The Dysfunctional Podcast is hosted by Grace, a 20-year-old who simply loves to talk. Each episode is unscripted and loosely organized, covering whatever topics happen to be on her mind at the time. Grace describes herself as having a hundred thoughts running at once, so listeners should expect a casual, free-flowing conversation rather than a tightly planned show. It is a personal, chatty podcast for anyone who enjoys hearing someone speak honestly about everyday life and random interests.

Growing Up in an Appearance Obsessed World 12.08.2026 19นาทีToday’s topic is something that has really been weighing on me recently. And that is because of the rise in skinny culture recently, if you don’t know what this is let me explain. More recently there has been a rise in particularly young people losing weight more rapidly, and this is usually not in a healthy way. A lot of people are getting on things like ozempic or other weight loss drugs when they do not need them for health reasons. This problem has made me think more about the lengths that people will go to in order to change their appearance. And of course, people in society have not always gone to these extremes in order to “fix” their insecurities, but from my experiences, we have lived in a appearance obsessed world for a long time. From an early age, I learned that people emphasize appearance heavily. So today we are going to be talking about society’s emphasis on appearance, my experiences growing up in an appearance obsessed world, and what I do when I’m feeling insecure. -
Guarding Your Heart Doesn't Mean You Have to Numb It 26.05.2026 11นาทีHello and welcome or welcome back to the dysfunctional podcast, it's been a minute and I’ve missed talking to your guys. I saw a tik tok recently and it inspired what we are going to be talking about today. The tik tok I saw said guarding your heart does not mean you have to numb it and I thought to myself, I could make that a podcast topic. A common misconception among christians is that when the bible says guard your heart that means you have to numb it or be closed off. But I don’t think christians alone are struggling with this problem, I think this is very common in my generation in general. So today we are going to be talking about what it means to guard your heart, and what this common misconception about guarding your heart has caused in society. -

I would say if you were to listen to any of my podcasts, I would probably recommend this one out of all of them. If you feel similarly to how I did during this time in my life or can relate in some way, I just want to tell you that you are not alone. If you feel hopeless, worthless, and maybe even like there is simply not a place for you, I can promise you that your thoughts couldn’t be further from the truth. Being a People Pleaser 16.04.2024 8นาทีToday we are going to be talking about a very common tendency that a lot of people have. For me I have had this since I was young, and that is being a people pleaser. I looked up the definition of people pleasing and according to google, a people pleaser is someone who feels a strong urge to please others, even at their own expense. Don’t get me wrong, I think putting others before yourself is an amazing thing. But people pleasing takes that to a whole other scale that can constantly negatively affect someone. Today we are going to talk about what causes people pleasing, what are some negative effects of people pleasing, and I will be giving advice to others that may be struggling with people pleasing. -

Self Image 16.02.2024 14นาทีI started writing down another outline for a different topic that was a fun one. I’ve been pretty down recently and most of the time talking about fun topics will cheer me up. But while I was making the outline it really just didn’t feel right for some reason. So today I am going to be talking about something that I am currently struggling with… self image. I’ve talked about body image before but self image is something different. Self image is the way we view ourselves as a whole, this can be completely different to how others view us. A simpler way to describe it is self esteem. Today I am going to be talking about my personal experiences with self image, why someone may struggle with their self image, and things that might help if you are struggling with your self image.
