  • Disarming Atrocity: Why Halting the Arms Transfers Is Key to Ending Sudan’s War 31.03.2026 11мин
Sudan is not just at war—it is unraveling in the face of non-responsive global leadership. The country has descended into a brutal conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that has plunged the country into a spiraling state of desolation and a catastrophic humanitarian crisis. As of late April 2025, over 12.7 million people have been forcibly displaced, including a staggering 4 million children - an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, the largest displacement crisis the world is witnessing.. Geoffrey Lou Duke, a fellow at the Africa Leadership Centre looks at how the international community’s failure to stem weapons flows is fueling war crimes and imperiling regional security and stability:
  • Zimbabwe’s Coup and the Question of Legitimacy 31.03.2026 10мин
Over the past decade, Africa has seen 11 successful military coups across eight countries — a resurgence that’s reignited tough questions. • South Sudan: Stuck in Transition, Struggling for Progress 29.04.2025 46мин
Since independence in 2011, South Sudan has only experienced one year of peace before descending into repeated transitional governments and conflict. Civil society voices blame political leaders, particularly President Salva Kiir and Vice President Riek Machar, for derailing progress and fostering division. The population continues to suffer under the grip of a small elite maintaining the status quo. There is widespread disillusionment as hopes for democracy fade. Calls grow louder for genuine leadership and structural change to avoid yet another cycle of violence.
