  • Rom 8:18 Suffering in the Life of the Believer (Part 5) 10.08.2026 43min
In Romans 8:18, Paul has told us that the Christian will suffer for Christ. Today we'll see that Christianity is unique from other religions in how it tells the believer to deal with suffering by using reasoning. The believer must reason that his future is better than his present, and that his present day suffering cannot be compared to his future glory. From Romans Chapter 8, the believer can recall what God has done for him, who God has told him he is, and what his future is. The believer must let truth and reasoning control his feelings.
  • Rom 8:18 Suffering in the Life of the Believer (Part 4) 03.08.2026 40min
In Romans 8:18, Paul is now talking about how the Christian should face suffering. In this sermon we'll see how the Christian should NOT react to suffering:1-Don't be surprised that suffering happens2-Don't be shaken by suffering3-Realize there is no promise in Scripture that you will have relief or improvement in your sufferings on Earth4-Realize that the Christian is not called to try to improve the world so that his suffering is reduced5-Don't just resign yourself to your condition - stoic resignation

"We, redeemed sons of Adam, by faith in Jesus Christ, are called heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ." Pastor/Dr. David Murphy begins to tell us about the inheritance that believers have from God. This sermon's focus is on the distinct people who are qualified for this inheritance, the children of God. • Rom 8:16 The Holy Spirit's Assurance 01.06.2026 44min
Pastor/Dr. David Murphy reminds us of the Holy Spirit's work in the believer's life and eternal security, as seen throughout Romans chapter 8. In verse 16, we see that the Holy Spirit places the believer in the body of Christ as God's son. As we study verse 16, Pastor Murphy addresses four points:1-The misconception that the Holy Spirit is not a person, because of the grammar used.2-The misapprehension about the text that torments believers, because they haven't experienced a supernatural voice to confirm that they are a child of God.3-The Biblical meaning, that the Spirit brings us to persuasion that we are the sons of God, and 4-A practical word about security: that your assurance may vary, because the human spirit is imperfect on Earth, but the Holy Spirit will bring you back.
  • Rom 8:14-15 A Son of God (Part 6) 25.05.2026 44min
Pastor/Dr. David Murphy continues to show us that the believer is a son of God, and a son of God can enjoy the assurance of eternal security as God's heir. We'll continue to see what it means to being a son of God (4 of 7 ways):4-God protects us,5-He provides for us as His children,6-He is always ready to listen and grant an audience with Him, and7-God leads His sons and daughters by a-acting on the mind, b-working on our hearts and desires, and c-by acting on our will.
  • Rom 8:14-15 A Son of God (Part 5) 18.05.2026 43min

  • Rom 8:14-15 A Son of God (Part 4) 27.04.2026 36min
Pastor/Dr. David Murphy continues to show us that the believer is a son of God, and a son of God can enjoy the assurance of eternal security as God's heir. We'll see that Scripture seeks to 1-give absolute certainty that you can know that you belong to the Lord and 2-seeks to destroy false assurance on those who are not truly saved through a theological test, a moral test, and social test. We'll then see what it means to being a son of God (3 of 7 ways):1-God loves us in a special, peculiar way,2-He plans for us, and3-He chastens us.

  • Rom 8:14-17 A Son of God (Part 2) 13.04.2026 36min
Pastor/Dr. David Murphy continues our study of Chapter 8 and the doctrine of Eternal Security. Today, we'll see that if the previous arguments are true: that there's no condemnation for the believer, and the believer is no longer under the Law, and the believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit; then the believer is a son of God, and a son of God can enjoy the assurance of eternal security as God's heir. We'll see three of five points regarding a son of God:1-Not all are the sons of God,2-The Christian alone is a child of God, and3-How the believer became the son of God.

  • Rom 8:12-13 Mortifying the Body (Part 2) 16.02.2026 39min
Pastor/Dr. David Murphy discusses the Biblical Doctrine of Sanctification, or as Paul says "mortifying the body". We'll first see that some popular views of sanctification are incorrect, like: the perfectionist view and the victorious life view. Then we'll see that the believer must be actively engaged in Sanctification with the following deductions:1-We must realize who we are and what is true of us as believers: a spirit that's alive, a body that is dead, and the Holy Spirit indwelling.2-Our unredeemed body is the source of our sin problem. We must master and control it.3-We have no obligation to the flesh or to live after it.4-All that pursue the flesh will die, and all that the flesh can offer is death.5-The only obligation the believer has is to the Spirit, Who has a ministry in the believer's life pre-conversion, conversion, and post-conversion. Pre-conversion the Holy Spirit strives, retrains, and convicts the sinner.Post-conversion the Holy Spirit regenerates the believer, baptizes the believer into the body of the church, intercedes for the believer, produces fruit in the believer, and sanctifies the believer.Sanctification involves the working of both the believer and the Holy Spirit in partnership.
