  • Ep. 539: Do You Honor Jesus' Name? 24.09.2026 7мин
Do you honor the name of Jesus? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay continues exploring the question, “Is Jesus really my King?” by looking at what it means to honor Jesus not only with our words but also through the way we live. While honoring Jesus’ name includes treating His name with reverence and refusing to use it carelessly or disrespectfully, Jay focuses on an even bigger question: What does your life communicate about Jesus to the people around you? The name Christian means belonging to Christ and being like Christ, which means our lives can either point people toward Jesus or give them a distorted picture of who He is. Romans 2:23–24 warns about dishonoring God when those who claim to follow Him live in ways that contradict His character. Jay encourages Christian teens and young adults to consider whether their lives reflect the joy, humility, love, mercy, grace, and redemption of Jesus. None of us will live perfectly, but our goal should be to represent our King faithfully rather than pursue pride, selfishness, or sin. Ask yourself today: If people know that I am a Christian, does the way I live give them a clearer picture of Jesus and make His name more honored?Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. • Ep. 538: Do You Submit to Jesus' Authority? 23.09.2026 8мин
Do you really submit to Jesus’ authority? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay continues exploring the question, “Is Jesus really my King?” by challenging teens and young adults to look beyond what they say they believe and examine whether their lives demonstrate submission to Jesus as Lord. In Matthew 28:18–20, Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him and commands His followers to make disciples who obey His commands. Jay encourages you to honestly consider whether there are areas of your life that you have intentionally kept outside of Jesus’ authority. Maybe it is a sinful habit, what you watch or listen to, the words you speak, or an area of moral purity. But disobedience can also look like refusing to take a step of faith that you know God is calling you to take, whether that means praying with someone, sharing your faith, growing in your devotional life, or becoming more generous. Following Jesus means both turning away from what is wrong and stepping into what is right. Fear, laziness, or our attachment to sin can keep us from obeying, but Jesus is a good King who loves His people and calls them toward a life that is rich with purpose, even when it involves sacrifice and difficulty. Ask yourself today: Is there an area of my life where I am not living under the authority of Jesus? Then ask the Holy Spirit for the strength to repent, obey, and follow your King.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. • Ep. 537: Do You Care About God's Glory? 22.09.2026 7мин
Do you really care about God’s glory? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay continues exploring the question, “Is Jesus really my King?” by challenging teens and young adults to examine whether their lives show that they care about God’s reputation, name, and glory. Philippians 2:9–11 teaches that Jesus has been highly exalted and that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Jay uses the passion people have for their favorite sports teams and hobbies to illustrate how naturally we promote and celebrate the things we love. If Jesus truly is King, then our passion should ultimately point beyond ourselves and toward God. Caring about God’s glory means being unashamed of following Jesus, being willing to identify as a Christian, and caring about how our words and actions reflect the character of God. Jay also challenges listeners to consider whether they are more concerned with their own glory than God’s glory. If the evidence of your life shows that you have been focused primarily on yourself, that is an opportunity for repentance and a renewed commitment to live for Jesus. Ask yourself today: Do I genuinely care about God’s glory, and does my life show it?Listen and Subscribe:Apple Podcasts | SpotifyConnect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. • Ep. 536: Is Jesus Really Your King? 21.09.2026 6мин
Is Jesus really your King, or is He simply your Savior? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay challenges teens and young adults to examine whether their faith is truly their own and whether the evidence of their lives shows that Jesus is Lord. Colossians 1:13–14 reminds us that God has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, giving us redemption and forgiveness. It is easy to think of Christianity as simply asking Jesus to save us so we can go to heaven, but Scripture calls us to recognize Jesus as both Savior and King. Jay encourages you to honestly examine your thoughts, desires, choices, conversations, and priorities and ask whether they demonstrate that Jesus is truly in charge of your life. When we discover areas where we have been living as our own king, the answer is repentance: turning away from ourselves and turning toward Jesus. Following Jesus means more than feeling bad about sin. It means changing direction and submitting our lives to the rightful King. As this week begins, take some time to ask yourself: Is Jesus really my King, and what evidence in my life shows it?Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. • Ep. 535: What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do 18.09.2026 8мин
What do you do when you need to make an important decision but cannot find a clear answer in Scripture or know exactly how Jesus would respond? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay brings the week’s conversation about determining right and wrong to a close by exploring three gifts God has given believers for navigating difficult decisions: the Holy Spirit, our conscience, and a wise community of believers. Jay explains how the Holy Spirit guides and reminds us of Jesus’ teaching, how our conscience can serve as an important warning when it is sensitive to God’s truth, and why seeking wise counsel is an essential part of Christian maturity. Drawing from Proverbs 11:14, Jay encourages teens and young adults to welcome guidance from godly parents, mentors, spiritual leaders, and trusted believers who can offer wisdom and perspectives we may not see for ourselves. Whether you are making decisions about relationships, education, career, or other major life choices, you do not have to figure everything out alone. Learn how listening to the Holy Spirit, paying attention to your conscience, and seeking an abundance of wise counsel can help you grow in wisdom, practice what is right, and pursue a life that honors God.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 534: The Bible is More Than Just A Rulebook! 17.09.2026 8мин
How do you know what God wants you to do when the Bible does not give you a specific rule for every situation? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay explains why God’s Word is more than just a rulebook and how Scripture provides both clear commands and practical wisdom for making godly decisions. While the Bible contains definitive moral standards, not every Old Testament regulation applies directly to Christians today, so believers also need to understand the difference between specific rules, biblical principles, and wisdom. Jay encourages teens and young adults to look first to God and Jesus, then search Scripture for clear instructions that apply to their situation, and finally look for wisdom through books such as Proverbs, Psalms, Ecclesiastes, the Gospels, and the New Testament. By developing a daily habit of reading and meditating on Scripture, you can become better equipped to discern right from wrong, navigate difficult decisions, and pursue what is good and true. When you are unsure what to do, go to God’s Word and look not only for rules, but for the wisdom and guidance that help you live faithfully.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 533: When In Doubt, Look To Jesus 16.09.2026 7мин
How do you determine what is right and wrong when culture, feelings, and human opinions can be misleading? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay points teens and young adults to Jesus as the ultimate example of goodness, holiness, truth, and righteousness. Because Jesus is God in human form, we can look at His life in Scripture to see what it looks like to live according to God’s standard while navigating the same kinds of relationships and challenges we face today. Jay explores how Jesus consistently upheld truth and righteousness while showing genuine love and mercy to sinners, reminding us that loving someone does not require affirming sinful choices. Through the example of Jesus and the wisdom of Micah 6:8, Jay encourages listeners to pursue justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. When you are unsure how to live rightly, look to Jesus and discover what biblical goodness looks like in action.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 532: Do Your Feelings, Culture, Or God Determine Right And Wrong? 15.09.2026 7мин
How do you determine whether something is truly good or evil? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay examines the different standards people often use to determine right and wrong, including personal feelings, majority opinion, cultural norms, and human reasoning. While these standards may seem convincing, Jay explains from Scripture why they cannot provide a reliable foundation for morality. Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us that the human heart can be deceptive, while Colossians 2:8 warns believers not to be taken captive by worldly philosophies and human traditions. Through historical and modern examples, Jay challenges teens and young adults to examine whether their beliefs and choices are actually guided by God’s Word or simply shaped by what feels right and what everyone else is doing. Discover why biblical truth provides a rock solid standard for right and wrong and how repentance means turning away from the ways of the world and toward God’s way of life.Listen and Subscribe:Apple Podcasts | SpotifyConnect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 531: How Do I Determine Right From Wrong? 14.09.2026 7мин
How do you know what is truly right or wrong in a world where culture, personal feelings, and popular opinion constantly change? In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay explores how Christians can discern good from evil and why cultural norms, conscience, and majority opinion cannot provide a reliable absolute standard for morality. Looking at examples from history and modern culture, Jay challenges teens and young adults to examine the areas of life where they may be accepting something simply because it is considered normal. From entertainment and relationships to language, money, and the pursuit of power, Christians are called to measure their choices against the truth of God’s Word. Drawing from Judges 21 and Psalm 139, Jay encourages listeners to ask God to search their hearts, reveal anything that does not align with His truth, and lead them toward repentance. Discover why the Bible provides an unchanging foundation for knowing right from wrong and how learning biblical discernment can shape the way you live and talk with others.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 530: Live Humble, Live Grateful 11.09.2026 6мин
In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay wraps up the week by challenging Christian teens and young adults to live with humility and gratitude because of who God has made them to be. Reflecting on Psalm 8, Jay considers the majesty of God’s creation and the incredible truth that human beings are made in God’s image and, through faith in Jesus Christ, can become children of God. These foundational truths are not achievements we earn but gifts God has given us, giving us every reason to approach life with humility rather than pride and gratitude rather than entitlement. Jay encourages young believers to recognize their responsibility and accountability as image bearers while remaining amazed that the Creator knows, loves, and cares for them. Even in seasons of hardship, Christians can live with joy and hope because their future is secure in Christ and they are made for eternity. This episode is an encouragement to live humbly, live gratefully, and fully embrace the life God has given you.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 529: God Doesn't Love You Less When You Fail 10.09.2026 7мин
In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay explores the reassuring truth that God does not love His children less when they fail. While our mistakes, sins, and poor choices have real consequences and should lead us toward repentance, our failures do not cause God to withdraw His love from those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Jay reflects on his own journey of faith and points to the powerful promises of Romans 8, reminding Christian teens and young adults that nothing in all creation can separate believers from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Our relationship with God is not based on perfect performance but on the finished work of Jesus, giving us the freedom to repent, receive forgiveness, return to fellowship with God, and pursue holiness. If you are struggling with guilt, failure, or feeling unworthy of God’s love, this episode offers a powerful reminder that you are not beyond His grace and that His unchanging love gives you the freedom to come back to Him.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 528: God Doesn't Love You More When You Succeed 09.09.2026 7мин
In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay explores the freedom that comes from understanding God’s unconditional love for His children. Many teens and young adults struggle with a performance mindset, believing that God loves them more when they succeed, get good grades, excel in sports, serve faithfully, or make good choices, and loves them less when they fail. Jay points to Romans 5:8, reminding us that God demonstrated His love for us while we were still sinners and that Jesus gave Himself for us completely. Our identity and value before God are not based on achievement, productivity, success, or perfection. Instead, those who have placed their faith in Jesus are fully loved by God and can live, serve, work hard, and pursue excellence from a place of security rather than striving for God’s approval. This episode encourages Christian teens and young adults to let go of performance based faith and find the freedom to pursue God and live boldly because they are already deeply loved by their Heavenly Father.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 527: How Has Your Dad Affected Your View of God? 08.09.2026 7мин
In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay explores how our relationship with our earthly father can influence the way we understand and relate to God as our Heavenly Father. Through Romans 8 and the biblical picture of adoption, Jay explains that God invites His children into a close and personal relationship with Him, but experiences with an absent, distant, or abusive father can sometimes make it difficult to see God accurately. Drawing from his own experience with a loving and faithful dad, Jay contrasts the imperfections of earthly fathers with the perfect character of God, who is loving, good, patient, present, and committed to His children. For teens and young adults who have experienced father wounds or struggled to understand God as Father, this episode offers encouragement and the reminder that God is not defined by our earthly relationships. In Christ, we can know the perfect Father who loves us, disciplines us for our good, and promises to work all things together for those who love Him.Listen and Subscribe:Apple Podcasts | SpotifyConnect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 526: We Are Not All God's Children 07.09.2026 6мин
In this episode of Guided by Faith, Jay explores what it truly means to be a child of God and challenges the common belief that everyone is automatically God’s child. Through passages including John 1, Romans 8, 1 John 3, Romans 9, and John 8, Jay explains that becoming a child of God happens through faith in Jesus Christ, not through physical descent, good works, accomplishments, or simply being created by God. As a child of God, believers are given the Holy Spirit, new desires, and a desire to please their Heavenly Father by living according to His ways and loving others. Jay also emphasizes that the invitation to become a child of God through Jesus is available to everyone, encouraging teens and young adults to consider whether they have personally placed their faith in Christ and to praise God for the incredible identity and privilege of being His child.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 525: What Does it Mean to Bear the Image of God? 04.09.2026 8мин
In Episode 525 of Guided by Faith, Jay takes a deeper look at what it means to be created in the image of God and why this truth matters for Christian identity. Drawing from Genesis 1:27, he explains that being an image bearer means reflecting aspects of God through our ability to reason, create, innovate, make moral and ethical decisions, steward creation, build relationships, and recognize the God given value of every human soul. Because every person bears God’s image, every individual has dignity and worth regardless of their wealth, achievements, reputation, abilities, or social status. Jay also reminds Christian teens and young adults that being an image bearer comes with responsibility because we are called to represent God faithfully in the world. Most importantly, the value of your soul is demonstrated by the priceless sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This episode encourages you to reject the lies that diminish your worth, believe the truth of Scripture, and live confidently as someone created in the image of God.Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 524: You Are the Apex of God's Creation 03.09.2026 7мин
In Episode 524 of Guided by Faith, Jay addresses the identity crisis facing many teens and young adults by pointing them back to the foundational truth of Genesis 1:26 to 27: human beings are created in the image of God. Your identity is not ultimately determined by your family background, achievements, appearance, popularity, failures, abilities, or the labels society places on you. As an image bearer of God, you have a unique dignity and value that comes directly from your Creator. Jay describes humanity as the apex of God’s creation, entrusted with stewardship over the world and uniquely made in God’s image, while also pointing to Jesus becoming human to redeem creation. This episode offers encouragement for anyone struggling with feelings of inadequacy or worthlessness and reminds you that nothing you accomplish can increase your value and nothing you fail at can erase the dignity God has given you. • Ep. 523: You Were Made for God's Pleasure 02.09.2026 7мин
In Episode 523 of Guided by Faith, Jay continues exploring the question of identity by unpacking the truth that you were created for God’s pleasure. Based on Revelation 4:11, this episode expands the definition of worship beyond singing songs at church to include everything we do to please God. Prayer, reading Scripture, listening to the Holy Spirit, serving others, giving generously, developing your God given gifts, working hard, and caring for others can all become acts of worship when they are done for God. Jay also explains why following God is not an oppressive checklist but an invitation into a meaningful relationship with the Creator who made you for a purpose. Most importantly, he points teens and young adults to Jesus Christ as the ultimate way to come into relationship with God. • Ep. 522: What Does The Book of Nature Tell Us About God? 01.09.2026 8мин
In Episode 522 of Guided by Faith, Jay explores what creation reveals about the God who made it and challenges teens and young adults to look beyond Scripture to the “book of nature” as another way to recognize God’s creativity, power, joy, and wonder. From national parks and coral reefs to whales, mountains, and distant galaxies revealed through powerful telescopes, creation points to a God who delights in what He has made and invites us to share in that wonder. Drawing from Revelation 4:11, Jay reminds listeners that everything was created for God’s pleasure, including you. Your life has meaning and purpose because you were intentionally created by God, and recognizing His goodness in creation can reshape how you understand Him and yourself. This episode encourages young Christians to put down their phones, open their eyes to the world around them, and discover what creation teaches about their Creator and their own identity.Listen and Subscribe:Apple Podcasts | SpotifyConnect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
  • Ep. 521: The Danger of Being Defined by Your Achievements 31.08.2026 6мин
In Episode 521 of Guided by Faith, Jay explores the danger of building your identity around achievements, accomplishments, recognition, or the opinions of others. Whether you are known as the athlete, musician, academic, popular person, class clown, or even the person who is always left out, these labels are unstable foundations for your identity because accomplishments fade and circumstances change. Drawing from Luke 12:15 and Psalm 139, Jay challenges teens and young adults to ask a deeper question: What is the core thing that actually defines me? Instead of allowing grades, awards, talents, appearance, failures, or social status to determine your worth, this episode encourages you to examine the story you believe about yourself and ask God to reveal what is true and what is a lie. • Ep. 520: The Bible Authors Didn't Get Power, They Got Martyred 28.08.2026 8мин
In Episode 520 of Guided by Faith, Jay concludes the week by examining one final question about the trustworthiness of the Bible: Were the biblical authors simply trying to gain power, influence, or wealth? Jay argues that the lives of the early Christian leaders point in the opposite direction. Instead of receiving power and comfort, many of Jesus’ disciples faced persecution, imprisonment, suffering, and death because of their belief in Christ. Jay discusses the sacrifices of early Christian leaders including Peter, Paul, James, and Thomas and explains why their willingness to suffer for their testimony is significant when evaluating the truth of the resurrection. He brings together the week’s key evidence, including the abundance of early biblical manuscripts, archaeological discoveries, the embarrassing honesty of the biblical authors, and the suffering endured by the early followers of Jesus. For Christian teens and young adults asking whether the Bible is true and whether their faith can withstand difficult questions, this episode challenges listeners to move beyond simply saying they believe in Scripture and to ask an even more important question: Am I living my life like I believe the Bible is true?Listen and Subscribe:[Apple Podcasts] | [Spotify]Connect with Us:Website: www.guidedbyfaith.netYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GuidedbyFaithPodcastInstagram: @guidedbyfaith_podcastIf you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform and share it with friends who might benefit from this message.***Pick up a copy of Jay’s new Journal: Renewed: The 365-Day Christian Gratitude Journal https://amzn.to/3MLWavlGuided By Faith is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. For more information visit www.ChristianParenting.org
