This episode of Real Cool History for Kids is for Adelaide! You guys, when I was a little girl, I fell in love with horses. I loved to ride them, read stories about them, and just spend time brushing them. When I was 6 years old, I discovered an author who would become a writing inspiration: Margarite Henry, the author of Misty of Chincoteague. Thus, the wild ponies of Chincoteague and Assateague Islands became an obsession. By the time I was a teenager, I had drawn every illustration in Misty.
