Ello: The Truth Behind Ello & Mark Dowdle's Viral Ultramarathon Showdown... 03.09.2026 1h 17minFINALLY! We find out what really happened... This week I sat down with ultra runner Ayyoub El Osrouti AKA Ello. I travelled over to the Another Cotton Lab store in Düsseldorf, Germany just days after he completed one of the most dramatic backyard ultras ever seen... The Last Soul Ultra. Ello ran 93 loops (623.7km) over 4 days, battling Achilles issues, sleep deprivation, hallucinations, and an intense head-to-head rivalry with Mark Dowdle that went viral around the world. This was such a great chat and so so interesting to get inside the head of one of the greatest endurance runners in the world at the moment.Ello: https://www.instagram.com/anotherello/?hl=enFollow on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@motionalintelligencepodFollow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/motionalintelligencepodCalum's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/calumgoddard/Calum's TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@calumgoddard YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@UC4g2mhwrlRBzXhAsyXVWz4A Contact: [email protected]:00 - Intro: Ello's Last Soul Ultra result00:50 - Welcome to the podcast04:17 - How Ello's body feels after finishing09:07 - Ello's PBs and race highlights (Ironman, London Marathon)12:53 - Introducing the Last Soul Ultra rivalry story19:30 - Bringing in elite coach Sam Harvey30:46 - Back to the start line of this year's race35:10 - The first mental barrier of a 4-day ultra39:06 - The final 14 laps: it gets tense with Mark49:01 - Ello's relationship with Mark Dowdle58:12 - The viral finish line meltdown moment1:03:09 - Fame, attention, and being an athlete vs. an influencer1:06:04 - Room 101: what Ello can't stand about the race1:08:43 - Fan questions: darkest thoughts, hallucinations, and more1:16:36 - What's next for Ello: Moab 240 -

An achievement he followed up with a backyard ultra victory in Brighton & a 2:48 marathon time. Generational athlete and all round top bloke. 41. What Happened at London Marathon & SUB 2 Hour Marathon Finally Broken... TWICE! 30.04.2026 1h 17minJoined on monday morning by my fiancé, Issy to debrief on what was a truly historic London Marathon. Really not the day I was expecting or visioned for myself but that is running, part of the journey! Got to get back after it and go again. Congrats to Issy for pulling out a massive 25 minute PB, an incredible day out there. We also saw the first TWO humans go SUB 2 hours in the same race... a truly record breaking Sunday. Well done to everyone that ran & supported.*we said 'women's world record' - we meant 'women's only world record' (apologies)Calum's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/calumgoddard/Issy's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/issysedgwick/?hl=enWatch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0nNkuS_WWmK0tRPwbfoXLQFollow on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@motionalintelligencepodFollow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/motionalintelligencepod
