  Después de un comienzo flamenco, anunciando la reaparición escénica de Rafael Amargo, dedicamos el resto del programa al festival Nuits d'Afrique, que hace pocos días celebraba su 40.ª edición en la cosmopolita ciudad de Montreal, Quebec, Canadá. En él estuvo presente el mundófono Juan Antonio Vázquez, de donde se trajo músicas, voces, conversaciones e impresiones y hasta una fabulosa grabación inédita del concierto que allí dieron Les Frères Sissokho. Hablamos con ellos, con el artista haitiano Wesli, con el burkinés Kanazoé y demás miembros de su Orkestra, y con la mexicana Berenice Castro, la responsable de los voluntarios, quien nos da la visión desde dentro de este festival que hemos podido disfrutar en el corazón de la ciudad de Montreal. After a flamenco opening, announcing the stage reappearance of Rafael Amargo, we devote the rest of the programme to the Nuits d'Afrique festival, which a few days ago celebrated its 40th edition in the cosmopolitan city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Present there was Mundofonías’ Juan Antonio Vázquez, who brought back music, voices, conversations and impressions, and even a fabulous unreleased recording of the concert given there by Les Frères Sissokho.   El mundo en Sofía y un final arabesco The world in Sofia and an arabesque finale Repasamos las muy interesantes jornadas del reciente festival A to Jazz, celebrado en Sofía, la capital búlgara, especialmente la primera jornada del mismo, dedicada a presentaciones o showcases de artistas de muy diversos parajes, en una estupenda selección en la que la mundófona Araceli Tzigane tuvo bastante que ver, ya que fue miembro del jurado de selección. Las músicas nos traen sones italo-balcánicos, anatolios, del sur de la India, de La Reunión, de la Barcelona mestiza, rebelde y cumbianchera, de Hungría, Portugal y Bulgaria, además de un encuentro franco-sudafricano. Terminamos anticipando, a ritmo de gnawa electrificado, el próximo festival Arabesques de Montpellier, Francia. We review the very interesting sessions of the recent A to Jazz festival, held in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, especially its first day, devoted to showcases by artists from very diverse places, in an excellent selection in which Mundofonías’ Araceli Tzigane had quite a hand, as she was a member of the selection jury. The music brings us Italian-Balkan, Anatolian and South Indian sounds, as well as from Réunion, from multicultural, rebellious and cumbianchera Barcelona, from Hungary, Portugal and Bulgaria, along with a French-South African encounter. We welcome Suzanne Rousseau, director of this Québécois festival, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and who tells us about what they have prepared for this particularly special edition.   Prendiendo candelas vivas Lighting living flames Se prende la candela en honor a grandes artistas que recordamos en esta edición de Mundofonías. Se trata del irreductible gran cantaor flamenco El Cabrero, de la gran voz de la India Asha Bhosle y de la inolvidable cantadora colombiana Totó La Momposina. De esta última rescatamos un fragmento de la entrevista que manteníamos con ella en el año 2010, donde tuvimos el lujo de oírla cantar para Mundofonías y sus oyentes. Esa candela viva también reluce para anunciar importantes eventos de música en vivo de tres continentes que anunciamos, como son Circulart, en Medellín, Colombia; A To Jazz, en Sofía, Bulgaria; el Festival Gnawa y de Músicas del Mundo de Esauira, Marruecos; el Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba, en Andalucía, España, y las Nuits Flamencas d’Aubagne, en Francia. The flame is lit in honour of great artists whom we remember in this edition of Mundofonías.
