Habke Naqsa; The Oral Memory of Northern Syria

This podcast seeks to revive the folktales and oral traditions still passed down by word of mouth in northern Syria. From village homes to tribal guesthouses, we gathered the voices of grandmothers, grandfathers, and storytellers from the diverse languages and ethnicities that have shaped the region, to present these stories both in their original languages and in Arabic.

In episodes, we hear tales of humans, animals, and mythical creatures, stories told with multiple endings depending on the setting and the storyteller, straddling the line between myth and history, between nostalgia and memory. We recover narratives that reflect human beings’ relationship with the surrounding environment, wisdom, imagination, and the transformations of their community.

This podcast is not merely about listening to old tales, but an attempt to understand the present through the lens of popular memory, and to explore how these stories might also reflect our future.

حبكة ناقصة؛ الذاكرة المروية للشمال السوري

بودكاست يحاول إعادة إحياء القصص الشعبية والمرويات التراثية التي لا تزال تتناقلها الألسن في الشمال السوري. بين بيوت القرى ومضافات العشائر، جمعنا أصوات الجدّات والجدود، والرواة من مختلف اللغات والإثنيات التي أثرت المنطقة، لنقدّم القصص بلغاتها الأصلية وبالعربية أيضًا.

في الحلقات نسمع حكايات عن البشر والحيوانات والمخلوقات الأسطورية؛ قصص تُروى بنهايات متعددة بحسب البيئة والراوي، بين الأسطورة والتاريخ، بين الحنين والذاكرة. نستعيد مرويات تعكس علاقة الإنسان بمحيطه، وحكمته، وخياله، وتحوّلات مجتمعه.

البودكاست ليس مجرد استماع لقصص قديمة، بل محاولة لفهم الحاضر عبر مرآة الذاكرة الشعبية، ورؤية كيف يمكن أن تعكس هذه الحكايات مستقبلنا أيضًا.

إنتاج: اتجاهات – ثقافة مستقلة، بالتعاون مع منصة حكواتي، وبالشراكة مع منصة ري الثقافية ومالفا للفنون، ضمن برنامج دروب لتعزيز الموارد الثقافية والتراثية اللامادّية السورية بدعم من صندوق حماية التراث الثقافي التابع للمجلس الثقافي البريطاني.
