  Should Steven Lawson Be Writing Books After His Fall? A Response 26.09.2026 24min

  Steve Lawson is back in the spotlight after writing a book following the revelation of his years-long adulterous affair. That raises some serious questions for Christians: Can a pastor who has fallen into serious sexual sin ever teach publicly again? Does biblical forgiveness mean restoration to ministry? Is a disqualified pastor still allowed to write Christian books? And if he does write one, should he be making money from it? In this video, I want to move past outrage, emotions, and internet reactions and actually look at what Scripture says. There is a major difference between forgiveness, restoration to Christian fellowship, qualification for pastoral ministry, and having a public teaching platform. Those categories often get mixed together. We’ll look at passages like 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, James 3, Galatians 6, 1 Corinthians 5, and 2 Corinthians 2 and ask one simple question: What does the Bible actually require? You may believe Steve Lawson should never pastor again and still believe that the grace of Christ truly restores repentant sinners. The bigger question is this: What exactly does biblical restoration restore a fallen pastor to?
