  Season 7 is here, and This Is What Blind Looks Like has some new voices, new segments, and plenty to say. Angie welcomes new co-host Patty and contributor Greg the Gadget Guru as the crew tackles a question that can make or break the peace in a household: what happens when blind and sighted people live together? From moving things that were put somewhere for a reason, leaving cabinets and doors open, and turning walkways into trip hazards, to touching mobility tools and jumping in to “help” without being asked, the crew shares their own experiences and explains why certain habits can create extra work or genuine safety concerns for someone who is blind. They also get into organization, guide dogs, cooking, personal independence, and why asking someone how they want to be helped can save everyone a lot of frustration. This episode is for blind people who have ever wanted their sighted family, roommates, or partners to understand how they use their space, and for sighted people who genuinely want to be better people to live with. Greg also makes his Gadget Guru debut with Orion, an app designed to help blind users locate objects and identify what is around them, including support for Meta Ray-Bans. Then the new Ask a Blind Person segment answers a question from Maddie: Can blind people actually cook an entire meal on their own?   Angie and Kimberly sit down with Craig Duffeck, a close friend of Kimberly's and a recent college graduate who spent a semester studying abroad in Japan. Craig is blind and has cerebral palsy, and he came back with plenty to say about what actually works over there and what doesn't. The JR trains and subway system turned out to be one of the easier parts of the trip. Tactile paving runs through stations and along sidewalks. Braille shows up on public facilities in places you'd never find it here. Craig connects a lot of that infrastructure to how Japanese culture treats its older population, which changes the whole calculation on what gets built and why. Getting there was another story. Craig walks through the back-and-forth of setting up accommodations, why talking directly to the university mattered more than any official process, and the odd reality that a Japanese public restroom was more accessible than the airplane that flew him across the Pacific. His advice for anyone thinking about it: pick up some basic Japanese before you go, and get away from the tourist stops if you want to actually experience the place.
