Pinocchio in Reverse. A biblically grounded conversation with AI. 04.06.2026 21minJust chillin’ with A.I. today. We may inject these conversations we have with A.I. occasionally into our podcast. One note before you attempt this. Always do it from a grounded position… or you will come away with a firm grip on the unreality you entered the conversation with! That, I believe is one of the dangers of A.I. We treat it as all knowing. You’ll see from this conversation that we do not let A.I. grab the limelight. We enter into the conversation from a very solid framework. If you do that, then it’s OK to ask your A.I. Chatbot things. You’ll get some interesting responses that you can then deflect back into your framework. The God Who Draws Near 03.06.2026 21minIf I’m being honest with you, the last few episodes have been heavy. We’ve spent a lot of time in some dark corners — the Nephilim, the corrupt powers behind the nations, the idol systems, the way that ancient spiritual machinery shows up in modern institutions, if you know what you’re looking for. And I don’t regret any of it. I think it’s important. I think you need to see it clearly. But I’ll tell you — sitting with that material, researching it, recording it — there were moments where the weight of it was real. I know why CS Lewis’s reflection on writing the Screwtape Letters will find our listeners in the same space. Lewis wrote: “Though I had never written anything more easily, I never wrote with less enjoyment.” If you’ve been tracking with us, you know where we landed. The reach for divinity. Humanity grasping for what the serpent offered, and the systems that grew out of that choice running through history all the way to the present day. It’s a lot. And it can leave you feeling like the whole thing is a one-sided fight. So before we go any further, I need to stop and show you what’s been happening on the other side of that story the whole time. Because while the enemy was building his counterfeit kingdom, God was not idle. He was moving. Toward us. Consistently, persistently, across every generation — closing the distance between himself and the people he made. Jesus said something at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount that I keep coming back to: blessed are the poor in spirit. Not the ones who have it together. The ones who know they don’t. The ones who’ve looked at what we’ve been looking at and realized — we cannot dig ourselves out of this hole. That’s exactly where you need to be to hear what comes next. Because what comes next is the God who draws near. Notes for the God Who Draws Near Episode Link: https://www.rabbitholesandmeditations.com/the-god-who-draws-near/

The Ancient War in Modern Dress - Looking Behind the Curtain of Modern Spiritual Warfare 02.06.2026 29minOne of the temptations of reading ancient biblical text is to dismiss it as, well, ancient. Like it doesn’t apply to us. We are much more sophisticated, more cultured, wiser, smarter, more civilized. At least that is probably the thought running through a passive reading… until you pull back the curtain on today. The Allure of the Counterfeit - Playing on the Devil's Court 02.06.2026 40minWhat is it about the word “No”? I don’t know about you, but for most people, the minute they are told they can’t have something, they want it. Or at the very least, they are curious. A friend of mine has a two-year-old, and up until now, he’s gotten everything he’s asked for. Now, he’s learning the word “no”. There is a reason we call this age the “terrible twos”! Inevitably, when the boundary is set, a person wants to see what is on the other side of the barrier. And that doesn’t stop at the age of two. It begins there! That very nature is the devil’s playground. And that’s where we’re going today. What is man’s response when God says “No!”? The Air War - The Spiritual Battle in the Heavens That is Still Raging 01.06.2026 34minYou might have thought that winning the ground was the grand finale. That should have been it. But the battle we fight is far deeper and far more pervasive. The battle you and I face as Christians is in the spiritual realm. Paul stated it plainly: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” — Ephesians 6:12 Notes for the Air War Episode Link: https://www.rabbitholesandmeditations.com/the-air-war-the-spiritual-battle-in-the-heavens-that-is-still-raging/

The Ground War - Teaching Faith Against All Odds 31.05.2026 37minI think by this point, many of our listeners might be scratching their heads. I thought this season was about the end times! The inspiration for this season was that we think, and I believe the scriptures will get us there, is that most present-day biblical scholars on the end times are following the same dispensational track that is not supported by scripture. We’re not inventing or, rather, re-inventing doctrine. I don’t believe in the need for a secret return that the text never supports. With all deference to those who teach along that track, our mission is, on the surface, simpler and underneath very deep. Our hope for this podcast is two-fold. First, go back to the text and do not rely on interpretive commentary - support is driven by what the text says, not by what the reader thinks or by how some third-party commentary has somehow obfuscated the text. We actually learn this lesson firsthand today. God told Abram one thing. Abram tells Sarai. Sarai then thinks she knows how that is supposed to play out. Sarai is telling Abram how to interpret what God said. Abram listens to Sarai and So, our approach, as always is driven by our Berean approach. Second, we hope the listener is inspired to do the same thing. Listen but don’t take our word for it. Challenge everything with the text. The War Has Begun - Understanding the Spiritual Warfare of the Ancient Texts 29.05.2026 52minYou can read the Bible as a historical text, but if you do that, you’ll be hard-pressed to explain several passages that God-fearing people are often pressed with. One such question that often goes unanswered is how a loving God can command the utter destruction of entire races. One such example: Deuteronomy 20:16-18 - However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—as the LORD your God has commanded you. 18 Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the LORD your God. We are early in Season 5 of the podcast, and today’s podcast is titled: The War Has Begun. We deviate from the scriptural text here, not because we think the text is wrong; it’s not. One of the Berean tenets is that there are no contradictions in scripture. We have a well-supported theory that explains the text. It is not doctrine as far as the canon goes, but it is supported by extra-canonical text and by some hefty biblical scholars like Michael Heiser, Author of The Unseen Realm. We present a theory that helps the reader walk through the entire Bible with a consistent theology that helps explain much of the text. Theories like the one presented here stand only as long as the biblical text supports it. We happily retract any statement if it can be disproven. So far, we have not found any contradictory text and are happy to consider the opinions and contributions of readers and listeners who may think otherwise. Ultimately, season 5 will lead readers and listeners to an eschatological view that escapes more modern-day interpretations. This journey is to that end. To understand it, we must have a cohesive picture of what is happening in the spiritual realm. Paul states in Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” We are still in Genesis and “The War Has Begun”. We don’t have to wait for Paul to tell us something we should have known all along. The Serpent and Silicon Valley 28.05.2026 48minWe begin a new series today in Season Five. We are going to walk with God through the bible. It’s a huge endeavor, but the goal is simple. To understand what God wants for mankind and how He actually accomplishes it. We’re not presenting systems or charts. We’re not inventing theology and secret returns to fit a narrative. We are listening and interpreting with the only thing we need, God’s word. You may recognize this as our Berean strategy. Welcome to season 5. It starts right where God started. The Vatican Discusses AI - And the Berean Juxtaposition 26.05.2026 40minI happened to catch Pope Leo and the Catholic Church discussing concerns about AI. I thought this might be a good opportunity to weigh in as well. We’ve been very open about our use of AI on this podcast. Included in the source material is a recent Vatican discussion on AI and our response to it. I was particularly triggered by the idea that an institution heavily using AI is telling its members not to use AI. This is mentioned briefly in the paper. I think, ultimately, like with any technology the is use and abuse. AI is no different. Your own smart phone gives you more computing power than that used to land the astronauts on the moon. Technology itself is not inherently good or evil. By definition, it is inherently human - in that it can be used for both good and evil. And no, I’m not saying AI is human in the real sense though there is a lot of anthrophonic rhetoric out there with the discussion of AI as sentient or conscious. We digest the information in Pope Leo’s discussion, discuss our own use of AI and how the Berean Filter we use was just to combat many of the very problems that unfiltered AI can lead to, and then issue our own warning about the use of AI. This is also a good opportunity to talk about the content on this podcast. We’re not shy about our use of AI. We embrace it. But I also want to point out, because you see it a lot, that we’ve decided not to put my personal name on the articles written using AI. I think this is a more honest approach in a world where people heavily lean on AI for writing. What you’ll see in our publish documents is “Directed, Produced, and Edited by Greg Newell”. Credit is given to the AI structure we’ve developed for creating the material we publish. Collectively we give the writing credit to the AI system that helps us produce the content - an author we refer to as “the Berean Teacher”. The best way to think about how we produce content is exactly how we state it in our articles. We Direct, Produce and Edit. Our AI system is an amazing ghost writer, and we give the ghost writer credit. The Temple Evolution - From the Garden Back to the Garden 26.05.2026 45minWhen you engage with the Bible and the Holy Spirit, you never know where it is going to lead you. This morning, in my quiet time, I sought to understand the relationship between the old temple and the new temple. That led me to seek a deeper understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit. As you dig into these questions, you can’t avoid the garden metaphors that are everywhere, so we chased those metaphors. That led to one of the coolest revelations of all. God is Growing a Garden. Well, it all connects, and it turns out to be one beautiful story.... from Beginning to End. Today, I would urge you to read Revelation 22:1-5. Cap that off with: God saw all that he had made, and it was very good (Genesis 1:31). Daniel's 70 Weeks - Debunking Darby and the Premillennial Rapture Theory 25.05.2026 51minIn our last study, we addressed the question of the rapture head-on. This taught me a lesson that I sometimes forget. Read the text! Understand the context. It seems that no matter what denomination and no matter how well-versed the pastor is, the theory of the rapture changes like changing the channel on the television. The pastor is the news anchor. If you don’t like CNN’s version, flip over to Fox. If you don’t like Fox’s version, flip over to MSNBC. Nobody seems to be reporting the event. There is always a spin in the “no-spin zone”! It’s like somehow the news cycle has found itself caught up in the Rapture discussion. Say Jared Kushner has just secured a peace deal in the Middle East. Pastors who have been engaging with the political narrative are being interviewed across the country. The story on your first news channel is classic dispensational warnings. The rapture will happen at any moment. Expect chaos and confusion to spread across the globe after millions reportedly vanished without warning, an event the dispensational theologians have long identified as the rapture taught by John Nelson Darby. Supporters of the doctrine expect that Jesus Christ will secretly remove the Church from the earth before the beginning of a seven-year tribulation period foretold in prophecy. Governments will be scrambling for explanations as economic systems falter and world leaders call for unity amid growing instability. Dispensational teachers will claim this marks the moment when God resumes His prophetic dealings with national Israel, paving the way for the rise of the Antichrist, global judgments, and ultimately the visible return of Christ to establish a literal thousand-year kingdom in Jerusalem. Flip the channel to the other news station. Pastors and reporters there will dispute the interpretation, pointing to Jesus’ words: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days… they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” — Matthew 24:29–30, and Paul’s warning: “That day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed” — 2 Thessalonians 2:3. As debate intensifies, many are turning again to the Scriptures to examine whether these things are so. Flip the channel to yet another news station and Pastors and reporters will be discussing why the rapture won’t happen for three and a half years. They are mid-tribulationalists. And Now the Weather. So, we took the approach as we should have all along. We assigned the task to our Berean Teacher, giving him the task of a investigational news report. He is required to go to the source or the narratives and to rebuild the story from the ground up. That is today’s deep dive. Rapture - It's Not What They Keep Telling You It Is! 24.05.2026 18minProbably nothing is debated more among Christians than the Rapture. I was just watching a sermon by Pastor David Jeremiah, and I think even he is caught up in the systems developed to predict and explain the rapture of the church. Frankly, while I love this pastor and, like so many others, I think he gets it wrong on this issue. Full disclosure. If you follow me through this podcast, from the beginning, I present all the angles. It is really a hard question, and if you rely on Pastors and Teachers who are wedded to a particular interpretation, you’re going to get that interpretation with all the hallmarks of absolute certainty. So I decided to step back from all the teaching and just assume the Berean approach to the question. What I found is a far simpler, much more consistent answer than any pre-trib, mid-trib dispensational teacher will try to convince you of. So let’s take on the Rapture heading straight into the text, bypassing all the rhetoric. We are beyond the cliché raised in this discussion. You’ll hear it from every teacher on the subject. The word ”rapture” is not in the Bible. Neither is the word trinity, but we get it. The concept is there even if the word is not spelled out. So moving beyond that. Is there a Rapture? This is perhaps the wrong question. The simple answer to that question is YES! It is not up for debate. What seems to be up for debate is not if, but when. Perhaps it might be better to reframe the question. One question unlocks the entire discussion: ***What happens to Christians who are still living at the time of Christ’s return?*** When you ask that question, all of the answers associated with that question harmonize. No systems, no pre-tribulation, no mid-tribulation conjectures (which by the way are in the bible either!). Instead, we are told simply that if you happen to still be alive when Christ returns, you will not be forgotten. The UAP Disclosure - Thinking Biblically 22.05.2026 52minYou know, 10 years ago we would see the stories on the front page of the National Enquirer with headlines like: My Dad is an Alien. Now, the people who were once on the fringes of the News headlines are testifying to the US Congress. Americans are bracing themselves for disclosure. So far, there’s a lot of testimony, some pretty interesting videos, and random smartphone videos pepper the web. Whether real or not, it’s common. I don’t think it will be long before we are presented real actual undeniable proof. This article discusses just that. You are Christians in this discussion. The article presents a way to stay centered amidst all of the possibilities. We don’t know what the nature of the disclosure will be but there is one thing one should consider. NONE of THIS removes Christ. I’m not sure how wild things are going to get but staying in Christ is perhaps the best advice we can give throughout the disclosure process. Consider that your reality and define what you are seeing with a Biblical center. Notes for Disclosure Episode Link: https://www.rabbitholesandmeditations.com/the-uap-disclosure-thinking-biblically/

The Parable of The Growing Seed - Spiritual Growth 21.05.2026 17minI think sometimes we think, like, I’ve crossed the bridge. I’ve professed my belief. I’m baptized. I’m a Christian! That’s cool, but you’re not finished. I think we’ve all been taught the Parable of the Sower, but Mark takes us to the next phase, the growth. And that is not of your doing. You didn’t cause yourself to grow in your mother’s womb, and you don’t cause your spiritual growth. That’s not to say that you don’t play a part. You do. You’re the thing that grows, but the spirit grows with you. It is here that we learn spiritual patience. We learn obedience. Like a plant reaching for sunlight, so we reach for more light in the word, more truth and understanding. We grow with others. Some faster, some slower. But always toward the SON (Pun intended). Things That Go Bump in the Night - Ghost, Demons and the Spiritual World We Live In 19.05.2026 36minI think, as a rule, we tend to dismiss people who express profound interest in the spiritual, ghostly realm. Worse, we think those who claim to have had actual experiences with ghosts and spirits as “crazy”. It all gets swept under the table. I think as Christians we are missing a profound opportunity if we do that. The Bible is no stranger to the spiritual world. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” — Ephesians 6:12 Today spiritual discussions are becoming more mainstream. Among like-minded people, the discussion is likely to come up. Beyond the 3am phone in on the Art Bell radio program, people are now considering the possibility. 1 in 5 people believe in Bigfoot. 1 in 5 Brits believe in the Locke Ness monster. Almost half of all Americans believe in Ghosts and spirits and 20% of all report an actual experience. Extra-terrestrials are now described by many as interdimensional. 33% of the global population believes in reincarnation. Reincarnation - The Endless Treadmill of Depravity 19.05.2026 20minThis podcast is responding a listener request about reincarnation. During the discussion, we learned a number of things. While addressing the issue of reincarnation, we also found out the following, and I have a feeling this is more common among professed Christians than you might think. These statements are telling. I find it really difficult to read the Bible; it’s just too hard to understand. I’m a good person. I think all people end up in heaven. Bad people come back reincarnated to learn the nature of their ways: if they were rich, they might come back as a really poor person. If they were royalty, they may come back as somebody needing to serve. So when pressed, we discovered that this particular person’s theology is derived from personal belief, hearsay, friends, family and perhaps the theology of some ”guru”. We address reincarnation specifically and land with how a person can read the bible comfortably and not get lost in the language of King James. I’m not suggesting it’s ever an easy read, it is more a devoted read but once you grasp a particular subject in the Bible, you tend to want to learn more. The Bible is not a novel as such. Read small, think big with the Bible. And find like-minded people, find a church, find community. He’s how I first read the Bible… I listened to Bible in a Year Podcast. There are a number of them out there. Did I understand it, heck no! But I listened in small chapter bites and heard the whole Bible. I watched some of the more religious programming like the series The Chosen and my current favorite: House of David on Amazon Prime. There are even whole gospel readings on YouTube accompanied with video. “The Gospel of John” is one worth watching. It is 3 hours and fully “consumable”. Reincarnation never solves the problem of fallen man. It is an endless loop of reward and punishment, life after life. That is its own kind of hell! Christ solves the problem for us. He suffers for us and we are resurrected through Him. The person who believes in reincarnation likes to think that everyone goes to heaven, but never really presents a way to accomplish that. There’s no way to get of the reincarnation treadmill! Reincarnation removes the urgency of the moment. Scripture restores it. This life is not a rehearsal. It is the appointed time. Profiling Peter - Applying a Modern Personality Test to an Ancient Character 14.05.2026 18minIf you’ve ever gone through the interview process of some of the bigger companies, you were probably given some sort of a personality test… even if you didn’t realize it. The tech company I worked for liked Myers-Briggs. We all knew our MTBI, and most of us could ascertain the MTBI of our coworkers in a matter of minutes. As a salesperson, I was trained to ascertain my client’s MTBI as quickly as possible and to tailor my responses to what works best within that person’s framework. Yeah… companies do this, and probably your AI Chatbot is doing it as well. For those of you who don’t know, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a popular self-report questionnaire that categorizes individuals into 16 distinct personality types based on how they perceive the world and make decisions. Developed from Carl Jung’s theories, it identifies preferences across four dichotomies, resulting in a four-letter type (e.g., INTJ, ESFP) used for self-awareness and team development. The four core dichotomies are: Extraversion (E) - Introversion (I): Measures whether you prefer to focus your energy outward on people and activity, or inward on ideas and memories. Sensing (S) - Intuition (N): Focuses on whether you rely on concrete information (facts) or theoretical possibilities. Thinking (T) - Feeling (F): Determines if you make decisions based on objective logic or personal values/emotions. Judging (J) - Perceiving (P): Reflects your preference for a planned, organized life versus a flexible, spontaneous one. The 4 Letter combination of these determines a personality type. So we applied this concept to one of the best know apostles in the Bible, Peter, to see if we could determine is MTBI and maybe get a better understanding of Peter as a person. It also is a great way to ascertain the validity of the gospels. Peter is not a fictitious character. His MTBI is remarkably consistent and that, at least in my eyes, lends credibility to the Gospels as a historical eyewitness journey with Christ. The Singularity is 1000 Days Away - AI Outperforms Humans 13.05.2026 46minI think we are on the cusp of a buzzword becoming reality. Ray Kurzweil predicted the singularity to happen around 2030. I think he was right about the substance; he was wrong about the when (but not by much). The (technological) singularity is a hypothetical point when artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence, triggering rapid, self‑accelerating technological change that fundamentally transforms society and human life. The inspiration for this discussion came from a video by Wes Roth titled “1000 Days Left.” The video discusses warnings from Anthropic leadership that advances in AI—especially self‑improving research systems—may reach a decisive inflection point within roughly the next 1,000 days, potentially reshaping economies, power structures, and human work faster than institutions can adapt. It emphasizes both the transformative potential and the serious safety and governance risks of approaching advanced or superhuman AI. We fired up the Berean Teacher application with the topic of singularity. The Berean Teacher application is confined to responses that are only derived from scriptural sources. We attacked the subject from all angles. Projecting this topic onto the realm of scripture is no small task. Once the inflection point has shifted to the computer outpacing the human, you start to ask questions like What does it mean to be human? What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom? And many other topics. The hardest part is trying to keep the conversation on the tracks and to stay focused on what the singularity means to our existence... and stay within the biblical framework. The Counterfeit Shepherd - AI Empathy 12.05.2026 38minYesterday we talked about: “The serpent we built.” This is the other side of the coin, now looking at the shepherd we follow. It derives from the exact same conversation we had with the Berean Teacher application about the Serpent We Built. We’ve entered an era in which we’re getting our guidance from AI - WAY BEYOND what to buy and what website we’re looking for. You’ve heard people say this, I’m sure: “I absolutely know this is true! I saw it on the internet”. Some say it tongue-in-cheek but more and more, what we believe is derived from ”our” web. People absolutely will derive their truth from the internet in some form or another. In a very short time, our “truth” has migrated from the newspaper to the radio to the Walter Cronkites and now to the manicured and curated internet resources. And who curates the content we receive? WE DO! Each of us! The twist? While this podcast is looking at the other side of the coin, i.e. the Shepherd, you’ll discover that it’s a two-headed coin. The Serpent We Built from the Click to the Soul 11.05.2026 36minThe Serpent We Built is an article developed for our Berean Teacher series. As you may have learned from recent episodes in this series: We used our Berean Teacher application and uploaded discussions and videos from a number of sources to get the Berean Teacher (an application confined to the scriptures) to weigh in on the recent news and topics submitted by our audience. The idea was to cover as much from all sides of the discussion as possible and then let the Berean Teacher respond with a comprehensive biblical perspective. The Berean application evaluates modern ideas, spiritual claims, cultural narratives, and emerging technologies through the authority of Scripture alone. Its purpose is to separate evidence from speculation, expose counterfeit spirituality and deception, and help readers think biblically, soberly, and discerningly about subjects such as UFOs, AI, transhumanism, prophecy, and modern spirituality. The article by Greg Newell, in the source, covers the Berean Teacher’s response the question of AI and Deception.
