  This week, Matt and the Girls are discussing Escaping Twin Flames on Netflix. This is our first cult documentary and we had so much to discuss that we have actually broken the conversation into two parts.  In this part, we spend a lot of time discussing the basis of cults, the mentality behind the Twin Flames, and the overall psyche of Jeff, the cult leader.   DISCLOSURE:  Lacey was visiting this week, and we thought it would be fun to record in person using one mic. The conversation is very fun, but there was not chance of editing.  Thus, there is a TON of overspeak, chaos and three girls with solid ADHD.  We understand if this is too much for some listeners.  If you think you can handle it, the discussion is quite fun and interesting.  Please be gracious and understanding, and not judge us too much for our shenanigans. The documentary discusses the cult, run by Shaleia and Jeff Divine, and features interviews with former members, exploring allegations of coercive control, indoctrination and abuse.   This week, Megan leads a discussion with Matt and Stacie about The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari on Netflix. Documentary Overview: The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari is a 2022 documentary detailing the tragic December 9, 2019 volcanic eruption of Whakaari (White Island) on the North Island of New Zealand.  Through video footage,rescuer and survivor testimony, the story of that day is captured.    The group discusses the heroing accounts of both the survivors and rescuers on the day that the volcano exploded.  We really dive into the efforts made by the members of the community to rally together to save lives, and also discuss that survivors and their stories.  It is definitely a story of overcoming advesity and it reminds you that there are still good people in the world.   Next Week's Documentary:  Escaping Twin Flames

  This week Matt and Girls discuss The Perfect Neighbor on Netflix Documentary Summary: Police bodycam footage reveals how a long-running neighborhood dispute turned fatal in this documentary about fear, prejudice and Stand Your Ground laws. Lacey leads this weeks discuss about the absolutely insane escalation of a neighborly dispute.  We discuss the "Karen"ness of Susan Lorincz and whether her complaints were warrented or not.  We dig into the Stand Your Ground Laws and racism.  It is a fun discussion that takes a few twists and turns, but really covers a lot of good topics related to this case.   Next week's Documentary: The Volcano: Escapte from Whakari

Blending archival footage and never-before-seen material, the film traces the harrowing nine months of Elizabeth's captivity at the hands of Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Barzee.   In our first episode ever, Matt and the Ladies dig in to Netflix's The Crash. Documentary Overview: A teen slams her car into a building, killing her boyfriend and his friend. What seems like a tragic accident becomes a murder case in this documentary. We dive deep into before,during, and after the incident to determine whether we think it was on purpose or an accident.  We focus a lot of Mackenzie's lack of accountability, poor parenting and the effects of social media on younger people.  We also take time to discuss the boys who lost their lives, and the lessons that can be learned from this tragic event.  There are definitly moments where we are quite harsh, so get ready!   Watch the doc, then come along for this week's discussion.  Which one of us do you agree with?
