Multimodality Imaging and Pace-Mapping Patterns in Patients With Cardiac Sarcoidosis and Ongoing Inflammation Undergoing Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation | JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology 18.09.2026 5minIn this episode, Frank Marchlinski, MD, Deputy Editor of JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology, discusses a study of ventricular tachycardia ablation in patients with active cardiac sarcoidosis. Using integrated FDG-PET and cardiac MRI imaging, the investigators found that VT exit sites were often located in areas of active inflammation, while more proximal circuit sites were associated with scar. Patients in whom only VT exit sites could be identified had substantially higher VT recurrence rates, suggesting that targeting deeper portions of the VT circuit may improve outcomes. -

Computed Tomography–Defined Ridges and Functional Mapping in Ablation of Postinfarction Ventricular Tachycardia 15.09.2026 4minIn this episode, Frank Marchlinski, MD, Deputy Editor of JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology, discusses a study evaluating how CT-defined myocardial ridges and functional mapping can be combined to identify critical ablation targets in post-infarction ventricular tachycardia. The investigators found that VT target sites frequently localized to CT-defined ridges, particularly those associated with primary deceleration zones, suggesting that functional mapping can help distinguish active arrhythmogenic ridges from inactive ones and support more targeted VT ablation.
