S3WE32 Paris FC 2 - 2 Arsenal: CL Match Day 2 03.10.2026 54mntNot a Penalty, it just isn’t In this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about Arsenal’s CL Match Day 2 against Paris FC. Time is spent discussing opinions about the controversial penalty decision that gifted Paris FC with a goal and ultimately with the draw and 1 point in the Champions League group phase. Arsenal showed improvement in this match. I talk about Sleegers sending out the assistant to do the post match presser and why she did that. I also catch you up on the rest of the results from Match Day 2 in the Women’s Champions League. There is also the matter of previewing Sunday’s match against defending WSL champion Manchester City. As always we’d love to hear your comments to the episode, fan origin stories, and questions you may have for us. S3WE31 Chelsea 1 - 0 Arsenal: WSL Match Day 4 30.09.2026 41mnt5 points, 4 games, another slow start to a seasonIn this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about Arsenal’s WSL Match Day 4 against Chelsea and all the blocked shots, this time the number was 12. The match was really entertaining for the neutrals, but I’m not a neutral, so I was ultimately disappointed with the result. I also catch you up on the rest of the results from Match Day 4 in the WSL. I also have a quick preview of the next match, Champions League match day 2 against a dangerous (and maybe familiar) Paris FC club.As always we’d love to hear your comments to the episode, fan origin stories, and questions you may have for us. 114 Guilty. Now What? 28.09.2026 1j 10mntThank you for tuning in!After three and a half years of waiting, the verdict is reportedly in: Manchester City found guilty on 114 of 115 Premier League charges. Misreported finances, hidden payments to players and managers, broken spending rules at home and in Europe, and 35 counts of refusing to cooperate with the investigation. Nine seasons. Three league titles. One very expensive legal team.So what happens next? Everything is on the table, and we mean everything. The other 19 owners have watched City lift trophies for a decade, and they aren’t going to let the league go soft. Clubs could sue for damages. Players who lost titles, bonuses and Champions League money could too. Could it become one giant class action with every club and every player lining up? Don’t rule it out. Then there’s the punishment. How big a points deduction? 60? 600? A forced sale? A ban on selling, leaving the owners stuck with a club that can’t earn? The NBA forced Donald Sterling to sell the Clippers, and the Kroenkes were on the owners’ side of that table. Juventus got relegated (one division, we got this one wrong) and stripped of titles. Rangers started over, four divisions down. (That’s who we were thinking of.) Lance Armstrong lost seven Tour de France titles and nobody got promoted into them. Does City’s trophy cabinet get emptied the same way? And what does it all mean for Pep Guardiola’s legacy? Here’s a question nobody is asking: if the Premier League relegates City, does the Championship have to take them? Or could the EFL simply say no thanks? It’s all unprecedented. The timelines say we should know soon, but the timelines have been wrong every step of the way. And honestly? We’ll take effective over efficient. If getting it right takes longer, and it means the verdict can’t be flipped on appeal, we’ll wait. What we don’t want is a fast resolution that ends in a slap on the wrist.Pull up a chair. Stateside Gooners break down the biggest scandal in Premier League history. -
S3WE30 Arsenal 1 - 0 HB Koge; CL Week 1 27.09.2026 49mntThree points is three points, take ‘emIn this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about Arsenal’s opening match in the CL against HB Koge. The season has opened with frustrating results would this pattern continue in this match? Arsenal made 8 changes to the lineup; would they help? Finally, Matt talks about his thoughts on how to attack a low block. As always we’d love to hear your comments to the episode, fan origin stories, and questions you may have for us. S3WE29 Arsenal 1 - 1 Man United; WSL Week 3 23.09.2026 41mntIs the WSL gone already? In this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about the week 3 draw against rival Man United. The season has opened with dissappointing results which is such a pattern for the Arsenal women. Arsenal did not bring the intensity to this match and a lot of sterile possession in this match. Does Sleegers have enough time to turn this season around? As always we’d love to hear your comments to the episode, fan origin stories, and questions you may have for us. S3E157 Brighton 3 - 0 Arsenal; EPL Match Week 5 21.09.2026 1j 6mntI’ve been wanting to remind everyone to check out The Gooner Hub (Apple Store) and download the app. Gary is a friend of the show, let’s make sure we’re giving him our full support. Playing the daily quiz has been great. You can make it easy, medium, or hard. Easy is usually no more than one miss, at most. Medium shows me that I’m an Arsenal history B student 6 to 8 of 10 most days. But hard is really hard, I think. I’m usually below 60% and often less than 50%. That’s why you need to try it out. You will learn a lot about our club, Arsenal FC, and have fun doing it. Help out our friend, Gary. Your support helps him continue to share this fun app. (Coming to Android soon.)On this episode, Eric, Kevin, and Matt talk about Arsenal’s 4th away trip in 4 matches, this one to the coast, visiting Brighton for match week 5. Find out what the guys think about Brighton’s press and the way Arsenal did not deal with it. Eric asks would Mo Salah or Erling Haaland score the chance Saka had in the 44th minute? Kevin does a run down of the other EPL matches. Finally, what will we do with the next three weeks during the FIFA international break. As always we’d love to hear your comments to the episode, fan origin stories, and questions you may have for us. S3WE28 Arsenal 0 - 0 Crystal Palace; WSL Week 2 19.09.2026 39mntShould we be concerned about the finishing after these two matches? In this episode of the Arsenal Women’s podcast presented by Stateside Gooners, Matt talks about the week 2 draw against a very blocky Crystal Palace team. He jumps into the stats for this one right away because they really tell the story of this match. Arsenal had all the momentum but just could not score with 4 big chances missed and 2 crossbars hit.I did not discuss this during the show, but below is a link to an interview with Arsenal midfielder Kyra Cooney-Cross about her relationship with her mom. It is a very touching interview that shows the support and love her mom had for her three daughters. Carabao Cup Round 3.On this episode, Eric, Kevin, and Matt discuss What Ha-Happened Was on the away trip to Sunderland. Would Xhaka get a yellow card? Can Saka ditch his finishing woes and get one over the line? Would Sunderland be a difficult atmosphere? This was a fun match to recap and the guys break down and answer all of these questions and much, much, … much more.Find out if we have a new points leader in The Reckoning. On The B-Side, we measure our words, or do we(?), regarding comments made by a former PGMOL referee Mike Dean, and the impacts of the revelations he shared on (of all places) Jamie Vardy’s podcast. S3E155 Napoli 0 - 1 Arsenal; UEFA CL Group Stage Game 1 10.09.2026 1j 7mntOn this episode, Eric and Matt talk about the first away trip for Arsenal in the Champions League against Napoli. Arsenal were dominant, so many shots, so much xG. You’d think Arsenal scored a lot, but you would be wrong. Big chances missed. But the goal Arsenal scored was, well, it was the kind of goal Matt likes power and pinged off the post. There is a preview for the away match at Sunderland on Saturday, we get to see our old friend Xhaka. Make sure to stick around for the three quick things at the end. There’s a bit about Italy that is quite interesting. As always we’d love to hear your comments to the episode, fan origin stories, and questions you may have for us.
