This episode is not a regularly scheduled one, but me sharing some recent difficult news about my pregnancy and inviting you into a process of meditating on Scripture with me when things seem to not go as planned. Scripture is more than just words. Hebrews 4:12 tells us it's living and active. So when we choose to come to it, through times of joy and sorrow, it will change us. It will strengthen, comfort, encourage and renew us, because the Holy Spirit is always behind it. I would love for you to be a part of this journey and to also reflect on these verses with me throughout the month of May, even with your own hard news, suffering or trial. 100. 7 Things PMDD Has "Stolen" From Me 02.04.2026 37minWhen you think of your struggle with premenstrual dysphoric disorder, do you feel there are certain things PMDD has "stolen" from you? Broken relationships? Distorted thoughts? Feelings of inadequacy? In this episode, I go through 7 of those things I've identified in my own life. It's a reflection that brings with it a lot of grief and lament, and reminds me of the brokenness still in this world, in my body and in my relationships. But as it's Easter this month, we also know that there is a hope beyond the symptoms and broken relationships or dreams. I talk about all of this in this episode. I encourage you to also reflect on what PMDD has "stolen" from you, but know that Christ is still Lord and in control. ~ Lauren Next Steps: 50% off The Luteal Prep Guide for the month of April for PMDD Awareness Month. 99. REPLAY: Cycle Nutrition 101: Foods Your Body Needs in Every Phase with Danika Vanderpyl 19.03.2026 37minThis week we're doing a replay episode from way back in September of 2024! Maybe you've heard about how your body needs different foods in each phase of your cycle, and this episode takes a deep dive into this with my friend Danika Vanderpyl. As women, we're not linear, robotic creatures that require one thing to fuel us all month long. Throughout each of the phases, our bodies need different things- different movement, self/ soul-care, socializing, nutrition. And this is exactly what Danika and I chat about in this episode. The best part of it? In our conversation, she breaks it all down into more simple and bite-size strategies so you're not feeling extra overwhelmed. Because, really friend, you don't need more overwhelm than what you're already experiencing! I'd highly encourage you to grab a notebook and pen and take notes! Danika Vanderpyl is Certified in Holistic Nutrition with a passion for helping women making eating simple, energizing, and healthy. After facing her own digestive challenges, Danika transformed her favorite recipes into nutrient dense, low-sugar alternatives to heal her body. Now a food blogger she share these wholesome recipes at besidethemoutain.com. As a mom of two boys, Danika is passionate about helping women and mothers thrive in holistic living—from eating to heal the body to hiking to recharge and thrive. 98. Nutrition For PMDD: Where To Begin 05.03.2026 51minFor the month of March, nutrition is what we’re talking about! If you’ve ever wondered where to start with food and what you’re putting into your body when it comes to helping manage your PMDD symptoms, I’m sharing it all here on this episode! What I’m talking about are the core foundations for helping regulate blood sugar and reduce inflammation. These are a great (and essential!) place to start. This is really getting to the heart of what we're putting into our bodies every day, every meal. And this matters. Because before the supplements, before the deep hormone protocols, before trying one more “quick fix,” your body needs stability. It needs steady fuel. It needs nourishment that supports your nervous system, your hormones, and your brain. When blood sugar is constantly spiking and crashing, it can magnify anxiety, irritability, rage, and hopelessness. When inflammation is high, symptoms often feel louder and heavier. So in this episode, we’re going back to basics. Simple shifts. Practical changes. The kind that create a foundation you can actually build on. If you’ve been wondering where the heck to begin, listen in. 96. Aren't Women With PMDD Just Under Demonic Influence? 05.02.2026 22minHave you ever questioned whether your PMDD symptoms are spiritual attacks, or something darker, rather than something happening in your body? Have you thought: if I just believed harder, prayed more and was a better Christian, I wouldn't be dealing with all of this? If these thoughts and more have come up, you're not alone. Women with PMDD who are also Christians deal with these doubts and questions every cycle, making it harder and harder to understand whether this is purely physical or spiritual. What if it was both? In today's episode, I tackle this hard topic of whether PMDD is just women coming under demonic influence, or something else. As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic! 94. My Anger as a Christian Mom: The Story I Didn’t Want to Tell 01.01.2026 36min"Working on my anger/ rage/ extreme irritability". Maybe not the most popular new year's resolution, but not any less important. This is such a loaded topic, and as the title of this episode explains, a story I never thought I would share or wanted to share. It's that place of pain in my heart that feels too vulnerable, too exposed, and yet, here it is. In this episode, I'm sharing my own story with anger relating to premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and how it wasn't so apparent until after I had my daughter. Then the sin was more exposed than ever. But with exposure comes freedom. If you're caught right in the middle of dealing with anger, rage or intense irritability, just no you're not alone and there is hope. When we can start being honest with ourselves, that's when the healing can begin. Hope you are blessed by this episode. 93. What Foundation Will Hold During PMDD? 18.12.2025 44minFor years, my theological foundation was pretty sandy, crumbly and wasn't holding when the PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) storm was hitting. The despair, the doubts, the fears and anxieties would pile up and I would just keep spiraling down. Then I started working on the foundation that I was building my values, beliefs and convictions on, the theology that would sustain me even through the monthly hormonal sensitivity storms: aka PMDD. In this episode, we're asking the question: what is your foundation? Are you building your life on strong and sound theological doctrine, or doubts, deconstruction and skepticism of God's character? Answering this question will make a huge difference in how the luteal phase of your cycle goes each month. Let's dive in! 91. Navigating PMDD Through A Biblical Lens 27.11.2025 50minHow do you view your struggle with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)? Do you see it through the lens of Scripture — or as something happening to you without purpose or hope? Are you interpreting your symptoms through God’s truth — or through fear, frustration, and discouragement? Do you believe God can bring clarity, healing, and renewal here — or have you quietly stopped expecting anything to change? Some hard questions to grapple with, but so important for your journey through PMDD. In this episode, we’re looking at PMDD through a truly biblical lens. We talk about what it actually looks like to bring your symptoms, your emotions, and your monthly patterns to the Lord… and how to stop seeing PMDD as something that just “happens to you” and start seeing it through truth, clarity, and Scripture. This is a grounding, honest, Christ-centered reframing of what you walk through every month — and I think it’s going to breathe some hope into places that have felt heavy for a long time. Let’s walk through this together. Lauren . Next Steps: Join the PMDD Mentorship Hub! 90. PMDD Root Causes Series Part 5: HPA-Axis Dysregulation 20.11.2025 30minIf stress makes your PMDD feel ten times louder, this episode will make everything click. We’re talking about the HPA axis — not in a science-heavy way, but in a real-life, “this is why I feel the way I do” way. In this conversation, I’m naming the things so many of us walk through:• feeling overstimulated just trying to get through the day• snapping or shutting down because your body is already at capacity• exhaustion that feels spiritual and physical• the guilt that comes with being overwhelmed when you “should be stronger”• wondering why your symptoms flare when life gets stressful And we’ll walk through:• why stress + HPA-Axis dysregulation doesn’t cause PMDD, but absolutely makes it louder (a bit different than the other root causes of premenstrual dysphoric disorder)• how to acknowledge the stress your body is actually carrying• simple ways to soften your system again• how to invite God into your stress instead of coping alone• gentle rhythms that support you all month long This is your permission to stop pretending you’re fine and start supporting your body with grace, truth, and the help God offers. 89. PMDD Root Causes Part 4: Neuroinflammation 13.11.2025 34minBig name, simple meaning: neuroinflammation means inflammation of the brain. It might sound like another daunting characteristic of PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder)... But truly, when we understand what’s at the root of the problem, that’s where healing begins. If you can relate to any of these symptoms in the week or two before your period— brain fog irritability sensory overwhelm exhaustion or that “buzzing,” inflamed feeling in your brain— …you’re in the right place. In this episode, we’ll break down what neuroinflammation really is, how it connects to PMDD, and what you can do—physically and spiritually—to begin calming your brain and body again. 88. PMDD Root Causes Part 3: Genetic Disposition 06.11.2025 40minHey friends, welcome back to PMDD Redeemed! This week, we're chatting about how PMDD isn't "just hormones", but it results from the very fabric and blueprint of who you are: your DNA and genes. I loved learning more about this root cause of PMDD, because it just seemed to "seal the deal" even more, of knowing it's not just about trying harder, being less this or more that. The layers attached to PMDD are so important to understand, and not only bring awareness, but also validity and substantiation. It's not just "all in your head"; there's research pointing to deep, cellular dysregulation occurring. So have a listen and enjoy! Lauren . 87. PMDD Root Causes Part 2: Serotonin Dysregulation 30.10.2025 28minWe're continuing on with our PMDD Root Causes series, and today we're chatting about serotonin dysregulation. This episode has so much overlap to last week's episode, where we talked about how the GABA-A receptors misfire during the luteal phase. The main issue again here is sensitivity: the receptors not responding well to a normal hormone, or in this case, neurotransmitter. I talk about the physiology behind it, but take a deep dive into: 1) nervous system regulation, specifically helping you assess why you're doing what you're doing, and 2) gut health & nutrition, about how this is the foundation for emotional regulation and feeling in control of your thoughts and emotions every cycle. Hope you enjoy the episode! Lauren ---------------------------------------- Next Steps: Get the GABA Healing Guide: A 7-step framework for helping to heal the GABA-A receptor.
