  Lindsey Clancy admitted to killing her three children. Her trial ended without a verdict after 11 jurors reportedly believed she should be found not criminally responsible because of mental illness. Now women across the country are rallying around her—seeing a mother failed by the mental-health system rather than simply a defendant accused of an unthinkable crime. But D.L. Latarsha Sanders, a Black Massachusetts mother with documented paranoia and schizophrenia, was convicted of killing her two sons and sentenced to two life terms without parole.
