  Backrooms was a massive blockbuster this spring and the sounds in the film are a big reason why. The team was presented with some real sonic puzzles to solve, including the unique set where it was shot, creating sound design from the camera's perspective and sonically leading an extremely tense opening scene with no music or sustained dialog. For season 2, supervising sound editor Paul Col and re-recording mixer Gavin Fernades, were presented with an intimidating amount of audio challenges. A sword fight involving 100 enemies, bad guys that battle by turning into smoke, whales the size of buildings and lots more had to be given sounds built from scratch.
