This condition was not only a physical ailment but also carried significant social and spiritual stigma. Lepers were often isolated from their communities to prevent the spread of disease and to maintain ritual purity.In the Gospels, Jesus demonstrates compassion and divine authority by healing lepers, a notable example being the cleansing of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19. This healing not only restored their physical health but also reinstated their place in society and their ability to worship in the temple.Lepers in the Bible symbolize both human suffering and the power of faith, healing, and restoration through God’s grace.
