The Voiceover Learning Lounge is an educational podcast that teaches listeners how to use Apple's VoiceOver screen reader on Mac computers and iPhones. Each episode focuses on a specific topic, offering practical, informal lessons that skip unnecessary overviews. The material is presented by Voiceover Guide, a blind and experienced assistive technology instructor. Episodes can be listened to in any order, though beginners are encouraged to start from the first episode to build foundational knowledge.

This lesson, was inspired by one of my learners, who came to me with a question of knowing, when to interact, and not to interact when using Mac with Voiceover. Aimed at the more intermediate user of Voiceover on Mac OS, it attempts to provide a solution for those wondering when to press the VO shift down arrow/up arrow commands, by providing situations and scenarios, as well as a pretty foolproof formula to follow that I came up with, for myself originally and wanted to pass along to others.
