  • 24 Overwhelmed By Your Child's Needs? 5 Steps To Narrow Down To One Big Goal 16.09.2026 19min
Feeling overwhelmed by everything you have to do as a homeschool mom? Not sure how to work on all your neurodivergent child’s needs? What if you could narrow down to just one big goal?   In this episode, I walk through 5 steps to narrow down your list of goals for your kid(s) to pick one big goal that is important to you and your child.  Define the goal (understand that a goal is a bundle of multiple different smaller skills) What are the prerequisite skills? What does your child need to be able to do or know? Where is my child today? What skills does he/she have? What are some natural ways we can incorporate skill practice in our home and homeschool? Reassess expectations Note: This is not about IEP goals, but could be helpful in advocating for your child in that way.   Related Resources from Homeschooling Systems for ADHD Families Get the 37 free planner sample pages here: https://homeschoolingsystemsforadhd.com/freeplannersamplepages   Get my Fixes for Homeschool Days That Fall Apart guide freebie https://bit.ly/homeschoolparachuteplan   Learn more about my 1:1 coaching here: homeschoolingsystemsforadhd.com/coachingoffer   Continue the conversation in the Facebook group! Why reframing the day benefits your homeschool environment, your mental health, and your relationships… …and why venting about everything that went wrong could be more harmful than helpful.   In this episode, we are talking about how to focus on small wins in your homeschool and establishing better thought patterns. I’ll explain why this is so critical for improving how effective your homeschool is but also how it will improve the dynamics in your home, your thinking, and your friendships.  I also share about my first day of homeschool and how things did not go as planned.   Related Resources from Homeschooling Systems for ADHD Families   Get my Fixes for Homeschool Days That Fall Apart guide freebie https://bit.ly/homeschoolparachuteplan   Learn more about my 1:1 coaching here: homeschoolingsystemsforadhd.com/coachingoffer   Continue the conversation in the Facebook group! • 16 5 Things Homeschooling Gives Children with ADHD That Traditional Schools Often Can't 22.07.2026 20min
Have you ever wondered if your child is struggling because of ADHD—or because they're trying to learn in an environment that wasn't designed with neurodivergent brains in mind?   In this episode, I'm sharing five reasons why homeschooling can be such a powerful option for children with ADHD. This isn't about saying traditional schools are "bad." There are incredible teachers doing amazing work every day. But many ADHD learners need flexibility, individualized support, and opportunities to build executive functioning skills that are difficult to provide in a traditional classroom. We'll talk about how homeschooling allows us to create a learning environment that supports regulation, teach the life skills our kids actually need, nurture their interests, and prepare them for a rapidly changing world. Most importantly, homeschooling gives us the opportunity to help our children grow into confident, capable adults while honoring the unique way God created them.   Related Resources from Homeschooling Systems for ADHD Families   Free Simple Homeschool Systems Workshop: sign up here!   Continue the conversation in the Facebook group! Why do some behavior strategies seem to work for one child but completely fail with another? What does "regulation" actually mean, and why does it matter so much for learning and behavior? How can you tell if a challenging behavior is really a sign that your child is dysregulated?   In this episode, occupational therapist Alison Foura joins me from the Sensory Solutions for Parents podcast to explore the connection between regulation and behavior. We discuss what it is and how it impacts learning, attention, emotions, and behavior.  Whether you're navigating meltdowns, resistance, big emotions, or daily struggles with focus and transitions, this conversation will help you look beneath the behavior and better support your neurodivergent learner.
