F1 Espresso News: Madrid's Dull Race, the 2027 F1 Calendar Shake-Up & Monaco's Sprint Move 16.09.2026 30minThis week I break down Madrid, one of the worst races I've seen this season, plus the headline changes in the 2027 F1 calendar, including Monaco joining the Sprint format. I get into why Madrid's layout killed the racing more than strategy did, the Hamilton and Verstappen clash on lap one, and why I don't think changing the safety car rules is the answer. Then it's onto 2027: Bahrain opening the season, Abu Dhabi closing it, Sprint weekends loaded into the title run-in, and why Monaco getting a Sprint is a commercial call more than a sporting one. I also cover the calendar gap that avoids clashing with Le Mans and the Indy 500, what that could mean for Lando Norris, plus the latest driver market rumours: Ocon, Freddie Slater's F3-to-F2 move, Isack Hadjar's injury and what it means for Red Bull, and Arvid Lindblad's rise. F1 Espresso News: Ferrari's Number One Dilemma, Mercedes Team Orders & Latest F1 News 28.08.2026 37minShould Ferrari back Hamilton over Leclerc? This week I break down the number one debate, plus Mercedes team orders at Zandvoort, the FIA stepping in over abuse aimed at stewards, and Monaco's third place still unresolved two months on. I get into why Russell was asked to move for Antonelli, the fallout from Colapinto's penalty, and why the 2027 driver market is looking far more settled than anyone expected — even with a few teams still working through it. PARAGRAPH 42: How One FIA Ruling Could Change Formula 1 Forever | Monaco Gasly Penalty Explained 17.06.2026 17minPARAGRAPH 42: How One FIA Ruling Could Change Formula 1 Forever | Monaco Gasly Penalty Explained Six drivers penalised for a speed limit they couldn't physically meet. One penalty overturned. And buried in the stewards' own document is a single paragraph that gives every team in Formula 1 a reason to never serve a disputed penalty again. In Monaco, Formula One Management provided incorrect distance data for the first pit lane timing zone. A barrier change brought in for Cadillac's arrival as the eleventh team meant drivers could take a shorter line through that zone than the measurement accounted for. The stewards were given wrong data, issued penalties in good faith, queried it mid race, and were told everything was fine. It wasn't. Alpine's right of review proved Gasly never exceeded 60km/h. His penalties were overturned. But the stewards confirmed in Document 99 that no regulation exists allowing them to undo a penalty already served during a race. That's paragraph 42. And every team in the paddock has read it. In this episode I break down the measurement failure, why the stewards weren't wrong, what paragraph 42 means for how teams approach disputed penalties going forward, and why this isn't just a Monaco story.
