The Terrible Podcast – Steelers Versus Falcons Game Recap, Joey Porter Jr. Situation Moving Forward & More 14.09.2026 1t 35minSeptember 14, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 22 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday to open their 2026 regular season. Alex and I discuss the team's perceived health coming out of their first regular season game in addition to going over the six players that were inactive for that contest, one of which was CB Joey Porter Jr. As we get into recapping the Steelers' win over the Falcons, we start by talking quite a bit about the play of the team's defense. We go over the amazing play of OLB T.J. Watt on Sunday in addition to discussing several snap counts on that side of the football. Several defensive players had strong showings against the Falcons on Sunday, so we make sure to note each one. We also discuss how poorly Falcons QB Cooper Rush played on Sunday and how most of Atlanta's success on offense came via RB Bijan Robinson. After thoroughly breaking down several aspects of Pittsburgh's defensive play from Sunday, Alex and I then do the same for the offense. We note how QB Aaron Rodgers pushed the football down the field with more regularity and how a key third down passing play to TE Darnell Washington effectively secured a win. We talk about the running game and how it came alive late in the game. When we’re finished talking about several things related to the offense, Alex and I move on to break down Pittsburgh's play on special teams against the Falcons. Once we are done breaking down the Steelers Sunday win against the Falcons, Alex and I discuss the team being unable to sign Porter to a contract extension prior to the game getting underway. We discuss what the immediate future might be when it comes to Porter and that includes us discussing the possibility that he could ultimately wind up being traded by this year's deadline. This 93-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Vs. Falcons Preview, Status Of Tagovailoa, Week 1 Picks & More 11.09.2026 1t 38minSeptember 11, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 21 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Thursday injury reports released by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons ahead of the Sunday game between the two teams. We spend a little time focusing on the status of Falcons QB Tua Tagovailoa heading into Friday as a recent oblique injury seems to have him questionable for Sunday's game. We talk about how backup QB Cooper Rush could wind up starting for the Falcons on Sunday against the Steelers. CB Joey Porter Jr. is the only player listed on the Steelers injury report heading into Friday so Alex and I discuss his ongoing situation whether both of us think he will ultimately sign a contract extension prior to Sunday's game. We also discuss the amount of playing time Porter could end up receiving on Sunday if he does indeed play against the Falcons. In the middle of this Friday show, Alex and I are joined by Daniel Flick, who covers the Falcons for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Daniel provides to us his insight on the 2026 Falcons ahead of them facing the Steelers on Sunday. He answers several questions we have about the Falcons offense and defense ahead of the Sunday game. At the end of our interview with Daniel, he provides us with a final score prediction for Sunday's game. If you are not already doing so, please follow Daniel on X at @ByDanielFlick and make sure to read his work on online here as well. Following our Friday interview with Daniel, Alex and I provide our own separate full preview of the Steelers Sunday home game against the Falcons. With the rest of Week 1 of the NFL season now close, Alex and I pick all of the remaining games against the spread. We also provide our final score predictions for the Sunday game between the Steelers and the Falcons. Later in this show, Alex goes over several questions for us to answer concerning the Steelers ahead of their regular season getting underway on Sunday. This 97-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. The Terrible Podcast – Initial Depth Chart Dissection, Porter Jr. Update, 2026 NFL Season Predictions & More 09.09.2026 1t 23minSeptember 9, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 20 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers releasing their first depth chart of the 2026 season on Wednesday. We sift through several elements related to that depth chart and how much of it can be taken seriously. The Steelers have reportedly now made a contract offer to CB Joey Porter Jr. as of Tuesday, so Alex and I go over the piece of news. We discuss what common ground the two sides could end up with should an extension ultimately get finalized before Sunday. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed QB Baker Mayfield to a contract extension on Tuesday so Alex and I make sure to pass along that news on the heels of there being previous speculation that he could ultimately land in Pittsburgh in 2027. Steelers HC Mike McCarthy, in addition to the team's three coordinators, all spoke to the media on Monday, so Alex and I go over the main talking points that came out of those press conferences. We also go over a few things that QB Aaron Rodgers said in a few recent interviews that surfaced on Tuesday. Ahead of the 2026 NFL season getting underway Wednesday night, Alex and I give our record predictions for several teams as part of us announcing the teams we think will ultimately make the playoffs. Alex and I predict our 2026 Super Bowl champions later in this show as well. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the first week of the 2026 NFL regular season now officially underway and how Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy will hold his first press conference on Monday afternoon. The Atlanta Falcons have officially announced that Tua Tagovailoa will be the team's starting quarterback for their Week 1 road game against the Steelers and so Alex and I discuss that news. We also discuss the Falcons revealing on Monday morning that Michael Penix Jr. will be inactive for their Week 1 game and thus will not be the backup against Pittsburgh. Will and should Steelers rookie OT Max Iheanachor open the regular season as the team's starting right tackle? Alex and I discuss that forthcoming decision the team will need to make this week. With the start of the Steelers 2026 regular season now less than a week away, Alex and I review our record predictions for the team as part of us revealing the entire staff's predictions as well. Alex and I go over our reasons for having the Steelers not making the playoffs in 2026 as part of us looking at positives and negatives on both sides of the football before the team's first game. The Terrible Podcast – New Practice Squader, Rodgers' Comments About Wilson, Porter Jr. Contract Options & More 04.09.2026 1t 33minSeptember 4, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 18 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the most recent player the Pittsburgh Steelers signed to their practice squad and how the team now has 75 total players under contract heading into the weekend. Alex and I move on to discuss the overall health of the team heading into the weekend and how we are not expecting any transactions to be made until at least Monday. On the heels of Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers talking on Wednesday about WR Roman Wilson and WR Germie Bernard, Alex and I go over what exactly he said and how he said what he said. We discuss the impact both young wide receivers could have on the offense in 2026 and if TE Pat Freiermuth might wind up having an even bigger role in the passing game than most probably expect him to have. Moving forward in this show, Alex and I discuss the several concerns the Steelers have on offense heading into the 2026 season. While the Steelers have yet to sign CB Joey Porter Jr. to a contract extension as of Friday morning, Alex and I still speculate as to whether a deal will get done in the next nine days and what it might look like if it does get ultimately get done. We look at things the Porter side should probably bargain for and things he might need to give up as part of the process. Ideally, the Steelers and Porter will ultimately come to terms as part of a new contract extension that looks good for both sides, and we go over what we mean by that. We also look at whether the Steelers would have any issues accommodating Porter on a franchise tag next offseason, should that end up being the path both sides take. The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced changes to their selection process on Friday morning, so Alex and I go over what those are and our initial interpretations of them later in this show. This 92-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
