The Art of Controversy (or The Art of Being Right) is a short treatise by Arthur Schopenhauer from 1831, offering thirty-eight rhetorical tricks for winning debates, even when in the wrong. Schopenhauer defends the value of dialectical argument, which he felt philosophers unfairly overlooked in favor of logic.
