  • He Left Nepal With a Dream. 20 Years Later, He Built a Company in the US. 12.09.2026 1ч 2мин
Right after +2, in the early 2000s, he left Nepal for Texas to build a life and chase bigger dreams. Two decades later, his company is building the bridges that connect terminal gates at DFW Airport.    Anup Tamrakar didn’t inherit an empire. He started by working at his father’s engineering practice in Nepal, tracing blueprints and even scrubbing bathrooms, long before “CEO” was ever part of the picture. Today, he leads Urban Infraconstruction LLC, a 400-person heavy civil construction company behind major Texas infrastructure like airport bridges, transit lines, and municipal water systems.   Key Milestones: -Scaled to ~400 employees, earning spots on the Inc. 5000 list and recognition as an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Southwest Finalist. -Founded the Amaalya SK Foundation, committing to fund foundational education for 1 million children in Nepal by 2035.   This isn’t another polished immigrant success story. It’s a conversation about what it really takes to build something at scale with the difficult decisions, risks, setbacks, and responsibility.    Featuring Anup Tamrakar, Founder, CEO, Urban Infraconstruction LLC TIMESTAMPS: 00:00:00  Highlights 00:02:17  What is Real Ambition? • Sushant Pradhan on Building an Audience, Making Money & the Business Behind Content 09.09.2026 1ч 36мин
Fitness entrepreneur, fitness coach, and the host behind one of Nepal’s influential podcasts: Sushant Pradhan is stepping out from behind the host desk and into the guest seat for this episode!   We sat down for an unfiltered 1 on 1 conversation on what really happens behind the scenes of content creation, media, and networking.   In this episode, we talk about:   -Why being effective on camera is an acquired professional skill rather than an extroverted personality trait -How to build a high-impact network when you naturally despise traditional networking events, parties, and small talk -What separates parasitic networking from symbiotic value creation and why cold outreach fails when you bring nothing to the table -Why young creators need to spend six to twelve months quietly building a portfolio before trying to leverage high-profile connections -How automating an inefficient workflow with artificial intelligence only scales your operational mistakes faster -What the global shift toward open-source AI models means for local media companies and independent builders -Why deep, multi-hour 1 on 1 conversations remain the ultimate mechanism for building trust, influence, and intellectual leverage   Your network isn’t built in noisy rooms handing out business cards; it’s earned through the depth of your work and the quiet value you bring to the table.   If you’re a founder or creator trying to build something that lasts in Nepal’s changing digital landscape, missing this conversation isn’t just an oversight. It’s a missed blueprint.   TIMESTAMPS:   0:00 Highlights 1:50 Intro  9:30 Realization of self worth & self reflection  18:11 How Open Source Is Taking Over 26:40 Sushant Pradhan Keeps up with Geopolitics, Culture & Human Conflict  36:26 How the Host Inspired Sushant Pradhan to Start Podcasting 48:16 The Harsh Reality of Competing in the Global Market 54:52 Is Success Just Borrowed Time From Your Youth? 1:00:38 Creator Economy in 2014: Before "Influencers" Existed 1:10:15 "Making Money Is Making Money" (Unfiltered Advice) 1:17:49 Sushant Pradhan’s perception as the "Fitness Guy"  1:25:10 Rethinking Fitness: Beyond Just Going to the Gym 1:30:37 Sushant Pradhan's Core Philosophy on Life 🎧 Listen on audio platforms: https://www.podbean.com/eas/pb-99yjy-1b1d982    🎤 Host: Anup Ghimire Founder of The Doers LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anup-ghimire-9366aa5a/     🎙️ Guest: Sushant Pradhan Podcaster & Entrepreneur LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/sushant-pradhan-371b88a7   📲 Follow The Doers Nepal: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedoersglobal/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedoersnepal/    🎬 Production Partner: Viewfinders Production Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/viewfindersstudio/     This episode is brought to you by Become a Doer Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/becomeadoer_/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/becomeadoer2026/  Website: https://becomeadoer.com   This episode is strengthened by Hama Steels Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/hamaironandsteel/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hamasteel/    Our ISP Partner: Vianet Communication Pvt. • Nepali Immigrants Built Their Own Bank in US with EFCU Founder 04.09.2026 1ч 17мин
How Nepali Immigrants Built a Federal Bank in the US | Suman Raj Timsina (CEO, Everest Federal Credit Union) In this episode of The Doers, we sit down with Suman Raj Timsina, CEO of Everest Federal Credit Union (EFCU) and Executive Director at the International Development Institute. EFCU stands as the first and only financial institution chartered specifically for the Nepali diaspora across the United States. Note: Everest Federal Credit Union (EFCU) is a federally chartered, NCUA-insured credit union operating as a full-service community financial institution. Unlike traditional commercial banks driven by outside shareholders, EFCU is 100% member-owned and not-for-profit.   From conceptualizing the credit union in a New York basement in 2015 to securing a rare 50-state federal charter approved by the NCUA, Suman breaks down how community trust transforms into institutional financial power. We dive deep into affinity banking, how the US Nepali diaspora holds an estimated $19B+ in collective economic capacity, why modern banks operate as software enterprises, and how shifting diaspora mindsets from remittance to angel investing can back the next generation of global startups.   TIMESTAMPS:00:00:00 - Introduction  00:01:23 - Welcome to Dallas & Show Kick-Off 00:02:07 - Establishing the First Nepali Community Bank Outside Nepal 00:02:59 - The Historic Roots of "Affinity Banking" 00:04:10 - Regulatory Approval: The Role of the US Congress & NCUA 00:04:59 - Humble Beginnings: Incepting Everest in a New York Basement 00:05:16 - Unlocking Nationwide Reach with a Rare 50-State Federal License 00:05:46 - The Not-For-Profit Model: Banks vs. Credit Unions 00:06:06 - Democratic Governance: Every Depositor Gets One Vote 00:06:33 - Broad Diaspora Eligibility: Nepal, Bhutan, and Beyond 00:08:31 - Life-Cycle Financial Products: Credit-Building to Mortgages 00:13:35 - Supporting the 10th Largest Foreign Student Population in the US 00:14:48 - Absolute Security: Federal Insurance up to $250,000 00:15:46 - 100% Reinvestment: Supporting Our People, Not Corporations 00:16:57 - Going Global: Opening US Dollar Accounts with Passports 00:18:59 - Replicating the Indian "Bank of Houston" Motel Success Model 00:21:40 - The Trust Test: Raising $3.65 Million in Just 3 Hours 00:23:42 - Modern Banking Shift: "Banks are IT Companies" 00:30:06 - Shifting Diaspora Culture: From Remittance to Angel Investing 00:38:11 - The Reality of BBA/MBA Degrees & The Power of Storytelling 00:55:57 - Beyond Banking: The Life-Saving $2,000 Emergency Loan   Want to become a video podcaster? • I Didn't Know Farming Could Be Like This | Inside an American Farm 02.09.2026 51мин
What does modern agriculture actually look like behind the scenes?    In this deep-dive episode, we sit down with Brad Doyle, Chairman of the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board and former President of the American Soybean Association,  operating out of Weiner, Arkansas.  Stepping far beyond traditional manual labor, Brad pulls back the curtain on how multi-million-dollar family farms operate today as high-tech, data-driven global enterprises.  You will discover how tractors drive themselves via precision GPS, how growers utilize complex yield-mapping software, and what happens when practical farming meets Ph.D.-level plant breeding alongside his wife Joyce.   The conversation also tackles the profound economic realities of managing capital-heavy operations, utilizing land and equipment as loan collateral, and navigating global soybean export markets. You will hear firsthand how producers beta-test tomorrow’s heavy machinery hand-in-hand with major engineers like John Deere, while critically addressing the real operational limits of AI integration.    Ultimately, this episode lets you grasp the scale behind 80 million US acres, showing how farmers increase yields and why 97% of American farms remain fiercely family-owned. Whether you are an entrepreneur, an agribusiness professional, or simply curious about where your food comes from, this conversation completely reframes how technology, business, and tradition intersect on the modern farm.   Chapters 00:00:00 Highlight 00:01:35 - Introduction 00:02:45 - The 3rd-Generation Family Farm & Eagle Seed 00:03:19 - When Farming Meets PhD Science 00:06:42 - Surprise: 97% of US Farms Are Family-Owned 00:09:14 - The High-Stakes Business & Profitability of Farming 00:10:30 - Financial Risks, Bank Loans, & Farm Collateral 00:11:39 - The Generational Shift: From Manual Labor to Tech 00:15:26 - How Modern Farms Fuel Local Rural Economies 00:16:06 - Tech Transformation: GPS & Self-Driving Tractors 00:16:31 - Yield Monitors, Big Data, & Off-Season Planning 00:17:43 - The Reality, Limits, and Fears of AI in Agriculture 00:23:49 - Navigating the Global Soybean Export Market 00:31:11 - The Soybean Checkoff System Explained 00:32:41 - The $80M Impact of the United Soybean Board 00:38:43 - Grasping Scale: 80 Million Acres of Production 00:39:14 - How Farmers Increase Yields While Losing Farmland 00:42:02 - Beta-Testing the Future of Machinery with Engineers 00:44:48 - What Keeps a Farmer Up at Night? • Biggest Problems Holding Back Nepal’s Agriculture I Anand Bagaria 24.08.2026 41мин
In this exclusive outdoor podcast live from Chicago, we sit down with Anand Bagaria, a prominent fourth-generation businessman and a Shark on Shark Tank Nepal. Anand shares an eye-opening, highly positive, and strategic outlook on how Nepal can break free from traditional economic traps and build a thriving future.   We dive deep into why Nepal must stop treating its farmers as "pity cases" and instead celebrate them as high-profile celebrity businessmen. Agriculture already contributes 25–26% of Nepal’s GDP, but our national focus is severely mismatched.   While Nepal has relied heavily on remittance, which Anand calls a "sweet outcome of a desperate situation," the real path to sustainable wealth lies in national focus, agricultural specialization, and robust business structuring.   Anand shares critical lessons from the multi-billion-dollar U.S. soybean industry, debunks the "Jack of all trades" approach to national farming, and drops invaluable advice on what he looks for in Shark Tank Nepal Season 2, including why structuring is 10x more important than the investment amount itself.   00:00:00 Doers Goes to USA 00:02:28  Why America Made Anand See Farming Differently 00:03:34  Why Nepal Still Looks Down on Farmers 00:04:46  The Remittance Trap: A Sweet Outcome of Desperation 00:07:56  Nepal Has the Land. • The Untold Story of Unko Sweater: What It Takes to Create a Masterpiece | Director, Unko Sweater 15.08.2026 1ч 26мин
Nabin Chauhan grew up in Nawamidanda, a village in Panchthar so remote that roads never reached it. He tried his hand at business and watched it fail before cinema ever entered the picture. By the time Unko Sweater was released, he wasn't a filmmaker chasing a dream, he was a man who had already been humbled enough times to tell a story without pretending.    In this episode, we talk:    -Why owning your YouTube distribution platform early changes the power dynamics of modern filmmaking forever. -What actually happens behind closed doors when navigating censor board delays, tight release windows, and sleepless production nights. -Why true leadership on set relies on human kindness and operational discipline rather than artificial hype or ego. -What "global cinema" truly means when you eliminate regional boundaries and design stories that transcend language. -Why the ultimate evolution for a visionary creator is transitioning from a solo director to building a whole creative ecosystem for other artists. The film made रू11 crore on a budget of रू2 crore, but the number was never the point for Chauhan, the point was proving a story from a roadless village in Panchthar could hold a country's attention. If you're building something in Nepal and think your background isn't cinematic enough to matter, this says otherwise. • From Nepal to Wall Street: He Works for the Bank Powering America's Biggest Fintechs | Pravesh Rijal 08.08.2026 1ч 11мин
From Wall Street trading floors to Nepal's hydropower-fed data centers, we're diving deep into the collision of artificial intelligence, banking, and national ambition a conversation about who controls the future of money, why accountability matters more than speed, and whether a young, resource-rich nation like Nepal can finally stop importing outcomes and start exporting intelligence with Pravesh Rijal.   In this episode, we talk about:   -Why does a Wall Street quant with a PhD in transformer architecture believe Nepal can leapfrog nations decades ahead of it -How $24 billion sitting in Nepali bank vaults and $10 billion in yearly remittance could become the country's biggest untapped weapon -What happens when AI stops being a tool humans use and starts becoming the distribution channel for all of finance -Why banks are terrified fintechs are quietly stealing the one thing that actually matters — data -How a 2017 research paper called "Attention Is All You Need" secretly built the foundation for every AI tool the world uses today -What it really means when a bank tells you "we're just custodians" while billions move invisibly through their rails -Why speed without accountability is the fastest way to destroy trust in the age of AI -How Nepal's 9-10% remittance transaction cost is silently taxing millions of families every single month -What the future of embedded finance looks like when banks disappear completely and come to you instead This episode asks the one question every Nepali dreamer needs to sit with: are we ready to stop importing outcomes, and finally start exporting intelligence. Because the tools exist. The talent exists. The only thing left to decide is whether we're bold enough to use them.   TIMESTAMPS   00:00 Introduction 04:54 What is Quant? 09:54 "Attention Is All You Need" Is the Foundation of GPT 12:16 My PhD Research Is on Transformers 14:19 Our Philosophy at Cross River 21:13 Where Is Fintech Headed Globally? 28:41 Embedded Finance Might Become Bigger Than Fintech 33:18 The Biggest Moat Is Intelligence and Distribution 35:06 The First Decentralized Data Marketplace Developed in Nigeria 40:00 Something Is Happening in Nepal 45:21 Cities Are More Similar Than Countries 50:16 What Is a Stablecoin? 1:05:20 How Would You Train the Next Generation Differently? • Former Kantipur Digital COO Breaks Down Why Nepali Media Lost Its Way 01.08.2026 1ч 59мин
Great ideas don’t build scale. Calculated execution does. Meet Ananta Saurabh: a tech leader who operates where high-level vision meets gritty, hands-on execution. Over two decades, he has built, scaled, and led digital powerhouses across Nepal's tech and media ecosystem. In this episode with Ananta Saurabh, we talk about:   -The real numbers behind Kantipur's digital growth -Why he believes most media companies lost people's trust the moment they stopped serving the public and started serving themselves -What "brain, tools, and skills" means in his blueprint for a company that runs itself on AI  -Why he calls himself "just a coding problem solver" who was making money without any purpose -How Kantipur's ad revenue climbed from $10 a day to over $1000 a day, and what nearly destroyed it overnight -Why he felt guilty charging money for his first laptop sale in India, and what he did about it   This is a conversation about walking away from things you built, on purpose, and starting over with nothing but conviction. For every young Nepali founder wondering if leaving is failure or freedom, this episode answers it without flinching.  TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Highlights 10:47 The First Time I Met Sambhav 33:44 Why New Media Deserves Its Own Aggregator 56:21 Why AI Got Its Hype After ChatGPT 1:15:31 Time of Your Life 1:30:37 How Capital Gains Work in India and Other Nations 1:46:27 The Concept of "Stop-Bhai"  Want to become a video podcaster? • Fusemachines' AI Education Director on Sovereign AI, Data Centers, and Why the Time Is Now 26.07.2026 1ч 36мин
Director of Talent Development and AI Education at Fusemachines, Rojesh M. Shikhrakar, has spent nearly a decade building and working with AI systems, long before the world knew what a prompt was and long before ChatGPT made "artificial intelligence" a dinner-table phrase. In this episode, he pulls back the curtain on what's actually happening inside the machines we've started trusting with our decisions, our classrooms, and possibly our future economy. In this episode, we talk about: Why token costs are dropping 40x while model intelligence is compounding 1,000x, and what that math means for anyone building today. How predictive policing exposes the one thing AI still cannot do, forecast human social outcomes with any real accuracy. What "human in the loop," "on the loop," and "off the loop" actually mean for the jobs disappearing first. Why hallucination isn't a bug that will eventually be fixed. It's a permanent tax the industry has quietly accepted. How Nepal could build sovereign AI infrastructure instead of renting intelligence from someone else's data center. What happens to entry-level hiring when AI makes junior-level output senior-level ready almost overnight. Why competing with China, India, or the US on AI is the wrong game, and what the right one looks like. How philosophy, not code, might ultimately define where artificial intelligence goes next. This isn't a conversation about tools. It's about who gets to hold power when intelligence becomes cheap enough for anyone to buy. Rojesh M. Shikhrakar makes an uncomfortable case for why Nepal cannot afford to sit this one out. Watch it before your competitors do. • Can Nepal Become Asia's Next Outsourcing Hub? 23.07.2026 1ч 17мин
What does it take to lead the Nepal operations of a global Japanese manufacturing technology company? We sat down with Saugat KC, Vice President at MISUMI Nepal, to explore how one of Japan's leading manufacturing technology companies is building its presence in Nepal. From global industrial supply chains and digital transformation to market expansion and operational leadership, this conversation offers a rare inside look at what it takes to lead a global business from Nepal. In this episode, we discuss: Why a Japanese manufacturing technology company with a global presence chose to invest in Nepal and what that says about the country's growing potential. How Saugat KC went from employee to co-inventor on patented technology within MISUMI. How he rates Nepali graduates against global talent, and where the biggest skill and mindset gaps still exist. Why many established Japanese manufacturers are accelerating digital transformation and how Nepal can position itself as a trusted engineering and technology partner. If you're building something in Nepal and think the world is too far away to notice, this conversation says otherwise. • Will AI Create The First One-Person Unicorn? 27.06.2026 1ч 21мин
From writing his first lines of code at twelve to founding Intuji at fifteen and building a global digital transformation firm that works with manufacturers, wholesalers, and industrial businesses across continents. We're diving deep into why the most dangerous gap in business today isn't a talent gap or a capital gap, but a thinking gap. A failure to separate activity from outcomes.  This is a conversation with Julian Wallis about what it actually takes to build a business that compounds where your data, your systems, and your digital ecosystem become assets no competitor can replicate.  -What "QTIP" means, and why every founder needs to tattoo it on their brain before their next team meeting. -How the difference between a job and a task is the only thing standing between you and irrelevance in the next five years. -What "PSV thinking" is and why every tech investment decision should start and end with it. -How the companies that will dominate the next decade aren't the ones adopting AI fastest, they're the ones who own their data first. -Why high performers aren't in danger from AI, low performers are already gone. -What it actually means to build an "edge factor" and why most businesses are building features instead. • Why International Degrees Are Booming in Nepal | Explained by Expert with 30+ Years of Experience 14.06.2026 1ч 33мин
We're diving deep into one of the most urgent and overlooked conversations in Nepal: the broken bridge between learning and earning.    This is an episode about what happens when a system designed for the last century tries to prepare young people for the next one.    Our guest has spent three decades at the intersection of education policy, vocational training, and workforce development: Dr. Usha Bhandari   In this episode, we talk about:   -Why the most dangerous thing in Nepal's education system isn't corruption. It's irrelevance. -Why "gap year" is a lie we tell ourselves and how that same period could be the most transformative labor market entry of a young person's life  -How degrees are becoming decorations while skills, attitude, and work-based learning become the real currency of employment  -Why we need to move past treating vocational skills as a lesser path  -Why internships without pay are exploitation disguised as opportunity   This is not just a conversation about education. This is a conversation about the future of work, the value of skill, and whether Nepal is ready to build a generation that doesn't have to leave home to find a worthy career.
