  In this episode, we’re excited to welcome Brad Holman. Brad is the Director of the Children’s Resource Center in Southeastern Wisconsin and is also a parent of children with special health care needs. With years of experience across health care, public health, and education, Brad brings both professional expertise and personal experience to his work supporting children and youth with special health care needs and their families. His perspective as both a parent and a professional has shaped the work he does every day through the Children’s Resource Center, helping families navigate resources, find support, and advocate for the needs of their children.   We hope you enjoy the conversation!    --- Brad is the director of the Children’s Resource Center – SE as well as a parent of children with special health care needs and has worked in the profession for years. Brad has over 40 years of experience working with special populations, including teaching, case management, service coordination and grant management and program administration. His personal experiences as a CYSHCN parent and professional with background in health care, public health and education, have provided him with knowledge and skills that guide his work at the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Children’s Resource Center today. Brad also enjoys spending time with his wife, dog and cat, as well as watching sports and home remodeling projects. He also enjoys time he spends running a non-profit organization that he and his wife started in memory of their children to assist families of children with life-limiting diseases and chronic disorders.

In her practice she sees children of all ages as well as adults for the treatment of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, autism and other diagnoses.Dr. Schaettle worked previously as a nurse, then as nurse manager on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit. She also worked with leading research in psychiatry. This background, plus the encouragement from her friend, Dr. Harry Kniaz, led her to follow her passion to medical school and become a psychiatrist.

Elder Advisors Law is a multi-state law firm with its primary headquarters in Janesville, Wisconsin. Doug is a Vietnam-era Veteran who served honorably from 1972 to 76. He takes special pleasure in helping veterans of foreign wars and disabled vets fight for their benefits. Doug’s estate planning practice is client-centered and uses personalized wills, trusts, power of attorneys, and other techniques to address elder law and special needs planning issues of asset protection, Medicaid, Medicare, and Veterans Benefits. With Doug’s holistic approach, it’s all about options and creating a personalized rule book. With a passion for education, Doug enjoys presenting workshops for local communities and specialized workshops for the financial services industry. Local missions hold a special place in Doug’s heart. Doug takes an annual mission trip to the Appalachian mountain area to serve the underprivileged. Doug has mentored many men to help them become productive members of society and has established Celebrate Recovery Inside, a faith-based recovery program, in the Jefferson County Jail. Doug and his law firm support his local community’s homeless shelter regularly.

  We are overjoyed to have Erika Holmes on the podcast as she shares how the ADRC supports our community by connecting older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families with the resources and services they need. It's an inspiring conversation about making help accessible and empowering people to find the support that's right for them.   Erika been with the ADRC of Jefferson County, WI since June of 2018 and recently became supervisor in October 2025. I’ve been with the ADRC since June of 2018 and recently became supervisor in October 2025. My previous experience includes working with an IRIS Consultant Agency and day programs in the Milwaukee area before that. I have 2 children. We have a pet hamster, fish, and three chickens. In my free time, I love reading, playing board games, and camping.

  In our first podcast episode, Sr. Charlotte Roost and Sr. Grace Schauf share their journeys to professing final vows in religious life and reflect on their dedication to serving people with disabilities. As a pharmacist (Roost) and former educator (Schauf), these two Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi reflect on their order's role in founding St. Coletta of Wisconsin and the mission that continues to guide its work, helping individuals with disabilities achieve their highest quality of life. Along the way, they also share a few personal favorites, including their most watched sister-focused movie and TV show. You won't want to miss this inspiring and heartfelt conversation! Guest Bios: Sr. Grace Schauf (right) - Sr. Grace is the last of many dedicated Sisters to be employed at St. Coletta of Wisconsin. Since 1955, she has been a leader, an educator and a pioneer in the field of special education. Sister Grace has dedicated her time and talents to the individuals who live, work and attend programs at St. Coletta. Her dedication started in Jefferson from 1955 to 1964 where she was in the Villa Rieti Group Home and the bakery. “From there, her calling sent her to St. Coletta’s of Illinois and then on to the Kennedy School.”  In 1980, she returned to St. Coletta were she was employed at Coletta James Group Home in Madison. Currently Sister Grace is employed at the main campus in Jefferson where she continues to be on St. Coletta’s switchboard and an administrative assistant for Human Resources. Her tireless devotion to people and her belief in individual achievement inspire all of us to assist the individuals at St. Coletta explore new options and plan their future.   Sr. Charlotte Roost (left) - Sister Charlotte Roost has been a member of the Sisters of St Francis of Assisi in Saint Francis, Wisconsin for more than 60 years. She entered after high school. Most of her ministry has been as a pharmacist specializing in geriatric pharmacy. She is currently ministering as an Associate Director on the leadership team for the congregation. She grew up in Cambridge, Wisconsin, ten miles west of St. Coletta of Wisconsin. She spent two summers living at St. John’s parish convent in Jefferson and/or at St. Coletta of Wisconsin while doing part of her pharmacy internship at the drug store in Cambridge. She enjoys listening to audio books and sewing.
