80 | Stressed at Bedtime? Replace This Scary Prayer with a Peaceful One Instead 28.07.2026 7минDo you feel stressed when your head hits the pillow because your mind won't stop replaying fears, worries, and "what ifs"? Did a prayer you learned as a child leave you feeling anxious about God instead of experiencing the peace from God Scripture talks about? Have you ever found yourself questioning God because the faith you grew up with felt more scary than comforting? What if the way you learned to pray wasn't actually leading you toward peace, but God has something better waiting for you? What if the bedtime prayer you have said for years was actually shaping the way you see God... In this episode of God, Really?, Ash shares the moment she stopped saying "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" with her own kids because she realized the words were creating fear instead of peace. Many of us grew up carrying fears we didn't even realize we had. Fear of doing something wrong. Fear of punishment. Fear of not being enough. Fear that God was waiting for us to fail. But when Ash opened Scripture and looked deeper, she discovered something completely different about the soul, prayer, and God's character. The Bible doesn't describe a God who wants us to live stressed and afraid. It describes a God who invites us into rest, hope, and peace from God. In this episode, you'll discover what Scripture says about where your soul finds rest, how fear can impact the way you pray, and how to replace old fears with a peace prayer rooted in God's goodness. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, questioning God, or struggling to find peace in your daily life, this episode will help you see God differently. In this episode, you'll learn: Why a familiar childhood prayer may have created fear instead of peace What the Bible says about your soul and where it finds rest How fear can shape the way you view God Why God wants you to experience peace instead of constant worry What Psalm 62 teaches about finding rest in God How to create a new prayer routine built on trust in God A simple peace prayer you can use before bed with your family Download the free bedtime prayer printable: https://www.ashdion.com/bedtimeprayer Take the free Faith Quiz to discover your next step with God: https://ashdion.com/quiz Listen to more episodes of God, Really?: https://ashdion.com/listen Free resources: https://ashdion.com/resources ABOUT THE SHOW "God, Really?" is for the stressed-out mom who feels like she's losing control. 79 | Is God Good When Bad Things Happen? What This "Foolish" Mom in the Bible Tells Us 21.07.2026 13минHave you ever gone through something so hard you found yourself asking, "God, really? How could a good God let this happen to me?" Was your faith built on love or on fear of punishment, so the moment life fell apart, your trust in God started to vanish and unbelief crept in? Have you ever been called foolish, or "not faithful enough," for questioning if God is good after a loss? In this episode, I'm reopening the story of a woman Scripture has been used to villainize — Job's wife — and asking whether she was really foolish to blame God and question if He is good after watching all ten of her children die. If your faith was built on fear of punishment instead of love, hard times don't just test your faith, they can shatter your trust in God until belief isn't far behind. I'm sharing my own three years of walking away after my son wasn't healed, why I turned away angry every time someone mentioned God, and what finally brought me back: realizing I never stopped believing in the true God — only the God I was terrified of. We'll talk about the two things real faith actually needs (belief AND trust in God), why grief, lament, and honesty are not sins, and the first steps toward healing when your faith feels fragile. This one is for the mom who's been blamed for "not believing enough" and needs to know God is for her, not against her — so she can face what broke her faith and start healing with God instead of running from Him. 78 | Does Repentance Stress You Out? Find Peace Through Confession of Sins 14.07.2026 10минDid you grow up believing God was angry with you every time you sinned? Do the words confession and repentance make you feel guilty, ashamed, or afraid instead of experiencing the peace from God the Bible promises? Have you ever wondered, "Is God good... or is He just waiting for me to fail?" What if everything you were taught about confession and repentance made you fear God instead of helping you trust in God? If you grew up in a fire-and-brimstone church, today's episode may completely change how you see God. Many of us were taught that confession was about earning God's forgiveness, avoiding His anger, or hoping we had repented "enough." That kind of teaching often leaves us stressed, anxious, hiding from God, and questioning His goodness instead of experiencing the freedom Jesus died to give us. In this episode, Ash shares how walking away from faith (and eventually returning to Scripture) completely changed her understanding of confession, repentance, and God's character. You'll discover why confession of sins was never meant to produce shame, how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament sacrificial system once and for all, and why God invites you into peace instead of condemnation. If you've ever struggled to believe God is good after years of fear-based religion, this episode will help you begin your journey toward spiritual healing, renewed faith, and a deeper trust in God. In this episode you'll learn: Why confession isn't about making God forgive you The biblical difference between confession and repentance How fear-based religion can distort God's character Why Jesus' sacrifice changed everything forever How confession actually brings peace, healing, and freedom Why God isn't waiting to condemn you. 77 | Is God In Control When You've Lost Control? Modeling Faith and Patience When Your Kids Are Watching 07.07.2026 6минHave you ever looked at your child's circumstances and quietly wondered, "Is God good?" What do you do when your faith feels small, but your kids are watching how you respond? Have you ever felt like you can't help your kids grow in faith because you're still trying to heal your own? What if your kids don't need to see a perfect faith? What if they need to see a real one? When life hurts, it can be difficult to trust God. Especially when you're a mom. You want to protect your kids from pain, disappointment, and fear. But what happens when your own faith has been shaken? How do you help your children know God is good when you're still asking that question yourself? In this episode of God, Really?, Ash shares a deeply personal moment after receiving difficult news about Maximus and the heartbreak of realizing what his future may look like. In the middle of grief, tears, and uncertainty, she made a choice: she turned to God. Not with perfect faith. Not with all the answers. Not because everything suddenly felt okay. But because she needed Jesus. Ash shares why modeling faith for your kids isn't about pretending to have it all together. It isn't about performing, having perfect prayers, or never questioning God. It's about showing your children that even when your faith feels as small as a mustard seed, God is still present, God is still loving, and God is still good. If you've been struggling with questioning God, feeling overwhelmed by circumstances, or wondering how to help your kids grow in faith while you are still healing, this episode will remind you that your imperfect faith can still point your children toward Him. In this episode, you'll learn: Why your kids don't need to see a perfect faith How to model trust in God during difficult seasons Why questioning God doesn't mean you have no faith How your children learn faith by watching your response to hardship Why turning to God in your hardest moments matters How to show your kids that God is safe, loving, and present Why even a mustard seed of faith is enough Take the free Faith Quiz to discover your next step with God: https://bemightymom.com/quiz Listen to more episodes of God, Really?: https://ashdion.com/listen Free resources to help you heal your faith and grow with God: https://ashdion.com/resources ABOUT THE SHOW "God, Really?" is for the stressed-out mom who feels like she's losing control. 76 | What Is Faith? How to Trust in God When Life Doesn't Go As Planned 30.06.2026 13минWhat happens when the thing you prayed for doesn't happen and you start wondering, "Can I really trust God?" Do you feel like you're losing control because your circumstances are bigger than your ability to fix them? What if your faith doesn't have to be huge to matter? What if your mustard seed faith is already enough? Maybe you've prayed harder, tried to trust more, and begged God to change your circumstances, only to feel even more lost when nothing changes. In this episode of God, Really?, Ash shares how her son's diagnosis revealed something she never expected: her faith wasn't broken because life was hard. Her faith was built on a foundation that couldn't hold when life became painful. For years, Ash believed faith meant believing enough for the outcome she wanted. If she prayed enough, trusted enough, and had enough faith, maybe God would change the situation. But faith was never meant to be a way to control God. Faith is trusting God even when you don't understand what He is doing. It is believing in His goodness when you cannot see the outcome. It is knowing that even the smallest amount of faith can still be used by Him. Through Scripture and her own story, Ash breaks down what faith actually is, why Jesus used a mustard seed to describe faith, and why your tired, struggling, imperfect faith still counts. If you have been losing control, questioning God, or wondering if your faith is enough, this episode will remind you that God is not asking for perfection. He is inviting you into trust. Sometimes faith looks less like certainty and more like: "God, I'm still here." And that is enough. In this episode, you'll learn: What faith actually means according to Scripture Why faith is not about controlling God's response The difference between trusting God and trying to control outcomes Why unanswered prayers do not mean God has abandoned you What Jesus meant by mustard seed faith How to rebuild trust in God after disappointment Why your small faith is still real faith Take the free Faith Quiz to discover your next step in your relationship with God: https://ashdion.com/quiz Listen to more episodes of God, Really?: https://ashdion.com/listen Free resources to help you heal your faith and grow with God: https://ashdion.com/resources ABOUT THE SHOW "God, Really?" is for the stressed-out mom who feels like she's losing control. 75 | Stressed About Your Kids' Faith? What Moses Teaches Moms About Passing Down Trust in God 23.06.2026 7минHave you ever wondered, "How am I supposed to help my kids trust God when I am still trying to rebuild my own faith?" Feel stressed about your kids' faith and worry you are not doing enough to point them toward God? What if your kids do not need a perfect example of faith? What if they need to see what it looks like to seek God when life feels hard? If you want your kids to grow up knowing God, but you feel unsure how to guide them while you are still healing your own faith, this episode is for you. In this episode of God, Really?, Ash looks at Deuteronomy 6 and the instruction Moses gave about passing faith down to the next generation. Before parents were told to teach their children about God, they were first told to let God's truth transform their own hearts. Because your kids are learning about God from more than what you say. They are watching where you turn when you are stressed, overwhelmed, and feeling like you are losing control. This is not about becoming the perfect mom with the perfect relationship with God. It is about showing your kids what it looks like to trust God in real life. When your children see you pray through hard moments, seek God when you need help, and continue growing in faith, they learn that God is not someone who is distant or impossible to please. He is someone they can run toward. If you have been questioning God, struggling to find peace, or wondering if your faith is strong enough to impact your family, this episode will remind you that God can work through your honest, growing faith. Your kids do not need a perfect faith. They need to see a real one. You're in the right place. Hi, I'm Ash. Mom of two, wife, and completely obsessed with Jesus. I grew up believing I was a good Christian, until watching my child suffer led to my faith unraveling. I was struggling to believe in God and walked away from Him for nearly three years. It wasn't until 2am in my son's hospital bed when I broke down, went to God, and found He was unlike anything I had ever believed about Him and my faith life has never been the same. Finally seeing God for who He truly is, I was able to stop blaming God for everything that went wrong in my life and start thanking Him for all He has done in my life. Now, I help other moms see the true image of God too so they can live in peace with God in motherhood. 74 | Angry at God? How to Find Peace When You're Questioning If God Is Good 16.06.2026 14минHave you ever been angry at God but felt like you were not allowed to admit it? Feel stressed because you have prayed, trusted, and tried to do everything right, but your life still feels completely out of your control? Have you secretly wondered, "Is God good?" when your prayers seem unanswered and your circumstances do not change? What if your anger, disappointment, and questions are not signs that your faith is failing? What if they are the exact things God wants you to bring to Him? What do you do when you are angry at God? Most of us were never taught how to answer that question. We were taught to pray harder, trust more, and keep the right attitude. But what happens when your heart is hurting and pretending everything is okay feels impossible? In this episode of God, Really?, Ash shares why honest emotions do not scare God and why the Bible actually makes room for the prayers we are afraid to say out loud. Through Psalm 22, the story of Job, and the FAITH framework step of Acknowledge Your True Emotions, Ash explains how lament became one of the most honest forms of prayer in Scripture. If you have felt stressed, disappointed, or even angry with God, this episode will remind you that you do not have to clean yourself up before coming to Him. God is not waiting for a perfect prayer. He is inviting you into an honest one. Because healing does not begin when you stop feeling. Healing begins when you finally bring those feelings to God. 73 | Stressed About Your Kids' Faith? How to Show Them God Is Good Without Fear 11.06.2026 8минFaith-Filled Home is now God, Really? Have you ever heard yourself saying something about God to your kids and suddenly realized, "Wait... that sounds exactly like what I grew up hearing"? Feel stressed trying to teach your kids about God because you want them to know Him, but you are still healing your own relationship with Him? Do you want your kids to run toward God for peace and comfort, but you are afraid of accidentally passing down fear instead? What if your kids do not need you to have a perfect faith? What if they need to see you discover the goodness of God with them? Many moms want their kids to know God, but there is a deeper fear underneath that desire: "What if I accidentally give them the same fear of God that I grew up with?" In this episode of God, Really?, Ash talks about what happens when the version of God we were handed does not match the God revealed in Scripture. If you grew up believing God was mostly disappointed, waiting for you to mess up, or impossible to please, it can feel overwhelming to teach your children about Him. Especially when those old messages are the first ones that come out when you are parenting. Ash shares how Romans 5:8 and 1 John 4:18 reveal a God who moves toward us with love, not fear. She explains why raising kids who trust God does not require you to have everything figured out first. Your children are not looking for a perfect example. They are watching what you do when you need forgiveness, when you make mistakes, and when you need God. In this episode, you will learn how to begin creating family prayers and conversations that help your kids see God as safe, loving, and good. Because the goal is not raising kids who are afraid of God. The goal is raising kids who know they can always run to Him. 72 | Is God Good When Life Falls Apart? Why Your Stress Is Not Proof God Is Punishing You 09.06.2026 10минFaith-Filled Home is now God, Really? Have you ever wondered, "Is God good?" when your life keeps getting harder instead of easier? Feel stressed when something goes wrong and immediately start asking, "What did I do wrong?" Have you ever felt like God must be disappointed in you, correcting you, or punishing you because life did not go the way you prayed? What if the hard things happening in your life are not proof that God is against you? What if you could finally stop bracing for God's anger and start trusting His goodness? Have you ever noticed your body reacts before your mind even catches up? Something goes wrong, and your first thought is not "God is with me." It is: "Did I do something wrong?" "Is God upset with me?" "Am I being punished?" In this episode of God, Really?, Ash shares the hospital waiting room moment that exposed a belief she did not even realize she was carrying: the belief that her son's diagnoses were connected to God correcting or punishing her. This is the hidden fear many moms carry. We love God, but deep down we are still waiting for Him to be disappointed in us. Ash unpacks why transactional faith makes us believe we can control outcomes if we just pray enough, believe enough, or do everything right. She walks through healing scriptures including Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 5:8, Psalm 34:18, and Romans 8:28 to remind us that God's goodness does not disappear when life hurts. If you have been stressed, overwhelmed, or secretly wondering if God is allowing hard things because you deserve them, this episode will help you separate the voice of fear from the character of God. Your pain is real. Your questions are allowed. And God is still good. 71 | Stressed About Teaching Your Kids Faith? The Ten Commandments Reveal God's Love, Not Fear 04.06.2026 10минFaith-Filled Home is now God, Really? Do the words "Ten Commandments" make you immediately think of rules, punishment, and all the ways you could get something wrong? Feel stressed trying to teach your kids about God because you want them to love Him, but you do not want them to fear Him? Have you wondered how to help your kids trust God without passing down the same pressure and shame you carried growing up? What if the Ten Commandments were never meant to make you feel like you could never measure up? What if they were actually an invitation to understand how much God loves His people? If the Ten Commandments make you feel more anxious than encouraged, you are not alone. Many of us grew up seeing God's commands as a list of rules we had to follow perfectly. A standard we would never fully reach. A reminder of everything we might get wrong. But what if we learned the story in the wrong order? In this episode of God, Really?, Ash walks through Exodus and the moment that changes how we understand God's commands. Before God gave the Israelites instructions, He first rescued them. Because God did not say, "Obey me so I will save you." He saved them first. Then He taught them how to live in relationship with Him. Ash shares why this changes everything for moms who are trying to teach their kids about God without passing down fear, shame, or a performance-based faith. You do not need a perfect faith or a perfect lesson plan to help your kids know God. You can start with showing them a God who rescues, loves, and walks with His people. If you have been stressed about raising kids with faith, this episode will help you see God's commands differently and remind you that obedience was always meant to flow from love. 70 | The Ten Commandments Are Stressing You Out? Why God Gives Rules After Rescue, Not Rejection 02.06.2026 14минFaith-Filled Home is now God, Really? Do the words “Ten Commandments” instantly make you feel stressed, guilty, or like you are already failing God? Have you spent years trying to follow the rules, control your behavior, and be “good enough” while secretly wondering if God is disappointed in you? What if the commandments were never meant to make you feel trapped? What if they were actually given after God already proved He was for you? If you grew up believing God was waiting for you to mess up, the Ten Commandments may feel more like a list of ways to fail than a gift from a loving Father. In this episode of God, Really?, Ash goes back to Exodus 20 and uncovers the part of the story many of us missed: God rescued His people before He gave them commands. Relationship came before rules. Love came before obedience. This Bible study walks through why so many moms carry stress, fear, and the need to control their faith because they were taught to see God as someone they had to impress instead of someone who had already reached for them. You will discover how Romans 3:23-24 and Ephesians 2:8-9 reveal the truth that your worth was never based on your ability to perfectly follow the rules. The commandments were never about earning God's love. They were about responding to the God who already loved you. If you have been exhausted trying to prove yourself to God, this episode will help you find peace in knowing He was never asking you to earn what He freely gives. 69 | Are You Passing Down Fear of God? How Moms Can Replace Fear With Peace and Show Their Kids His Love 28.05.2026 8минFaith-Filled Home is now God, Really? Have you ever opened your mouth to talk to your kids about God and suddenly realized you sounded exactly like the words that scared you growing up? Do you believe God is loving, but still find yourself picturing Him as disappointed, angry, or waiting for you to mess up? What if the peace you want your kids to have with God starts with healing the way you see Him first? Many moms want their kids to know God is good, loving, and safe. But when we grew up with a fear-based view of God, it can be difficult to know what to pass down and what needs to be healed. In this episode of God, Really?, Ash unpacks the difference between a God who watches over His children and a God we feel like we have to hide from. Through Exodus 3:7 and 1 John 4:18, she reveals what Scripture actually shows us about God's character: He sees, He hears, He cares, and He moves toward His people. You'll discover why so many moms carry stress and anxiety around their relationship with God, how fear can shape the way we talk about Him with our kids, and simple ways to replace fear-based phrases with words that point your family toward God's love. This episode is not about becoming a perfect mom with perfect faith. It's about learning to trust God more deeply and creating a home where your kids know they can run toward Him, not hide from Him. If you've ever wondered, "Is God good?" or worried that your own struggles with faith might impact your children, this episode will help you find peace with who God really is. 68 | Is God Watching to Catch You? How to Stop Losing Control and Trust in God Again 26.05.2026 22минHave you ever felt like God is watching you, but not because He loves you? More like He is waiting for you to get it wrong? Feel stressed and like you have to control every part of your faith, your motherhood, and your life because you are afraid one mistake means you have failed God? What if the God you learned to fear is actually the God who has been watching over you with love all along? Have you ever wondered why trusting God feels so hard, even when you want to believe He is good? In this episode, Ash goes back to Exodus 3 and the story of Moses, a man who spent 40 years hiding after a mistake he thought disqualified him. But when God finally met Moses, He did not lead with condemnation. He said, "I have seen. I have heard. I am concerned." Ash shares how this changed the way she understood God's character and why so many moms live stressed out, anxious, and stuck in control because they are afraid they are failing Him. This episode will help you see that God is not watching to catch you doing something wrong. He is watching because He loves you and wants you to trust Him.
