While he was sitting in jail there was a big party with lots of people drinking alcohol. When one of the young ladies pleased the king he asked her for any request to be granted. Her mother told her to ask for the head of John the Baptist on a platter. The king didn't want to have John killed, but his mind was so confused by the alcohol that he couldn't make good choices.   We are learning about a very sad story in the Bible. John the Baptist had been preaching and teaching, but the king had him thrown into jail. While he was sitting in jail there was a big party with lots of people drinking alcohol. When one of the young ladies pleased the king he asked her for any request to be granted. Her mother told her to ask for the head of John the Baptist on a platter. The king didn't want to have John killed, but his mind was so confused by the alcohol that he couldn't make good choices. What would he do???
