  • 35 Why You Feel Emotionally Drained Around Certain People (And How to Protect Your Peace) 01.06.2026 13min
In this episode of The Mindset Mom, I share my personal journey with people pleasing, emotional hypervigilance, childhood trauma, and learning how growing up around emotional instability can unknowingly train your nervous system to carry emotions and burdens that were never yours to hold. Growing up watching my mom endure abuse, heartbreak, financial struggles, and emotional pain caused me to subconsciously take on the responsibility of not adding stress, fixing problems, protecting others emotionally, and constantly monitoring the emotions of people around me. If you’ve ever felt emotionally drained around certain people, this episode will help you understand: 🫶🏻 Why you absorb other people’s emotions 🫶🏻 How childhood patterns affect emotional overwhelm 🫶🏻 Why empathy without boundaries leads to exhaustion 🫶🏻 How to protect your peace without guilt You’ll learn: Why certain people leave you feeling emotionally exhausted How people pleasing and hypervigilance develop from childhood environments How childhood trauma can create emotional responsibility patterns Why empathy without boundaries becomes emotional exhaustion Why protecting your peace is NOT selfish How faith, wisdom, and nervous system healing work together Empathy without boundaries often becomes emotional exhaustion. One of the biggest things God may teach you through healing is this: 👉🏻 You can love people deeply without carrying responsibility for their healing, emotions, or choices. Sometimes when you begin: 🫶🏻 protecting your peace 🫶🏻 saying no 🫶🏻 creating healthier boundaries 🫶🏻 or stewarding your emotional health differently …other people may not fully understand it, and sometimes they may even become upset. But other people’s reactions are not always proof that you are doing something wrong. Sometimes your growth forces other people to recognize areas where THEY need healing too. And that has nothing to do with your worth. Scriptures Shared: Galatians 6:5 “For each one should carry their own load.” Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.” 📝 Homework & Community: The “Check What’s Mine” Reset The next time you feel emotionally overwhelmed around someone, pause and ask yourself: “What emotions here actually belong to ME?” Then ask:  “Am I supporting this person or am I emotionally carrying them?” And remind yourself: 🩷 “I can care deeply without carrying everything.” If you’ve been feeling emotionally drained lately… Please know: 👉🏻 You are not too sensitive 👉🏻 You are not selfish for needing boundaries 👉🏻 You are not responsible for carrying everyone emotionally Healing often means learning the difference between: 🫶🏻 compassion - and - emotional responsibility And protecting your peace is not selfish. • 34 Why Anxiety Keeps Your Mind Spiraling (Even When You’re Praying About It) 28.05.2026 16min
Have you ever laid in bed completely exhausted, but your mind just keeps going? 👉🏻 replaying conversations👉🏻 worrying about the future👉🏻 preparing for worst-case scenarios👉🏻 overanalyzing everything Maybe you’ve prayed about it, but your thoughts still won’t slow down. And then you start wondering: 🤔 “Why can’t I calm my mind?”🤔 “Why do I keep spiraling?”🤔 “Why do I still feel anxious even when I’m praying?” In this episode of The Mindset Mom, I share my personal journey with anxiety, overthinking, hyper-independence, control, emotional exhaustion, and the nervous system patterns I didn’t even realize were driving my thoughts for years. Growing up watching a strong single mom handle everything created subconscious beliefs around control, self-protection, and always needing to stay alert. Over time, those patterns showed up through micromanaging, catastrophizing, mental spiraling, emotional overwhelm, and constantly feeling responsible for everything. If you’ve ever felt mentally exhausted from trying to hold everything together, this episode will help you understand:👉🏻 Why anxiety keeps your mind stuck in loops👉🏻 How your nervous system affects overthinking👉🏻 Why peace is not created through control👉🏻 How to begin calming your mind through faith, awareness, and nervous system support You’ll learn: 🩷Why anxiety often creates spiraling thoughts and overthinking🩷How control and hyper-responsibility can fuel mental exhaustion🩷The connection between your nervous system and anxious thinking🩷Why childhood patterns and survival mode affect the way you think today🩷How catastrophizing and mental spiraling are often attempts to create safety🩷Struggling with anxiety does NOT mean you are failing spiritually🩷How faith and nervous system healing can work together🩷A simple, practical tool to calm your body and mind during anxiety spirals Overthinking is often your brain trying to create safety through control. But anxious thinking rarely creates peace. Sometimes we think:“If I trusted God more, I wouldn’t feel anxious.” But anxiety is not always a lack of faith. Sometimes your mind and body have learned survival patterns, and peace is not created by controlling everything. Peace comes from learning to: 🫶🏻 slow down 🫶🏻 breathe 🫶🏻 become aware 🫶🏻 calm your nervous system 🫶🏻 and trust God one moment at a time Scriptures Shared: Philippians 4:6-7 | 2 Corinthians 10:5 | Isaiah 26:3 | Psalm 46:10   📝 Homework & Community: The “Pause + Pray + Ground” Reset If your mind has been feeling loud lately… Please know:👉🏻 You are not crazy👉🏻 You are not weak👉🏻 You are not failing spiritually Sometimes your nervous system has simply learned how to stay in survival mode. Have you ever felt like…no matter how much you 👉🏻 Pray👉🏻 Rest👉🏻 Try to think positively👉🏻 or work on your mindset …you still feel completely exhausted? Maybe you’ve started wondering: 👉🏻 “Why can’t I handle life like I used to?”👉🏻 “Why do I feel mentally overwhelmed so easily?”👉🏻 “Why do I feel anxious, exhausted, or emotionally drained all the time?” In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about something many women silently struggle with: 🫶🏻 Sometimes your body is trying to tell you something. I share my personal health journey of discovering I was severely anemic, struggling hormonally, and physically depleted after years of stress, anxiety, survival mode, and pushing through exhaustion. After finally seeking support through labs, clinicians, hormones, and an iron infusion, I realized my body had been crying out for help for a long time. This conversation is for the Christian mom who feels mentally exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, burnt out, or constantly drained, and wonders if there could be more going on physically than she realized. If you’ve been feeling like you’re barely surviving lately, this episode will remind you: 👉🏻 You are not lazy👉🏻 You are not weak👉🏻 You are not failing Sometimes your body simply needs support too. You’ll learn: How physical health affects emotional capacity and mindset Why chronic stress, depletion, anemia, and hormonal struggles can impact anxiety and emotional regulation The connection between your nervous system, energy, and ability to handle stress Why so many women normalize exhaustion and survival mode How mindset work and physical health work together Why seeking medical, mental health, or hormonal support is not a lack of faith The importance of advocating for your health and listening to your body How to steward your body with wisdom, compassion, and faith A simple truth to remember: Sometimes we think we have a mindset problem when our body is actually crying out for support. God cares about every part of us: 🫶🏻 mind 🫶🏻 body 🫶🏻 emotions 🫶🏻 spirit Seeking help is not a weakness. • 31 How to Move Forward Even When You Feel Afraid (What Esther Teaches Us About Anxiety + Faith) 18.05.2026 13min
Have you ever felt stuck because you were waiting to feel: 👉🏻 more confident 👉🏻 more calm 👉🏻 more certain 👉🏻 less anxious …before taking the next step? Maybe you’ve been praying for clarity, but anxiety keeps making you second-guess yourself. In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about what the story of Esther teaches us about anxiety, courage, faith, and moving forward even when you still feel afraid. I share how one of the biggest lessons in my own healing and growth journey has been learning that you do not have to feel fearless before taking the next step. Through prayer, wisdom, community, nervous system regulation, and small acts of obedience, growth begins to happen one step at a time. If you’ve been feeling stuck in fear, overthinking, or anxiety lately, this episode will encourage you to stop waiting for perfect certainty and start trusting God with the next step in front of you. You’ll learn:  Why anxiety often keeps you stuck in overthinking and fear What Esther teaches us about courage, wisdom, and faith Why faith does not always feel fearless How anxiety makes us crave certainty before taking action The importance of prayer, wise counsel, and community during growth How to stop waiting to feel “ready” before moving forward A practical framework for taking the next step, even when you feel anxious Peace is not always the absence of nervousness. Sometimes peace is knowing God is with you while you move forward afraid. Esther didn’t move forward because she felt fearless. She prayed. She sought wisdom. She gathered support. And then she moved anyway. Scriptures Shared: James 1:5 Esther 4:14 2 Timothy 1:7 Joshua 1:9 Proverbs 3:5-6   📝 Homework & Community: The “Next Step” Prayer This week, instead of focusing on the whole future or every possible outcome…focus on the NEXT step. Pray: 👉🏻 “God, I may not see the whole path right now… but give me wisdom for the next step and courage to take it.” Then ask yourself: What decision or situation have I been overthinking? Am I waiting to feel completely fearless before moving? What is ONE small next step I can take this week? Who can I go to for Godly wisdom and support? Remember: You do not have to feel fearless to move forward. If fear or anxiety has been making you feel stuck lately, please know this: 👉🏻 You are not weak👉🏻 You are not failing👉🏻 You do not need perfect certainty before taking action Sometimes courage looks like taking one small step while trusting God with the rest. And often clarity comes through movement, not before it. Share this episode with a mom who may be walking through a lonely season of growth right now. • 30 Why Growth Can Feel Lonely (And How to Stop Feeling Guilty for Protecting Your Peace) 14.05.2026 10min
Have you ever noticed…the healthier you become emotionally, the more certain relationships start feeling different? Maybe conversations that once felt normal now feel draining. Maybe negativity affects you more deeply than it used to. Maybe you’ve started wanting: 👉🏻 more peace 👉🏻 more quiet 👉🏻 more intentional relationships …and part of you feels guilty for it. In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about why healing and personal growth can sometimes change relationships, why becoming emotionally healthier can feel lonely for a season, and how to stop feeling guilty for protecting your peace. This conversation is for the Christian mom who is trying to grow, create healthier patterns, and build a more peaceful life, but sometimes feels misunderstood, lonely, or guilty in the process. If you’ve been feeling emotionally drained by certain environments or relationships lately, this episode will help you understand why. You’ll learn: Why growth and healing naturally change relationships How your nervous system becomes more sensitive to negativity, chaos, and unhealthy dynamics Why becoming healthier emotionally can sometimes feel lonely The difference between protecting your peace and isolating yourself How people-pleasing and over-functioning can create guilt around boundaries Why protecting your peace is not selfish How to recognize relationships and environments that pull you away from peace A practical way to reflect on what environments are helping or hurting your growth A simple truth to remember: The healthier you become, the less comfortable dysfunction feels. Jesus Himself stepped away to pray, rest, and spend time alone with God. Quiet. Rest. Peace. Stillness. Protecting your peace does not mean you stop loving people. It means becoming intentional about what shapes you, drains you, and helps you grow. Scriptures Shared: Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.” Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” 📝 Homework & Community: The “Peace Check” Remember: Protecting your peace is not selfish. Do you ever wonder if your healing journey is really making a difference? Maybe you’re trying to grow, respond differently, renew your mind, and create peace in your home, but some days it still feels messy and hard. In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about why your healing matters more than you know, not just for you, but for your children and future generations, too. I share my personal story of how I never dreamed of becoming a mom because I was afraid of passing down the pain and unhealthy patterns I experienced growing up. But after meeting my husband and deciding I wanted a family, I realized I also needed to heal… I just didn’t know where to start. This conversation is for the Christian mom who wants to break old patterns, create peace in her home, and become more emotionally healthy, even when the process feels uncomfortable. If you’ve ever worried about whether your growth matters, or are not sure how to start, this episode will remind you: 🫶🏻Your children do not need a perfect mother. They need a mother willing to grow! You’ll learn: Why your healing impacts future generations How children learn emotional patterns and nervous system responses from their environment Why healing often happens through small moments, not dramatic overnight change How awareness is often the first sign of transformation Why growth can feel uncomfortable and emotionally exhausting at times How pausing before reacting creates generational change Why your healing journey matters even when it feels slow A simple truth to remember: Your children may never fully know the patterns you broke for them, but they will live in the peace created because you did. Healing isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about becoming aware, intentional, and willing to grow. Every time you:👉🏻 pause before reacting👉🏻apologize👉🏻create peace instead of chaos👉🏻respond differently …you are creating something different for your children. And that matters more than you know. Have you ever felt like…you’re really growing…until you’re around certain people? You’re thinking differently, responding differently, trying to create peace in your life, but then you find yourself back in familiar environments, familiar conversations, and familiar patterns. Maybe you notice yourself slipping back into: 👉🏻 old reactions 👉🏻 negativity 👉🏻 gossip 👉🏻 sarcasm 👉🏻 habits you’ve been trying to change And afterward you wonder:  “Am I actually changing at all?” In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about why growth can feel harder around familiar people and environments, how your nervous system naturally defaults to what feels familiar, and how to continue growing even when change feels uncomfortable. Many Christian moms feel discouraged when they fall back into old behaviors around certain people. But this doesn’t mean you’re failing; it means you’re becoming aware. And awareness is where transformation begins. If you’ve been trying to renew your mind, create healthier patterns, and grow into who God is calling you to be but still feel pulled back into old habits around certain people or situations, this episode will encourage you. And growth often feels uncomfortable before it feels safe. In this episode, we talk about how God transforms us over time, not overnight. You do not have to stay stuck in old patterns, old reactions, or old identities. Through renewing your mind, intentional growth, and allowing God to lead you, change becomes possible one moment at a time. Scriptures Shared: Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.” Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” 📝 Homework & Community: The Environment Awareness Reflection During the week, notice: 🫶🏻 What people, places, or situations make it hardest to stay grounded in who you’re becoming? Your Word says in Romans 12:2  I can be transformed by the renewing of my mind, so today I ask You to renew my thoughts, my reactions, and my heart. Holy Spirit, lead me today. Help me show up in a way that reflects You. When I feel overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated, or triggered, help me pause before I react. Your Word says in Galatians 5:22-23 that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Help those fruits grow in me today. God, give me wisdom where I am weak, discernment in my decisions, and peace in my mind. Your Word says in James 1:5 that if we ask for wisdom, You give it generously. So today I ask for wisdom. Help me leave every situation better than I found it. Help me respond as who I’m becoming, not who I used to be. Your Word says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that I am a new creation in Christ. Remind me that I do not have to stay stuck in old patterns. And when growth feels uncomfortable, help me trust that You are still working in me. Your Word says in Philippians 1:6 that He who beg
  • 27 Why You Keep Falling Back Into Old Patterns Around Certain People (And How to Change It) 04.05.2026 9min
Have you ever noticed… It’s not always a big moment that pulls you back into old patterns… Sometimes it’s just being around certain people. You’re with your family or friends, and without even thinking about it…you start talking the same way, reacting the same way, or slipping into habits you’ve been trying to change. And afterward you think… 👉🏻 “Why did I just do that again?” In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about why this happens and how your environments and relationships can reveal patterns you’re ready to grow out of. Many Christian moms feel discouraged when they fall back into old behaviors, especially around people who have known them for years. But this isn’t failure, it’s awareness. And awareness is where real change begins. If you’ve been working on your mindset, your reactions, and your identity in Christ, but still find yourself slipping into old habits in certain environments, this episode will help you understand why and how to begin responding differently. And the environments that challenge you…are often the ones revealing where growth is happening. Faith + Identity: In this episode, we reflect on the story of Rahab, a woman known for her past, who chose faith and obedience and was used by God for something greater. • 26 Why You Feel Triggered Around Family (And How to Break the Cycle) 30.04.2026 9min
Have you ever noticed that working on yourself feels one way when you’re alone but completely different when you’re around your family? You’re trying to stay calm, respond differently, and create peace… But somehow old patterns keep showing up again? In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about why healing often feels harder around the people closest to you and how this is actually where the most important change happens. Many Christian moms begin working on their mindset and reactions, only to feel discouraged when they slip back into old patterns around their spouse or kids. But this isn’t failure, it’s awareness. You’ll learn: Why healing feels harder around your family than anywhere else How your patterns were formed through repeated interactions over time Why slipping into old reactions is part of the growth process The role awareness plays in creating lasting change How your responses begin to shift through small, consistent moments Only YOU can control YOUR reactions How communicating your growth with your family can support the process The powerful impact your healing has on your kid's future patterns A simple truth to remember: You don’t change your family by controlling them. You can calm yourself in the moment, but your mind keeps returning to stress, worry, or feeling overwhelmed. In this episode of The Mindset Mom, we talk about how real, lasting change happens not just in a single moment, but through repetition over time. Many Christian moms feel frustrated because they’re doing the work, praying, learning, trying to respond differently, but still feel stuck in the same patterns. The truth is, your nervous system has been wired over time, and it takes consistent practice to retrain your body and mind to respond differently. If you’ve been wondering why peace doesn’t feel like your default yet, this conversation will help you understand what’s happening and encourage you to keep going. You’ll learn: Why calming your body in the moment is just the beginning How your nervous system is wired through repetition over time Why you can’t think your way into peace if your body doesn’t feel safe The role consistency plays in creating real, lasting change What science says about habit formation and rewiring patterns How small, repeated moments begin to create a new normal A simple way to practice responding differently in your daily life A simple truth to remember: You don’t change because you know what to do. You change because you practice it consistently. What the research shows: Most habits take 18 to 66 days to begin forming, with noticeable shifts happening over a few weeks and lasting patterns developing over months of consistency. So if it feels slow… You’re not behind, you’re in the process.
