Hank Watson's Garage Hour is a talk radio show focused on cars, trucks, beers, and guns. Since 2009, it has delivered gearhead content including canyon carving, off-roading, firearms, and blue-collar humor. The show features explosions, epic fails, and a style reminiscent of Top Gear.

  • 07.11.26 (MP3): Best Junkyard Show @ Best Parts - Demolition Derby Cars, Auto Glass, Car(cas) Demand, European Parts Buying, The LA/San Diego Run in Under 11 Parsecs, Beer Tasting, Dude Fooding, Oil Heating & Mexican Food 22.07.2026 1ч 1мин
Gearheads doing gearhead stuff...  What better a Saturday than sips and shocks; beers and brakes; glasses of ale and boxes full of used parts?  Hostus Maximus Justin Fort and Brown Ryan rolled to the urban fortress that is the grade-A junkyard at Best Foreign Used Parts for an hour of good beer (some local, some very international), good shopping (when your salvage yard is so good people incorporate it in their summer travel plans), good Mexican food (now you know), and good stories about the sipping scene in the 'Springs itself.  Don, Jake and Sam joined in, but Tom and the 'yard dogs were off that day. Beer here: Outlaw Lager, Breck's Funslinger (and a few I.P.A.s), Odell's Blackberry, Hillas and Mythos (from Greece), and Berthod's I.P.A..  Dude Food: Old Chicago, Lou Malnati's, Breckenridge Brewing, and enough Mexican to plug the hole in the Titanic.

  • 07.04.26 (MP3): Happy Birthday, America! Independence Day in B.F.E. (Hangout in da Garadtch), w/ Truck Parts, Good Engines, Wrecked 4Runners, Co. Springs WW2 Air Force Museum, Fireworks VS Mortars, Marines VS Army, Kiel VS Nillson, + Rock & Roll 17.07.2026 58мин
The Garage Hour goons assembled at Location BFE for an hour of good garagey fun - salvaging parts from rolled trucks, hubcaps versus center caps, some of the more durable engines, and current catalytic convertor costs.  There's also some villains, some mortar rounds, a look at the 'Springs' WW2 Air Force Museum, some dead baby jokes (yeah, I know, we couldn't help ourselves - the chicken started it), and an Excellent Weirdo R.I.P. for Kjell Nillson - better known as Lord Humongous. Still in there: clips versus mags, extension cords, questionable fireworks, a fancy starter, JFS4, the live-fire zone that is Colorado Springs on Independence Day, flybys from the U.S. military (and the French?), and Five-Horse Johnson sets the mood.

  • 06.26.26 (MP3): When DO Animals Attack the Garage Hour? More Hype but Same Man-Eating... Bullets for Bears, Wandering Wolves & Bad Bureaucrats, Fighting & Fleeing for Humans (Even the Dumb Ones), + Citizen Vigilante, Stereo Connectivity & Electric Wizard 04.07.2026 1ч 2мин
Here's the top line (up front, for once...): bears and wolves and meese and bees and pigs and all sorts of wildlife attack humans - you're on their menu.  If you're prepared - right caliber, correct mindset, and knowing we're superior because of our brains and our tools (not our claws or our ability to rip a Honda apart with our teeth), you'll be fine.  However, so many people are wandering into the woods without a whiff of sense or any serious prep, and they're gonna get et.  Don't be an idiot (or a fool) and revel in the opportunity to survive in style.  Probablmaybe.  In the mean time, have fun stocking up on nasty bear rounds and pig-hunting techniques, train the dogs, hide the kids, learn to play dead and keep avoiding Canadians. While we're at it: a Mexican Batman (taping thieves to lamp posts), an American citizen (Vigilante), some sporty stereo wiring (HDMI and S-video and RG-59, oh my), plus a truckload of mama's Electric Wizard.

  • 06.22.26 (MP3): Are Robot Cars Free Doom? Flying Teslas Kill Grandma (Who's First?), Drones Hunt Their Pilot (& Skeet w/ Prizes), Waymo Taxis Get Attacky (& Thousands Recalled), Construction Workers (on Robot Menu), Robot Weapons (Case in Point), + Snail 30.06.2026 1ч 2мин
Tech... is still not on your side - from the Garage Hour to God's ears.  Gearheads and geeks are here to help, though, reporting on the disturbing increase in incidents the are either blamed on artificial idiocy or the result of it.  From thousands of robot cars ala Waymo and friends with "software issues" that cause them to hit construction zones at freeway speed (and hit semis, and hit SWAT standoffs, and hit your neighborhood like a swarm of locusts), to flying Teslas that hit your grandma's house doing 70mph.  ...Mayyyyybe there's a little too much permission and a lot too much of tech companies beta testing their poorly guided cruise missiles on the same street your kids are throwing the frisbee on (poorly, I might add - tell them to use more wrist). Join us in being wayyy more worried about these stupid-intelligent amoral arguments against progress - nobody wants an omelette when the eggs they break are you. ...And when your accident may be intentional, we've got a shout out for the crowd at Cove Creek this PPIHC just past, a look at what a good marine does when some local crooks try to steal his truck, and a metric crapton of killer doom-blues from Snail.

  • 06.12.26 (MP3): Road-Racing & Hillclimbing (Bigs @ Europe & America) - Pike's Peak Intl. & 24 Hours of LeMans, w/ The Drivers, Cars, Some Classes & Some Details, Rules VS Racing, + Another Electric Car Explodey Battery Recall & Z-Trip 14.06.2026 57мин
Racing, racing, everywhere, but not a drop left to spend because it's a great way to make a small fortune (out of a big one)... We've got a pile of left-right road-racey sticky tire preambling from some of the most legendary automotive races in the world (until we start racing spaceships) - the 24 Hours of LeMans is on right now, and the Pike's Peak International Hillclimb comes up next weekend.  We've even got a look forward at some good racing happening down under (once it cools off a little) at the Lemans-On-A-Mountain known as Bathurst, and Targa Tasmania, which races on a whole island. While you're in there, take a gander at another electric car recall because of minivan batteries that like to catch fire when being charged (nice work, Chrysler), and at the request of the Baron, rolling nothing but  Z-Trip tracks and turntable behavior in the background.

  • 06.02.26 (MP3): Gearhead Awesomepile! Seatbelts VS Physics, Tank-Dozer VS Local Gov't, Ferrari VS Attractiveness, Audiot VS Golf Kart, Porsche Week VS Black Paint Month, 787 VS Gravity, Poop VS Mailbox, + Angry Midgets, Vaughn's Finger & The Professors 12.06.2026 1ч 1мин
First, let's get this clear - typing with a smashed finger is hard.  On the plus side, it's not Vaughn's finger, which is now missing (keep your hands inside the truck on-trail).  Another warning: seatbelts are good (especially when Audiots are known to be in the area).  This episode's one of those gearhead-sink specials, where everything is interesting and there's too much geek goodness for one (Garage) hour.  We've got black paint on Scott's 911 and Ryan's B6, black music (does Black Sabbath quality?), Ferrari missing the electric-car boat in the most expensive (and ugliest) way possible (...introducing the Ferrari Aztek!), a fix for politicians who missed the Freedom Train and were trying to put spyware in new cars (can't flee the mutant eskimo polar deer monsters if the car won't start), and a bit of an over-the-shoulder anniversary look at the hypnotic tale of a man who couldn't take it any longer, so he built a tank out a bulldozer. There's also a 787 that narrowly missed FALLING on the runway-lights guy, technology (still not on our side), the robin that keeps pooping on the mailbox, and the Professors (not the Torquays - next time).

  • 05.22.26 (MP3): Ideas Work Better When Your Brain Works Too (Contrive Drunk, Execute Sober), More Mass-Air Madness, Honoring The Trucker (Minor Skills Make Major Difference), Tesla Trucks Won't Float, Reverse Cameras Can't See, + Dude Food & Beau Weevils 01.06.2026 54мин
It's a leftover episode (or an episode made of leftovers) - who's hungry? This here Garage Hour is a delicious assortment of parts that'll put your mother's goulash to shame. Made with the finest ingredients we could find in the back of the 'fridge (and/or on the cutting room floor), we've got trucker skills, Tesla fails, drinking ideas versus sobering wrenches, gas prices, beer tourism, estate sale chemicals, thoughts on mass-air sensors, why so many reverse-cameras are being recalled (rightly so - turn your head already), and how to avoid the dreaded doom-loop of bad-idea layering. Meanwhile, there's the random outsourcing with the Walkin' Dude, Mr. Intolerant, White Mark the Diversity Hire, Tony Sawaya, Homer Simpson and Henchman 23.

  • 05.02.26 (MP3): What Fancy Cars Are Preferred by Fraudsters? Which Food-Delivery Zoombie Will Post Pictures of You Online? Which Bigfoot Gets the Best Press? Also, A Rav4's Funeral & Frankenstein Switches, + So Much Zep (ala Physical & B-Side Winners) 28.05.2026 54мин
Out of order awesomeness... Which luxury and/or exotic cars are preferred by crooks and food-stamp fraudsters (by brand - Ferarris and Lambos and Porsches, oh my) - and what your car behavior says about you (publicly, on gov't docs, you fool), why trusting Door Dash randos to not film you passed out through a closed door and then go full tick-tocking victim-voyeur is probably a bridge too far (invite the worst and you'll get it) and why there's an entire generation that deserves the Ray Liotta prison-island treatment, and the sad death of a (and some fun history about) the first-generation Toyota Rav4. There's also a warning from the Gearhead Consultancy: when you're having fun at less-sanctioned small-scale car-guy gatherings like a bit of crawling, an illegal street race or a monster truck event in Colombia, keeping your head on a swivel is not optional - what keeps you safe is YOU. All that, plus project pouncing (let the geek ride!), Led Zeppelin, battle-driving and coyotes in Chi-town, Bigfoot and friends (El Squatcho and attack avocados - real or just underdiscovered?), and wearing pants for the neighbors.

A surprisingly gearheadly episode for something served with a side of dried apples - it's time to tighten your belt and peel your ears.  We've got someone spoofing The Hoff's Knight 2000 so Mr. Someone can speed through school zones, tunnels falling apart in big cities (not always fatal), tales of tickets and fees that no one earned (and some tolls that no one deserved - talk about incompetence...), trucks on mountains at night, Porsche selling off properties because they overreached again (some more), and many more auto manufacturers (including the guys at Porch) taking yuge losses on electric cars. There's also some thoughts on bad radio ads (beta much, you incompetent boobs?), good beans, and a septic tanker that parked in the second worse spot in the world.  Also, a the Unida/Dozer split album...

Yes, have some... ideas about cleaning your K&N-style cotton filter: how often do you check it (more often), how much do you soak it (more soaking), what do you look for when it's clean (more clean), how dry does it need to be (more dry), and how much oil do you need to put on it (less oil).  Hostus Maximus Justin Fort, the Walkin' Dude and a spider got together at the Garage Hour's Location B.F.E. for an hour of keeping that filter cleaner, longer, and how to fix the little to-dos that crop up when you're getting it done, like oil on the mass-air, mud in the mesh, and water in the snorkus. While we're at it, there's a metric crapton of '90s industrial and goth-metal, a C-130, a mystery squeak in a Subaru Legacy's 2.5-liter flat-four, a bloodhound, about a dozen horns, some sporty chemicals and Dani's favorite skillet.
