  • The true power of saying YES - how 100 conversations have changed my life forever 04.10.2026 1j 12mnt
For this special milestone episode 100 of Project Possible, I look back on a year of throwing myself at the podcast, and the impact these conversations have had on my life, my outlook and my hope to be of service to others.I talk about why building and selling a business didn’t leave me feeling fulfilled, learning to enjoy life again after losing my brother Jordan to suicide, fatherhood, health, money, and what success means to me as I turn 39.I get into finding my own lane in a sea of podcasts - and recognising that asking life's bigger questions and having ambition doesn't stop just because you have responsibilities. I also share some of the friendships and opportunities that have come from just saying yes, and my pride in joining the advisory panel of Dr Susie Bennett’s new charity, Action on Male Suicide.Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/richleighpod====="It's like Diary of a CEO, but for people that have to do the school run."After my younger brother Jordan took his own life last year, I sold the business I’d spent a decade building and decided to go all-in on creating something meaningful. This podcast is the result.Project Possible is about success through adversity. Claire Sisk is a content creator, disability and accessibility advocate. You might recognise her as ITV’s This Morning's first blind chef. She's built a large and loyal following online as Can See Can’t See, showing people how she accomplishes daily tasks others might take for granted, having lost her sight at the age of 37.I sat down with Claire to talk about having two strokes at 29, being told she would be blind by 40, and learning to cook her daughter’s favourite meals blindfolded while she could still see.We talk about motherhood, feeling like a burden, accepting help and her bid to find a new career after more than 250 unsuccessful job applications. She talks about how she believes ticking the disability box meant an instant no - and gives a shocking example. We also get into her love of boy bands, making concerts more accessible, and the three choices she gives herself on difficult days: give in, give up or give it your all.Follow Claire on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/canseecantsee_Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/richleighpod====="It's like Diary of a CEO, but for people that have to do the school run."After my younger brother Jordan took his own life last year, I sold the business I’d spent a decade building and decided to go all-in on creating something meaningful. This podcast is the result.Project Possible is about success through adversity. • Fertility Expert: “I Was Given a 0.7% Chance of Having a Baby - Then I Got Pregnant Naturally at 44!” 06.09.2026 1j 45mnt
Liberty Mills has lived about five different lives. She was an international model, a young single mum, a woman so badly affected by lupus that she needed a Zimmer frame, a health coach and author who rebuilt her life, and then, at 44, a woman who became pregnant naturally after being given around a 0.7% chance of conceiving with her own eggs. She talks about the darker side of the modelling industry, including being weighed and measured before being paid, having money docked if her measurements changed, and being made to walk around in her underwear as punishment. She talks about becoming seriously ill, losing her hair, her independence and much of the identity she had built around being healthy and successful, and the moment her daughter asked: “When you die, how will I pay the mortgage?”We also get into fertility, miscarriage, IVF, stress, relationships, male fertility, and what it does to a couple when having a child starts to feel impossible. And Liberty explains why she refuses to let a diagnosis, statistic or label decide who she is or what happens next. This is a conversation about fertility, but really, it’s about reinvention, agency, and refusing to believe your future has already been written.Follow Liberty on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mills.libertyFollow me on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/richleighpod====="It's like Diary of a CEO, but for people that have to do the school run."After my younger brother Jordan took his own life last year, I sold the business I’d spent a decade building and decided to go all-in on creating something meaningful. This podcast is the result.Project Possible is about success through adversity. • "They called me Dr Barbie. They followed me to work. I proved them all wrong." - Apprentice winner Dr Leah Totton 30.08.2026 1j 38mnt
Dr Leah Totton is a doctor, entrepreneur and winner of The Apprentice, where Lord Sugar invested £250,000 in her medical aesthetics business when she was just 24 years old.She talks about being dismissed as “Dr Barbie” by the press. She talks about journalists following her to and from work, and how reporters would approach patients and colleagues while she was working in A&E in a bid to get dirt on her. And, crazily, she told me how one tabloid even sent a journalist and her 14-year-old daughter undercover into her clinic in an attempt to catch her offering Botox to the teenager. At its worst, Lord Sugar stepped in and threatened to sue one outlet over its treatment of Leah.We also get into growing up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, the Omagh bombing that inspired her to become a doctor and the guilt and personal conflict she felt leaving traditional medicine for aesthetics. She talks about building Dr Leah Clinics from scratch, working seven-day weeks, and more recently selling a majority stake in the business in what she calls a “life-changing” deal, and she told me why she believes luck and timing matter as much as hard work.A rare interview with an incredibly impressive entrepreneur who is, by her own admission, extremely private. This is Dr Leah Totton.Follow Leah on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/drleahtottonFollow me on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/richleighpod====="It's like Diary of a CEO, but for people that have to do the school run."After my younger brother Jordan took his own life last year, I sold the business I’d spent a decade building and decided to go all-in on creating something meaningful. This podcast is the result.Project Possible is about success through adversity. The years of struggle before his secret audition with Rockstar, losing his mum at 15, creating Arthur over five years, performance capture, and why the character still means so much to people nearly eight years later. This one is personal, too. • He Lost The Love Of His Life, Then Made It Funny: interview with comedian Sam Morrison 09.08.2026 1j 12mnt
Is it possible to turn hope into loss - and even comedy? This week, I'm joined by US comedian Sam Morrison for a conversation about love, grief, comedy, and the show that changed his life.Sam is the creator of Sugar Daddy, a critically acclaimed solo show about losing his partner Jonathan to Covid, being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and somehow turning the most painful period of his life into something funny, moving and deeply human. We also talk about his show DUCK, which he's currently performing at the Edinburgh Fringe throughout August. In this episode, Sam talks about meeting Jonathan, the silliness and love that defined their relationship, and what it means to keep someone alive by continuing to talk about them. He also opens up about anger, grief, body image, gay culture, and why making jokes about loss is one of the hardest things he has ever had to do.Funny, filthy, tender and unexpectedly profound, I loved this conversation.Info and tickets for DUCK: https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/sam-morrison-duckFollow Sam on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/samuelhmorrisonFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/richleighpod ====="It's like Diary of a CEO for people that have to do the school run."Interviews that might just change your life. Today’s guest is entrepreneur and former rugby league player James Laithwaite.Describing himself as one of rugby league’s ‘unluckiest’ players, James Laithwaite broke the same leg four times, broke his neck - it was the first time his now-wife watched him play - and lost the only career he had ever imagined. At 27, he went from playing professional rugby league in front of tens of thousands to labouring on building sites, with a baby on the way and no fallback plan. Then he and his wife Michelle started meal prep business FuelHub.Their son was born on the day the company launched - James talks about leaving the hospital that morning to deliver its first meals. They later sold everything, emptied their savings and risked it all to keep it alive.Seven years on, FuelHub is one of the fastest growing companies in the UK. It produces around 25,000 meals a week, and works with Team GB, England Rugby, major football clubs, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom. This is a brilliant conversation about entrepreneurship, injury, identity, family, obsession and starting again. As ever, if you enjoyed this episode, please do subscribe using the button below, or click subscribe wherever you watch or listen to this podcast.Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming giveaway with FuelHub - the best way to find out about it is to follow us on Instagram:Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/richleighpodFollow James on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jameslaithwaite =====Interviews that might just change your life. Dan Goodwin, better known as Spider-Dan, is a legendary climber, daredevil and high-rise safety campaigner. In 1981, aged 25, he climbed the Sears Tower, then the tallest building in the world, wearing a homemade Spider-Man suit and using equipment he had designed himself. He later climbed the World Trade Center, among a dozen skyscrapers, free-soloed both sides of the CN Tower and developed an unlikely friendship with Spider-Man's creator and Marvel founder Stan Lee.We talk about controlling fear when one mistake means death, the moments he came closest to falling, why firefighters once tried to knock him from a building, and the real reason behind his spectacular climbs. They also discuss his complicated feelings about Alex Honnold and the way modern climbing history is presented, surviving stage-four cancer, the power and limitations of positive thinking, turning 70, and why Dan hopes he still has another 70 years ahead of him. This is a conversation about risk, recognition, survival and refusing to live an ordinary life. Dr. Niamh Shaw is an engineer, scientist and storyteller who has spent more than a decade chasing an extraordinary dream: to become a citizen astronaut.Along the way, she's spoken at NASA's Johnson Space Center, covered launches from Kennedy Space Center, trained for space, lived on a simulated Mars mission and experienced zero gravity aboard the infamous "Vomit Comet".We talk about whether humans should ever colonise Mars, why she believes Elon Musk's vision for humanity's future is fundamentally flawed, whether space tourism is closer than we think, the search for aliens, and why astronauts believe we need poets, priests and philosophers in space just as much as engineers. It's a conversation that starts with rockets, but ends up being about something much bigger: perspective, possibility and what it means to be human. You can buy Dr Niamh's book here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dream-Big-Irishwomans-Space-Odyssey/dp/1781177155Follow Dr Niamh on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr_niamh_shawFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/richleighpod=====Interviews that might just change your life. • The Queen of Kids' TV: What Jim Henson Taught Me About Changing The World 05.07.2026 1j 48mnt
My guest this week is BAFTA Lifetime Achievement Award-winning writer and producer Jocelyn Stevenson, whose extraordinary career includes Sesame Street, The Magic School Bus, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam and creating Fraggle Rock alongside Jim Henson. We talk about the lessons Jim Henson taught her, why he believed children's television could help stop war, the responsibility of creating stories for young minds, and what she thinks about growing up in a world of smartphones, social media and endless screen time.We also discuss curiosity, science, why children are far more capable than we often give them credit for, and why Jocelyn chose to reinvent herself as a children's author after decades in television, with her fantastic series The Waterubas. This is a conversation about the power of stories, the importance of kindness, and the people shaping the next generation.== Note - apologies for the technical issues with the camera in this episode if you're watching it. • Ready For the Next Episode - Solo episode 03 02.07.2026 37mnt
Fair warning: this is a solo episode. If the thought of me talking for getting on for 40 minutes with only a loose structure makes you want to jump headfirst into fire, flick back through the other 80+ episodes for one you haven't watched or listened to, or come back on Monday, when I'll have another incredible guest.Since September last year, when I brought this podcast back, I've been healing out loud, somewhat. This podcast has become a real-time document of the aftermath of tragic grief, and this idiot's effort to make sense of - well, everything - while wanting desperately to spread positivity and the idea of possibility. This episode is a quieter mediation on just that. No milestone to speak of, no guest, just an honest update on where I am, what Project Possible is becoming, and what it feels like to start again without starting from scratch. In this episode, I talk about rebuilding, how hope can feel uncomfortable, the idea of “New Game+”, and why I’m starting to look up again after - amidst? - the hardest period of my life.I also talk about what the podcast has given me, the opportunities beginning to appear, and why Project Possible feels like the thing everything else might grow from.I think I'm ready for the next episode.Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/richleighpod =====Interviews that might just change your life.
