  • Daily Devotions: Work of the Spirit - September 15, 2026 15.09.2026 2мин
Galatians 3:3 (NLT) – “How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall addresses the trap of relying on religious rules and human effort to improve our spiritual standing. Drawing from Paul’s letter to the Galatians, he highlights that spiritual growth is not achieved through willpower, self-help programs, or rigid legalism, but is the direct result of the Holy Spirit working within us.   Pastor Sumrall explains that while we must make good decisions and align our lives with God's Word, real heart transformation cannot be manufactured by human effort alone. He encourages believers to stop trying to change through self-reliance and instead ask God for a fresh work of the Holy Spirit, trusting Him to cultivate His fruit and conform us to the image of Jesus. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Fear of Criticism - September 14, 2026 14.09.2026 2мин
Galatians 2:11–12 (NLT) – “But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him to his face, for what he did was very wrong. When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile believers who were not circumcised. But afterwards, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity of circumcision.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall reflects on how even great men of God can fall into the trap of hypocrisy. Using the Apostle Paul’s confrontation of Peter in Galatians chapter 2, he explores how Peter's compromise in Antioch not only damaged his personal testimony but also led other Jewish believers and Barnabas astray into the same double-mindedness.   Pastor Sumrall explains that the root cause of hypocrisy in a believer’s life is very often the fear of criticism. When we become afraid of getting criticized, yelled at, or rejected by others, we are tempted to compromise our faith and act dishonestly. He encourages leaders and believers to stand firm in biblical truth rather than allowing the fear of human opinion to dictate their integrity. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Pleasing to God - September 13, 2024 13.09.2026 2мин
Galatians 1:10 (NLT) – “Obviously, I am not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall uses the bold example of the Apostle Paul in Galatians to challenge the survey-driven, people-pleasing mentality that often dominates modern churches and leadership. He discusses the temptation for pastors and connect group leaders to focus on winning the approval of people rather than standing as faithful servants of Christ.   Pastor Sumrall explains that trying to please people is a frustrating and futile effort because human opinions are fickle and constantly changing. In contrast, pleasing a holy God is simple: it requires straightforward obedience to His Word. When we make pleasing God our primary goal, we are liberated from human expectations and empowered to speak and act in a way that truly transforms lives. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Seek Reconciliation - September 12, 2026 12.09.2026 1мин
Proverbs 14:9 (NLT) – “Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall reflects on the contrasting ways that fools and godly people handle personal mistakes and guilt. He challenges the worldly mindset, often popularized in modern media, that apologizing is a sign of weakness, pointing out that a refusal to take accountability only deepens divisions and damages relationships.   Pastor Sumrall explains that a godly person possesses the humility and strength to admit when they have done wrong and to actively seek reconciliation. Because most of our sins affect other people, we must refuse to rationalize, excuse, or justify our actions. By stepping up, acknowledging our errors, and asking "What can I do to make this right?", we allow the peace of God to restore our connections with others. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: The Unpleasantness of Oxen - September 11, 2026 11.09.2026 3мин
Proverbs 14:4 (NLT) – “Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall shares highly practical wisdom from Proverbs for business owners, team leaders, and department heads who are in charge of others. Using his personal high school experience of cleaning a smelly barn, he addresses the challenges of leadership, noting that while working alone might keep our "stable" clean and free of conflict, we need others to achieve a large harvest.   Pastor Sumrall explains that managing employees and team members inevitably requires patience and a willingness to "scoop some poop," which means dealing with human problems, bad attitudes, and family challenges. However, if we want to build or grow something significant, we must learn to properly train, develop, and utilize the people God has under our authority. True leadership embraces the messiness of working with people for the sake of the greater vision. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Changing Definitions - September 10, 2026 10.09.2026 4мин
Isaiah 5:20 (NLT) – “What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall addresses the moral decay of our modern world, where the definitions of right and wrong are constantly being altered. He points  the warnings in the book of Isaiah, and discusses how society seeks to rename corruption as "industry standards," bribery as "the cost of doing business," and sinful compromise as "freedom" or "friendship."   Pastor Sumrall explains that we must resist conforming to the world's changing definitions by keeping our lives firmly aligned with biblical ethics and truth. He warns that altering God's definitions only brings sorrow, self-deception, and spiritual degeneracy. By reading our Bibles daily and relying on the Holy Spirit, we can maintain clear definitions of holiness and integrity in every area of our lives. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: When Weak, We Are Strong - September 09, 2026 09.09.2026 6мин
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT) – “Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall reflects on the life and unique ministry of the Apostle Paul, highlighting how he chose to boast in his weaknesses rather than his monumental achievements. He addresses the popular debate surrounding Paul's "thorn in the flesh," showing that in biblical context, this messenger of satan refers to the severe persecutions, insults, and hardships Paul encountered from people everywhere he went.   Pastor Sumrall explains that God’s power works best when we reach the end of our own strength, as our weaknesses allow God's glory to be fully revealed. Instead of operating in pride or striving to be popular big-name influencers, we are called to embrace His grace as all-sufficient. By relying completely on His strength during our trials, we can confidently declare that when we are weak, then we are truly strong. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. Isaiah 1:18 (NLT) – ““Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.””   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall tackles a difficult reality of the Christian life: recognizing that people can change not just from bad to good, but also from good to bad. Drawing from the book of Isaiah, he discusses how even once-faithful people can degenerate and go cold in their hearts, emphasizing that God rejects meaningless sacrifices and empty prayers when our lives are not aligned with right living.   Pastor Sumrall explains that despite our failures, God's grace always provides a pathway back through repentance and reconciliation. He invites those whose faith has grown cold or who have fallen under the wrong influences to sit down with God, settle their past, and receive His cleansing and restoration. Choosing obedience over rebellion is the key to experiencing God's promise of true prosperity and renewal. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Good Pastors Are Jealous for the Sheep - September 07, 2026 07.09.2026 6мин
2 Corinthians 11:2 (NLT) – “For I am jealous for you with a jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband, Christ.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall explores the concept of godly jealousy and the protective heart a true pastor must have for the sheep. Pastor Sumrall uses the Apostle Paul’s letters to the Corinthians to show how a spiritual leader acts as a "matchmaker" who introduces believers to Christ and guards their pure devotion from being corrupted by outside influences.   Pastor Sumrall explains that godly jealousy is not about human control, but about preserving an undivided devotion to Jesus Christ. He warns that believers must be discerning with what they listen to, rather than happily putting up with different doctrines or "super apostles" who seek personal attention. • Daily Devotions: The Boundaries of God’s Work - September 06, 2026 06.09.2026 5мин
2 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT) – “We will not boast about things done outside our area of authority. We will only boast about what has happened within the boundaries of the work God has given us, which includes our working with you.”   In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall discusses the importance of respecting and understanding boundaries in ministry and leadership. Using the Apostle Paul’s example of sticking to his specific calling and geographic assignment, he explains that recognizing God's designated areas of authority is key to avoiding unnecessary conflict and comparison.   Pastor Sumrall explains that the boundaries of what a leader can accomplish in a believer's life are directly determined by that individual’s faith. While rebellion and a lack of faith severely limit what can be ministered to a person, a heart that grows in faith expands the boundaries of God's work, enabling miracles, healing, and prosperity to flourish. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated.
