ExodUS Summit hosts virtual and live events and workshops that show Black women ways to plan their ExodUS, all while fostering community. The ExodUS Summit community is now 18,000+ Black women strong. Our signature event is the annual virtual summit, where Black women speakers teach ExodUS Summit attendees specific strategies to make their own sabbatical or move-abroad plans. Roshida Dowe was a burned-out lawyer for high-pressure tech companies who retired at age 39. She’s now in love with her expat life in Mexico City, her favorite city in the world. Stephanie Perry quit her job as a hospital pharmacy technician to travel the world for one year, and she never turned back. She’s been a house-sitting nomad since 2015. "No one will love you until you love yourself" and other harmful things we say... 12.06.2024 36mntHi there Beautiful, "No one will love you until you love yourself" and other harmful things we say like "People treat you how you allow them to treat you", or "you can't love anyone unless you love yourself" can actually cause more harm than good. We end up victim blaming the victim in these scenarios, when they were not the ones at fault. Their only crime was expecting the world to not be a hard and cruel place. Some people are too kind for this world... and that is not their fault. People will treat us how they want to treat us. Let us learn patience, kindness and empathy.
