Who won the weekend, which show came out on top, and which show flopped? WWE presented Night of Champions where Sami Zayn finally became the WWE Champion after beating Cody Rhodes, and Gunther in a Triple Threat match, and both Oba Femi, and IYO SKY won their respective King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments. Brock Lesnar that changed ALL the plans, and challenged Obe Femi to a Hell In A Cell match at SummerSlam. We look at the on going situation heading into SummerSlam, where both World Championships go now that Oba Fem has bypassed his title opportunity. AEW Forbidden Door never ended, and may very well still be airing as we speak. Nearly 6 hours of Pro Wrestling offered up by Tony Khan, none of which was terribly important, and a show saved by his advertised Triple Main Event. Will Ospreay is going to Wembley Stadium after winning the Owen Hart Cup Tournament, Mercedes Mone, and Maya World put on one of the best Women's match in recent AEW history, and a 12 Man Steel Cage saw Mark Briscoe earn an AEW World Title match with MJF.   Tony Khan is incredibly lucky his "Triple Main Event" went as well as it did. If not, AEW Forbidden Door 2026 would have been a complete, and utter flop. Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland wrestle for the third consecutive summer in the Men's Owen Hart Cup Final and at this point I don't know what else these two guys have left to say to each other. Ospreay won the first meeting, the rematch ended in a 30-minute draw, and now we're doing it AGAIN. At some point the story has to end. In the Women's Owen Hart Cup Final, the recently returned Mercedes Mone looks to become the first AEW wrestler to win the tournament back-to-back, but the underdog in this situation is Maya World, who would punch her ticket to Wembley Stadium with a win. And then there's the 12-man Steel Cage match.   Sami Zayn is the NEW WWE Champion, and Oba Femi is the King of the Ring. I can't believe it but Triple H actually made the right calls at Night of Champions!Jey Uso battles Oba Femi in the King of the Ring Final, with Roman Reigns having tasked Jey with winning the whole thing on his own, without any help from The Bloodline. Good luck with that. Also, Cody Rhodes, Gunther, and Sami Zayn collide in a Triple Threat for the WWE Title, and the story has been brewing for months. Sami cost Gunther his rematch, attacked both men, and somehow inserted himself into the championship picture, and I think that's exactly where this has been heading all along. Sami should win the WWE Championship. IYO SKY gets her shot at Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring Final, and Liv already holds the Women's World Title, so she's coming in as the favorite. Can IYO pull it off? Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker finally settle this inside a Steel Cage. No interference, no Vision, nowhere to run.
