pattern changed the way she plans lower-capacity days rather than expecting herself to maintain the same level of output every day. From there, we get practical about weekly planning, including a planning session, reviewing the previous week, and adding a midweek check-in.We also dig into an idea that comes up often in my work: time management starts long before you put something on a calendar. Your season of life, energy, responsibilities, best focus times, tolerance for meetings, and context switching all affect how a schedule works in real life.A calendar can account for the human who has to live inside it.In this episode:Separating planning from doing with ADHDMaddie’s “two most important things” approachPlanning for recovery after productivity surgesWeekly planning, reviews, and midweek check-insChoosing priorities when everything feels importantReducing mental load and decision fatigueBatching and themed days to reduce context switchingUsing timers, visual cues, and environmental designBuilding ADHD-friendly systems that require less willpowerTreating your schedule like an experiment and adjusting what doesn’t workAbout Maddie:Maddie Morris is a time and energy management consultant and speaker who helps leaders and teams train their calendars to focus on what matters most and create the conditions for their best work. Drawing from a decade as an executive assistant and Chief of Staff, plus her own experience with burnout and ADHD, she teaches practical ways to protect focus, manage energy, and build momentum with less wasted effort. Boundaries aren't the problem. Your system is. 03.09.2026 31minIn this episode of Energy + Hours, I’m joined again by returning guest Courtney Cecil to look at boundaries from a systems perspective. One of my favorite ideas from this conversation is Courtney’s concept of the “vulnerability window”: the specific moment or set of conditions where a boundary tends to fall apart.Maybe it’s opening your email as soon as you wake up and letting work determine the tone of your morning. Maybe an open stretch in your calendar disappears into your phone. Maybe work keeps bleeding into home because you haven’t decided what needs protecting in the first place.Courtney walks us through how to find those vulnerable points and create practical controls that make boundaries easier to maintain. We also talk about work-life integration, calendar audits, priorities, energy, and why boundaries can protect you from your own habits as much as they protect you from other people. In this episode:Why knowing your boundaries isn’t always enough to maintain themHow to identify your “vulnerability window” where boundaries tend to break downUsing your environment and simple systems to make boundaries easier to keepCourtney’s three W’s: what you value, prioritize, and spendHow boundaries show up across work, relationships, finances, emotions, and physical wellbeingUsing tools like the Five Whys and risk management controls to reduce frictionWork-life integration, calendar awareness, and using small pockets of time more intentionallyAbout Courtney Cecil:Courtney Cecil is a fierce advocate for making work and life sustainable. She spent over two decades as a culture and organizational strategy executive in professional services and Fortune 50 companies before launching Working Moms Movement in 2023.Through her Life Management System, Courtney helps working moms move from stretched thin and stuck in their to-do lists to feeling more in control and present for their careers, families, and wellbeing. Your Productivity Style Is Written in Your Birth Chart 27.08.2026 31minThere’s a particular kind of frustration that comes from going to bed on Sunday determined that this week will be different. She helps women build productivity systems around their actual lives, using behavior science alongside astrology and Human Design to personalize the way they work.Today, Chelsey uses my chart as an example of how astrology can offer clues about the routines, work environments and types of rest that may suit someone. We also talk about Human Design and the relief that can come from having language for work patterns you previously judged yourself for.In this episode:How to find flexibility when very little can come off your plateHow Chelsey uses astrology to personalize productivityWhat your Sun, Moon and Rising signs can tell you about work and restWhy productivity tools need to change across different seasons of lifeHow to build routines that can survive interruptionsThe productivity practice Chelsey recommends almost universally Chelsey's work is a fun extension of something I believe deeply about time management: learning more about yourself gives you more information to work with.About ChelseyChelsey Newmyer is a productivity strategist and founder of The Cosmic Productivity Method. When Your Routines Stop Working: Time Management for Changing Seasons 13.08.2026 30minIn this episode of Energy + Hours, I’m catching up with returning guest Rachel Newman about how much life can change as our kids get older, our work evolves, neurodivergence becomes part of the conversation, and we learn more about ourselves along the way.Rachel and I originally connected when both of our work was deeply rooted in early motherhood. Years later, our kids are older and our lives look different. Rachel is homeschooling three children and navigating ADHD and dyslexia in her family. My own work has evolved from Grow Like a Mother into a much broader conversation about time management, energy management, sustainable productivity, and building systems around the life you actually have.A big part of our conversation comes back to something I teach often: you are allowed to change the system. We talk about paying attention when something stops serving you, making smaller adjustments when the bigger circumstances can’t change, and using routines and transition tools to make daily life easier for ADHD and neurodivergent brains. In this episode:How motherhood and our needs change as our kids get olderDiscovering neurodivergence through your childrenLetting yourself change a decision or system that no longer worksHow seasons and life changes affect time managementCreating flexible routines when work, school, and home overlapUsing visual timers to support ADHD time blindness and transitionsEmotional regulation and accessing your tools when you’re dysregulatedPersonalizing routines, schedules, and productivity systems around your actual lifeThis episode is especially for you if:You’re in a season where your old routines have stopped working, your family’s needs are changing, you’re navigating ADHD or other neurodivergence, or you’re realizing that the productivity systems you used to rely on don’t fit your current life. It’s also a useful listen for moms who are homeschooling or considering homeschooling and feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices available. You don’t need to adopt somebody else’s entire system.Take what works. Leave what doesn’t. Reevaluate when your circumstances change. Build around the people who actually live in your house and the responsibilities that actually fill your calendar.About Rachel:Rachel Newman is a bestselling author, life coach, and homeschooling mom of three (twins included). What Happens When I Don't Manage My Own Energy 16.07.2026 15minI preach rest. I preach self-care. I preach boundaries. And then I turned 40. I packed the entire summer full of birthday celebrations, a work trip to Calgary, camping, beach days, splash pads, star gazing, and every possible summer memory I could manufacture for my four kids... and ran myself ragged. My 7-year-old drew me a picture of a tired whale. Rituals, Anchors, and the Freedom of Flowing With Your Day 21.05.2026 16min👉 Grab your copy of the Time Magic Seasonal Planner! What if the secret to a more productive, energized day had nothing to do with what time you woke up? In this episode, Jill gets real about a shift she's been experiencing in her own life: trading strict time-based scheduling for rhythms, rituals, and anchors that signal transitions throughout the day. Recording through a cold (yes, she still showed up), Jill shares how a simple morning walk has become a game-changing anchor in her day, and why this approach works especially well for entrepreneurs, moms, and neurodivergent brains who don't operate on a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. She also gets candid about the reality of entrepreneurship, including why she's chosen a patchwork income model to protect her joy and avoid burnout, and why she's giving herself full permission to wait until June to tackle her big business projects. This one is a gentle, meandering conversation that might just inspire you to look at your own day differently.Key Takeaways⏳Rhythms beat rigid schedules. If you don't have a traditional structured day, stop trying to force one. Instead of assigning tasks to specific times, think about the flow of events. What comes after what? That sequence becomes your structure.⏳ Anchors signal transitions. A ritual doesn't have to be elaborate. A walk, a song, a candle, a cup of coffee before you open your inbox. These small, consistent acts tell your brain: this chapter is ending, a new one is beginning. That signal matters more than the clock.⏳ Create before you consume. Before diving into emails, client work, or anyone else's agenda, carve out time that belongs to you. Protecting that space at the start of your day changes the quality of everything that follows.⏳ Imperfect rituals still count. You don't have to do it every single day for it to make a difference. Twice a week beats never. Take the pressure off consistency being all-or-nothing.⏳ Entrepreneurship can look like a mosaic. There's no rule that says your business has to be your only income source. Mixing consulting, freelance work, or part-time income alongside your business can actually protect your love for what you do.⏳ White space is where the magic lives. Look at your day and find the pockets where you have some control. Morning, evening, the commute, the transition between work and family time. That's where a small ritual can create a big shift.Resources⏳ Take the Time Magic Quiz: Find out your time management style and get personalized strategies that actually work for your brain. https://jillwright.ca/quiz⏳ Download the Free ADHD Time Tips: Practical, neurodivergent-friendly tools to help you manage your time without fighting your brain. https://jillwright.ca/adhd-tips⏳ Momentum Meetings: Like a staff meeting for entrepreneurs! ADHD, Motherhood & Life Management 14.05.2026 35minWhat if the reason traditional productivity systems haven’t worked for you… is because they were never built for your brain in the first place? In this episode of the Energy + Hours, Jill Wright sits down with Amy Marie Hann, creator of Master the Mundane, to talk about the realities of managing life, home, routines, motherhood, and mental load as women with ADHD.Amy shares her experience of realizing her ADHD didn’t magically disappear outside of school and work, and how years of masking, burnout, and trying to force neurotypical systems eventually pushed her to create more supportive ways of living.Together, Jill and Amy unpack why so many moms with ADHD struggle with consistency, household management, overwhelm, shame, and unrealistic expectations, especially in seasons of motherhood where the demands never stop. This conversation is practical, validating, and deeply relatable for anyone trying to manage time, energy, routines, and family life with a neurodivergent brain. In this episode, Jill and Amy talk about:Why becoming a stay-at-home mom can actually intensify ADHD strugglesThe hidden mental load carried by moms with ADHDWhy urgency becomes a coping mechanism for ADHD brainsThe difference between neurotypical productivity advice and ADHD-friendly systemsMasking, burnout, and the pressure to “keep up”How shame keeps many women stuck in cycles of overwhelmBuilding routines that work with your brain instead of against itWhy small, sustainable changes work better than trying to overhaul your life overnightADHD, perimenopause, motherhood, and overstimulationThe importance of community and support for neurodivergent momsCreating systems for home and family management that are realistic and flexibleAmy also shares insights from her Master the Mundane community, her course on mastering mornings and evenings, and her approach to helping ADHD moms create more ease in everyday life without perfectionism or guilt. Stop Doing It All and Ask for Help 16.04.2026 13minYou're carrying the weight alone because somewhere you learned that asking is selfish or weak. It's not. It's the most efficient way to reclaim your time and energy.I learned this lesson fresh watching my six-year-old daughter knock on neighbours' doors selling Girl Guide cookies. There was no apology in her ask, no concern about burdening people, no second-guessing. She showed up, stated what she needed, and moved on. Adults have forgotten how to do this, especially women. We're tangled up in people-pleasing, perfectionism, and the constant hum of cultural messaging that tells us we need to handle everything ourselves. The thing is, asking for what you want and need is one of the fastest ways to shift your energy. Not just in a day, but across your entire life. Time back, less resentment, better boundaries, actual rest.In this episode, we get into:Why people-pleasing and perfectionism keep you from asking (and how your neurodiversity might actually be your superpower here) The exact 3-step framework to make the ask: identify what you want, figure out what you need to get there, and ask for the helpHow to handle rejection without it derailing the whole thing (spoiler: even a "no" is better than not asking)The art of showing up and seeing what happens when you let people respond authenticallyWhy your discomfort with asking is just being out of practice, and how to build the habit starting smallReal-life examples of what asking sounds like so it doesn't feel awkward or sleazy⏳✨I’m Jill, a Time Management Expert and creator of the Time Magic™ Method.I help high performers create sustainable productivity through time + energy management that works for real life.My work blends practical systems, energy awareness, and neuro-affirming tools to help people manage their priorities, capacity, and workload without burning out.Built from my experience as an entrepreneur, former hospitality professional, and mom of four, Time Magic is designed for real humans navigating real responsibilities.Explore more:⏳ Take the Time Magic Quiz: https://jillwright.ca/quiz Get the Time Magic™ Planner: A 90-day seasonal planner designed for ADHD and intuitive brains https://www.jillwright.ca/planner 💻 Download the Free Sustainable Productivity Toolkit: https://www.jillwright.ca/freebie👉 For personalized support, book a Time Tune Up sessionConnect with me:Website: https://www.jillwright.caInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/energyandhours 💛 Want to support my work? Success Doesn't Fix Burnout 09.04.2026 28minYou can build a successful business and still feel stretched, frustrated, and stuck in it.This conversation looks at what’s actually happening behind that disconnect. When things are working on paper but not in your day-to-day, it’s usually not a time problem. It’s a leadership gap that no one taught you how to close.Lauren and I talk about the shift from doing everything yourself to actually leading your business. The part where delegation feels messy, systems don’t hold, and you’re still carrying more than you should even with support in place. In this episode, we get into: • why success can still feel heavy and unsustainable • what’s really happening when delegation isn’t working • the difference between productivity and leadership in business • how to step into the CEO role without overcomplicating it • the hidden expectations you’re not communicating to your team • where operations and time management actually overlapAbout Lauren GlynnLauren Glynn is a leadership and operations coach who works with business owners stepping into the CEO role. How Numerology Helps You Align With Your Timing 19.03.2026 37minWhy your old productivity strategies stop working in your 30s and 40s and what to use insteadThis episode is a conversation about why the systems that used to work suddenly stop fitting your life and what it actually takes to realign your time with who you are now.I’m joined by numerologist and podcaster Nat Olson, and we get into the deeper patterns behind burnout, identity shifts, and that quiet feeling that something needs to change even when everything looks “fine” on paper. We talk about the role of conditioning, how social noise pulls you away from your natural rhythm, and why understanding your own wiring can change how you make decisions, plan your time, and show up in your work.In this episode, we get into:• Why productivity tools can stop working during seasons like motherhood, career shifts, and perimenopause• How numerology can highlight your natural strengths, needs, and patterns• The impact of conditioning and social media on your decision-making• What it actually looks like to advocate for your inner nature in real life and business• Why clarity alone isn’t enough without action and self-trustAbout Nat OlsonNat Olson is a Spiritual Coach and Numerologist who helps soulful entrepreneurs and leaders unlock what makes them magnetic… so they can expand their income, impact, and joy. Is Self-Care Stressing You Out? 12.03.2026 28minMany parents feel like they are constantly reacting to their child’s behaviour while running on empty themselves. In this conversation, I sit down with Danielle C. Baker to talk about what actually helps when parenting feels overwhelming, especially when neurodivergent kids are part of the picture.Danielle has a fascinating background that started in physics, moved into early childhood education, and eventually led her to working directly with families who are struggling, exhausted, and trying to support kids with complex needs.A big theme in this episode is something I talk about often on Energy + Hours: parents cannot pour from an empty cup. When we are dysregulated, exhausted, and stuck in survival mode, it becomes much harder to show up as the parent we want to be.Danielle works directly with parents of neurodivergent children and shares what she sees every day. Families trying their best. Kids who need support. Parents who are carrying far more than anyone realizes. We talk about practical ways to shift the focus from constant correction and crisis management toward noticing micro wins, building connection, and creating moments that actually strengthen the parent child relationship. We also talk about the pressure parents put on themselves to “do self care properly,” and why that often backfires. This is a grounded conversation about real parenting, real stress, and the small shifts that can make family life feel a little more manageable. In this episode we talk about:• Why so many parents of neurodivergent kids feel stuck in survival mode• What Danielle learned after nearly two decades working in childcare• The hidden impact of constant stress on parents and families• How focusing only on problems changes the way we see our kids• The power of noticing micro wins in everyday parenting• Why traditional self care advice often adds more pressure for parents• How small moments of connection can change the tone of a whole day• Using “time confetti” moments to reconnect with your childAbout Danielle C. BakerDanielle C. Baker works with parents, educators, and professionals to support children’s development and family wellbeing.
