  • Stop Being So Hard on Yourself 15.09.2026 1min
Are you harder on yourself than you would be on anyone else? Whether you're trying to break a bad habit, reach a goal, lose weight, learn something new, it can be easy to focus on how far you still have to go instead of recognizing how far you've come. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we're reminded that following Jesus doesn't mean expecting perfection from ourselves. We can be quick to extend grace and encouragement to other people while holding ourselves to an impossible standard. When Jesus tells us to “love your neighbor as yourself,” He reminds us that we are also people created and loved by God. Our mistakes don't define us, and our value isn't determined by our productivity, appearance, accomplishments, or failures. God gives us room to grow. We can do the same for ourselves. 👉 Don’t forget: You can also download our free devotional, “Mind, Body & Soul,” designed to help strengthen your walk with God through Scripture, prayer, and practical habits.  CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP Learn more about HEARTBEAT- https://salvationarmysoundcast.org/heartbeat   Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
  • When Saying No Means Being Left Out 10.09.2026 1min
Have you ever felt left out because of your faith? Maybe you walked away from a situation because you knew it wasn't right. Maybe you skipped an event, conversation, or relationship because you wanted to honor God. And even when you know you made the right choice, being excluded can still hurt. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we explore the tension between following Christ and wanting to fit in. For young Christians especially, the pressure to belong, the fear of missing out, and the desire for approval can be difficult to navigate. Jesus never promised that following Him would always be popular. In John 15:19, He reminds His followers that they are not defined by the world's acceptance. They have been chosen by Him. When following Jesus makes you feel left out, remember that you are never left out of God's family. The approval of Christ is greater than the approval of any crowd.
  • When Everything Gets on Your Nerves 08.09.2026 1min
We all have bad days. Maybe you wake up in a terrible mood, someone says the wrong thing, traffic pushes your buttons, and suddenly your frustration seems to control everything. But what do we do with those emotions when anger starts taking over? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we look at 2 Corinthians 10:5 and the call to “take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.” Following Jesus doesn’t mean we never feel anger or frustration. It means we don't have to let those emotions control our thoughts, words, and actions. If you're having one of those days, pause. Take that thought captive. Invite Jesus into the moment and let Him lead your heart.
  • Make Room for Everyone 03.09.2026 1min
Have you ever walked into a place and wondered, “Do I really belong here?” In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we reflect on the story of Hannah, a young woman who has used a wheelchair since childhood. Her story is not defined by what she can't do, but by God’s faithfulness and the community that has supported her along the way. Her testimony also challenges us to look at our own churches, worship services, and communities. Are we creating spaces where people with disabilities and people from all walks of life know they are truly welcome? Jesus consistently noticed and welcomed people others overlooked. As His followers, we are called to do the same. Takeaways from this episode: Everyone wants to know that they belong. A person’s disability does not define their identity or their value. God is faithful through every circumstance. Churches should be places where everyone can participate and feel genuinely welcomed. Accessibility is about more than physical spaces. It is also about relationships and belonging. We can follow Jesus’ example by noticing, welcoming, and including people others may overlook.
  • You Don’t Know Their Story 01.09.2026 1min
It’s easy to make assumptions about people based on what we see on the outside. But Jesus had a different way of seeing. Throughout His ministry, He noticed the people others overlooked: the poor, the outcast, the forgotten, and those pushed to the margins. 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us that while people look at outward appearances, the Lord looks at the heart. Every person we encounter has a story, struggles we may never see, and a life that is deeply loved by God. Takeaways from this episode: We rarely know the full story behind another person’s life. Jesus consistently saw and valued people others overlooked. God looks beyond outward appearances and sees the heart. Compassion begins when we choose to see people as God sees them. Every person we encounter has inherent value because they are made in the image of God. • What You're Missing in Your Bible Study 27.08.2026 1min
Have you ever stood in front of a beautiful painting and realized there was far more to it than you noticed at first? The colors, lighting, symbols, and tiny details all work together to tell a deeper story. The longer you look, the more you discover. The same is true when we read the Bible. Scripture is rich with meaning, revealing God's character, His plan of redemption, and His love for His people. Even details that may seem ordinary, like the lampstand in the tabernacle, point to profound spiritual truths about God's presence and His light. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, be encouraged to slow down as you read God's Word. As you spend time in Scripture, the Holy Spirit helps you uncover deeper truths, gain fresh insight, and see God's heart more clearly. The Bible isn't just meant to be read. It's meant to be explored, understood, and lived.
  • Some Relationships Are Worth Repairing 25.08.2026 1min
More people are choosing to repair worn-out clothes instead of replacing them. Shoes are getting re-soled, jackets are being patched, and well-loved items are being restored instead of thrown away. What if we approached our friendships the same way? In a culture that often encourages us to move on when relationships become difficult, the Bible points us toward a different path. Proverbs 17:17 reminds us, "A friend loves at all times." Lasting friendships aren't built on perfection. They're strengthened through grace, patience, forgiveness, and a willingness to work through difficult seasons together. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, discover why some of life's greatest blessings are found in friendships that have stood the test of time. Be encouraged to thank God for the people He's placed in your life, invest in those relationships, and seek restoration wherever it's possible.
  • What Are Your Eyes Fixed On? 20.08.2026 1min
Have you ever decided you wanted a certain car, only to suddenly notice that same model everywhere you go? The cars didn't suddenly appear. Your focus simply changed. The same principle applies to your spiritual life. Every day, countless distractions compete for your attention, from social media and breaking news to stress, worry, and endless notifications. But Hebrews 12:2 encourages us to "fix our eyes on Jesus," keeping our hearts and minds centered on Him. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, discover how daily habits like prayer, reading Scripture, worship, and Christian community help us recognize God's presence and guidance in our everyday lives. When our attention is focused on Christ, we begin to see His faithfulness at work in ways we may have overlooked before.
  • When It's Time to Let Go 18.08.2026 1min
Few parenting milestones are as nerve-racking as teaching your child to drive. Sitting in the passenger seat while they take control can test every ounce of your patience and trust. Yet it's also a powerful reminder of what parenting is all about. From the time our children are young, we teach, guide, encourage, and correct them, preparing them for the day when they'll make decisions on their own. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to "train up a child in the way they should go." The goal of parenting has never been to keep our children dependent on us forever, but to help them grow into faithful, responsible, Christ-centered adults.
  • Nothing Is Too Small for God 13.08.2026 1min
Have you ever wondered if your prayers are too small for God? Maybe you've thought, God has bigger things to worry about than this. But the Bible tells a different story. In 2 Kings 6, a borrowed iron axe head falls into a river while a group of prophets is building a larger meeting place. What seems like a small inconvenience becomes an opportunity for God to demonstrate His care and power as He miraculously causes the axe head to float. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, discover the comforting truth that God is interested in every part of your life. He cares about the major life decisions, the unexpected setbacks, and even the everyday concerns that weigh on your heart. Nothing is too big for His power, and nothing is too small for His attention.
  • What 50 Years of Marriage Can Teach Us 11.08.2026 1min
What does it take for a marriage to last 50 years? As one couple renewed their wedding vows after five decades together, it became clear that lasting love isn't built on emotion alone. It's a daily choice rooted in grace, forgiveness, and faithfulness. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we're reminded that God's steadfast love is the perfect example of faithful commitment. Whether you've been married for five months or fifty years, healthy relationships aren't sustained by perfection. They grow through intentional love, forgiveness, and the decision to keep showing up for one another every day.
  • The One Gift Everyone Needs 06.08.2026 1min
Some people seem to have a special gift for giving thoughtful presents. They always know exactly what to give. The rest of us might spend hours searching online, hoping the perfect idea appears. But no earthly gift compares to the greatest gift ever given: salvation through Jesus Christ. Long before we realized our need for a Savior, God made a way for us through His Son. As Romans 6:23 reminds us, "The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." In this episode of HEARTBEAT, take a moment to reflect on God's incredible grace and thank Him for the free gift of eternal life. It's a gift we could never earn, yet one He lovingly offers to everyone who believes.

As a new school year begins, parents often experience a mix of excitement, hope, and uncertainty. New teachers, new friendships, academic expectations, and social pressures can all feel overwhelming. But while school success is important, God has given parents an even greater calling: helping their children grow spiritually and emotionally, not just academically. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we're reminded of the encouragement found in Deuteronomy 6 to weave God's truth into the everyday moments of family life. Discover how praying with your children, speaking words of encouragement, and reminding them that their identity is found in Jesus Christ can prepare them for whatever this school year brings.

  • When We Let Someone Else Take the Wheel 28.07.2026 1min
Why is it so hard to let go of control? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we start with something surprisingly relatable: being a passenger in a car.  We like feeling in control. And when that control disappears, anxiety and fear can quickly take over. The same struggle often shows up in our faith. Following God requires trust, especially when we can’t see the full picture. Proverbs 3 reminds us to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” That kind of trust means surrendering the need to control every outcome and believing that God sees what we cannot. This devotional is an encouragement for anyone feeling anxious about the future, overwhelmed by uncertainty, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together. God is not trying to confuse or embarrass you. He is leading you with wisdom, purpose, and care, even when the path ahead feels unclear. Takeaways from this episode: Our desire for control often reveals deeper fears and insecurities. Faith requires trusting God beyond our own understanding. God sees the full picture even when we cannot. Letting go of control can lead to deeper peace and dependence on God. Uncertainty does not mean God is absent from your situation.
  • Grace in the Middle of Shame 23.07.2026 1min
Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by guilt or shame that you started believing God wanted nothing to do with you? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we talk about the spiritual tunnel vision that sin can create. Shame has a way of narrowing our perspective until all we can see is our failure, our mistakes, and the distance we feel between ourselves and God. It convinces us we’re alone, uniquely broken, or somehow beyond grace. But that’s not the story Jesus tells. Looking at the woman caught in adultery in John 8, we’re reminded that while others stood ready to condemn, Jesus stayed near. He confronted the brokenness around her with both truth and mercy, then invited her into a new way of living: “Go, and sin no more.” God has not moved away from you. Even in your struggle, He is still calling you toward healing, freedom, and restoration. Shame isolates, but grace invites us to be made new. Takeaways from this episode: Shame can distort how we see ourselves and God. Sin isolates, but Jesus moves toward broken people with grace. God’s response to our failure is not abandonment. Jesus offers both truth and mercy. No one is beyond the invitation to healing and restoration.
  • The Shepherd Knows Your Name 21.07.2026 1min
What does God do when we feel lost, forgotten, or far from Him? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we reflect on Jesus’ parable of the lost sheep from Matthew 18; a powerful reminder that God doesn’t abandon those who wander. While the world often values the loudest, strongest, or most successful, Jesus tells the story of a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep behind just to search for one that is missing. That’s the heart of God toward us. If you’ve been struggling spiritually, battling feelings of isolation, depression, shame, or distance from God, this devotional is a reminder that you are not invisible to Him. God does not wait for you to have everything together before He moves toward you. His grace pursues you even in the darkest places. The Shepherd still knows your name. And no matter how far you feel you’ve wandered, you are never beyond His reach. Takeaways from this episode: God personally pursues those who feel lost or forgotten. Your value to God is not based on your strength or performance. Depression and spiritual struggles do not separate you from God’s love. Jesus moves toward us with compassion, not abandonment. No one is too far gone for God’s grace to reach.
  • The Seeds You Can't See Growing 16.07.2026 1min
Have you ever stepped out in faith only to wonder if it even mattered? Maybe you started something meaningful; a Bible study, a ministry opportunity, a conversation about faith, and the response felt small. Maybe you’ve tried to serve quietly, love people well, or live more boldly for Christ, yet it feels like no one notices. In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we’re reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 13, where He compares the kingdom of heaven to a mustard seed. Small. Ordinary. Easy to overlook. But over time, that tiny seed grows into something strong, life-giving, and impactful. That’s often how God works in our lives too. He doesn’t ask us to produce instant results or impressive outcomes. He asks for faithfulness.  If you’ve been discouraged because your efforts feel unnoticed or insignificant, this episode is a reminder that God is still at work in the small things. Takeaways from this episode: God often works through small beginnings. Faithfulness matters more than visibility. Small acts of obedience can lead to lasting impact. The kingdom of God grows in ways we don’t always immediately see. What feels insignificant to you may be deeply meaningful to God.
  • What Toddlers Teach Us About Sin 14.07.2026 1min
Why do we hide the things we’re ashamed of? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we look at a surprisingly relatable picture from parenting: toddlers testing boundaries, hiding vegetables under the table, and learning what it means to feel guilty. As funny as those moments can be, they reveal something deeply human about all of us. From an early age, we learn to cover up our mistakes, avoid consequences, and pretend we’re more put together than we really are. But God’s grace meets us right there. This devotional explores the balance of truth, consequences, mercy, and love, both in parenting and in our relationship with God. While our instinct is often to hide our failures, God invites us into honesty and healing instead of shame. His grace is not earned by perfection. It’s found when we stop pretending and allow Him into the places we try hardest to cover up. Takeaways from this episode: Shame often causes us to cover up instead of confess. God responds to our failures with both truth and grace. Parenting can reflect God’s balance of correction and mercy. We don’t have to hide from God to receive His love.
  • Faithful When No One Sees 09.07.2026 1min
What does it look like to faithfully shine God’s light in a dark world? In this episode of HEARTBEAT, we reflect on the image of a lighthouse keeper, faithfully tending the light night after night so others can safely find their way. Often unnoticed and unseen, the lighthouse keeper still shows up because the light matters. That picture beautifully mirrors the Christian life. Following Jesus doesn’t always come with recognition or immediate results. Sometimes loving people, speaking truth, showing kindness, and living faithfully can feel quiet and ordinary. But God uses those steady acts of faithfulness in ways we may never fully see. Takeaways from this episode: Faithfulness matters even when no one notices. Small acts of kindness can have eternal impact. Christians are called to shine God’s light consistently. You may never fully see how God uses your influence. Living with love and truth can guide others toward hope.
