But when I actually walked through the verse in context, I realized Paul wasn't handing me a blank check, he was praying for something much bigger, inner strength, roots grown down into God's love, and the power to understand a love that's honestly too great to fully understand. I also share a question from Bible teacher Megan Fate Erickson that wrecked me, if God said yes to every prayer you prayed this week, would your life be comfortable, or would His name be glorified? Friends, if you thought Isaiah 40:31 was a verse you already knew by heart, stick with me, because knowing the words was never actually my struggle. It's the address, the chapter and verse, that used to slip right through my fingers. In this episode I'm teaching you a full body anchor for Isaiah 40:31 (NLT): “Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength, they will soar high on wings like eagles.” We build it one gesture at a time: a T for trust, a flex with a popped pinky for Isaiah, and a wing swish for soar. Then I show you how that same hand shape locks in the actual chapter and verse, forty, thirty one, so the reference sticks right alongside the words. Friends, it started as a blessing that I was praying over my daughter and then it turned into art! In this episode I'm walking you through exactly how I memorize scripture as an adult, using a technique that looks a little bit like a game of Scrabble and a whole lot like meditating on the word. We dig into Psalm 1:1 to 3 (KJV), why I built my own crossword style word map out of thirteen keywords, and how walking, standing, and sitting became a lens for examining my own heart posture.
